In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Abby and Chance debate his duties, Nate and Devon have another fight about work, and Chelsea tells Victoria she thinks it’s time for her son to learn the truth.
In the previous episode, Lily mediating for Nate and Devon backfired, Devon confronted Nate, and Summer demanded answers from Nikki and Phyllis .

Chelsea bursts into Victoria’s office and asks if she’s okay. Victoria claims she’s fine and says she heard her voice on Billy’s podcast. She definitely “livened” things up.
This isn’t the best time for Victoria, so she asks what she wants. Chelsea was hoping they could arrange a get-together between Johnny and Connor.
Victoria says Johnny already has plenty of friends and asks what she really wants. Putting her bag down, Chelsea says she thinks they need to know they are siblings.
The Newman reminds her of their original agreement and wonders what the sudden urgency is.
Lawson says the kids will learn the truth one day and she worries they might think they were keeping something from them and resent it.
She assures Victoria she’s done an incredible job and she won’t act like his mother, but thinks they should approach the boys with some honesty.
This is a big ask and they need to handle it with care. Victoria will consider it.
Abby and Chance sit down to eat at Society. She asks if he’s come to any conclusions about the Locke investigation.
She knows she wasn’t going to press him about this but she spoke to Victoria and she told him all the heartbreaking details.
“Did Victoria try to get you to influence me?” he asks. She worries about what this investigation could do to her family.
Her husband reminds her this is his job and he took an oath he takes seriously. Abby says the truth won’t change Locke being dead.
She loves how devoted he is to his duty to the community, but he also has a duty to his family.
He can’t put family above the law. His wife worries about the stress this is putting on them, especially him. He’s been working day and night.
Chance just wants to live up to Rey’s legacy. She reminds him there is more to life than work and tells him about Dominic saying “Bye-bye.” He keeps missing family dinner.
He hates missing stuff like that but he has a job and so does she. The cop suspects this is about more.
Chance claims he’s just torn about what to do. Everyone keeps coming at him.
Victoria comes in and asks for a moment with Chance. Abby leaves to pick up her son.
Sitting down, Victoria asks the cop about the video footage he found. He wonders if she’s about to issue a veiled threat.
She worries that Abby may have leaned on him for her benefit. “I want you to know I accept you have to do what you have to,” she says.
He’s glad to hear that.
She reiterates that someone came after her with violent intentions and her family was stopped. The outcome was what was best for everyone involved.
After she’s gone, Kevin comes in and explains the latest evidence. Most of it is a dead-end but they do have prints of someone other than Ashland on his car handle.
The car was meticulously wiped clean other than this one. That strengthens the idea that someone else dealt with the car and staged the accident.
Do they have enough to take this to the DA?
Billy drops by Lily’s office and apologizes for being late. She tells him he missed the video conference and now she has to reschedule it.
He offers to make some calls and fix that but senses there is more. She warns him that his podcast is distracting from his real work: his primary job as COO.
He insists that the podcasts are a major feature of their success. She doesn’t have time to deal with podcasts and needs support from her COO.
Lily thinks that he lacks exuberance in his corporate work. He seems bored. If he wants to spend his time being a podcaster, he should step up and own it.
He wonders if she thinks he should be quiet. Lily thinks he’s taking it too far.
Billy decides he’s just been missing her. She opens the gift he got her. It’s some new earbuds.
Lily encourages him to seriously think about what he wants.

At Crimson Lights, Devon confronts Nate, accusing him of using Lily to try and greenlight his ideas.
His cousin says he’s dead wrong and Lily just doesn’t have a problem listening to him. Devon claims he’s never had a problem hearing him. He just can’t say anything to him without him getting sensitive.
He’s a COO, his job is to run things by him. “You work for me,” he reminds him.
Nate doesn’t like being treated like an intern and thinks he’s treating him like he should be seen and not heard. He thinks he could learn a thing or two from how Lily handles things if he weren’t so egotistical.
With a little prompting, Nate lists Lily’s inspiring qualities. Devon is annoyed. Nate accuses him of stifling him. His cousin thinks he can’t handle being inexperienced.
He reminds Nate again of who he works for. “You’re all worked up. You gonna punch me again?” Nate asks.
Devon says this is clearly about more than work so Nate needs to figure himself out before they talk again.
Once Nate is gone, Abby drops by and Devon begins venting about the problems with Nate.
He’s trying to do too much too fast and won’t listen to anyone else. Working with family wasn’t supposed to be this hard.
Abby keeps praying for peace but doesn’t think that will happen as long as her husband is a cop. It seemed to be helping him heal but now he is overcompensating.
She tells him he’s working on the Locke case. Devon is sure that’s complicated.
Maybe she should put her foot down and stop him from working so much. She thinks you need to let people make their own mistakes. Perhaps he should try that with Nate?
He’s not about to do that.
She worries she just tried to guilt Chance into doing what she wanted him to. Neither of them is very good at practicing what they preach.
They’re happy that they can call each other out and be honest. He wishes Nate wasn’t fighting him at every turn.
Victoria finds Billy at the bar on the rooftop. She was looking for a quiet drink but keeps running into reminders of her messy life.
They talk about Chelsea showing up in her office. He says that she jumped the gun.
Victoria doesn’t disagree with telling Johnny the truth, just the timing. Why is this suddenly so urgent?
He’s not pushing for it either and asks her to sit down so he can bore her with talk of his podcast. Being bored sounds like heaven to her.
They talk about keeping the kids out of town while the Locke mess unfolds. As she sips, she asks where Lily is. He says she’s at work, “Of course.”
Billy admits that he feels like he still hasn’t figured out what he’s going to do when he grows up. She teases him about that.
As they joke around, Chelsea arrives and spies on them. Billy offers his ex another drink but she wants to go home and sleep. She thanks him for his friendship.
Once she has exited, Chelsea immediately takes her seat. She’s impressed by the friendship he has maintained with his ex.
