In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Victor and Nikki discuss their kids finding out about Diane’s return from the dead, while Victoria gets into it with Billy over his podcast, and Kyle and the Abbotts get answers from Diane. In the previous episode, Sally and Adam discussed his next move, and Lily had concerns about Billy’s latest podcast.

From Society, Nikki and Victor are glad Newman-Locke has been renamed Newman Enterprises. Nikki brings up Diane. They hope she left Genoa City. Victoria has enough to deal with right now. Victor will tell Adam not to mention this to his sister.
None of the other kids know. Nikki suggests they tell them themselves. Victor pays the check and brings dessert to go. “To get the sour taste of Diane Jenkins out of my mouth?” She asks.
She’s moved on to think about Ashland’s dramatic gesture to Nick. Victor thinks “the boy” could do a lot of good with that, but they both know he’s trying to buy Victoria’s forgiveness.
Victoria hobbles into Crimson Lights and runs into Billy. He tells her he’s late for a family meeting. They joke about him bringing the sweets and she says she heard an interesting podcast that was produced by his company.
Billy covers. He pretends the guy is out of California. Victoria says The Grinning Soul had an interesting take on her soon-to-be ex-husband. Billy lies that it sounded generic but Victoria presses him.
He can change his voice, but she knows how he talks, and the phrases he uses. “You’re the host. Admit it!” He laughs and denies it, but thinks the public deserves to know this. Victoria calls herself a private person and doesn’t like that he’s exploiting that for his ego. She storms out.
At the Abbott’s, Jack offers Diane water since she looks pale. She’s caught off guard.
Kyle thinks he could have warned her but she knows she would have to face his family at some point.
Diane kept track of the accomplishments of the women. Ashley says they could have been in jail. Before she left, she blackmailed her and her daughter. Traci says that’s not why they’re there.
Diane knows she’s there to explain herself. Abby’s surprised she’s looking forward to this. Ashley asks why they should believe in her and Kyle feels bad.
He apologizes to his family and thinks maybe they should stop. Diane defends him. She thinks it’s a good thing for her to come clean. She invites them to lash out at her and go over her sordid history.
Ashley thinks Diane’s trying to manage them, though Diane denies it. She only wants Kyle’s forgiveness. Traci wants to hear Diane out.
Diane understands their suspicion. She knows she sunk low. Abby asks if she had an epiphany but she said no. She quotes her therapist in learning how to be a decent human. She had to learn not to be arrogant.
After a few false starts, she says she found a good therapist. Abby and Ashley roll their eyes and smirk at one another. Kyle asks if she was okay with Diane returning to Genoa City.
Diane skirts the question, which Ashley thinks means ‘no’. Nobody buys anything she’s putting out there. Diane says she’s been seeing the psychologist for 6 years, “Give or take.” They don’t like how vague she appears.

They want to see her finances and she agrees to. She’s not wealthy but bought a house in L.A. They know all about that. Diane claims she’s strong enough to face the backlash she knows that’s waiting for her and she thinks she has something worthwhile to give Kyle.
Billy wanders in with the sweets. He almost falls over at seeing Diane alive. They get on track and Diane says she’s heard his podcast and can see redemption can occur.
She knows that they’ve forgiven others. She’s failed her son but wants to make it up to him. To have him in her life somehow. She’d settle for a Christmas card. Being able to look him in the eye and tell him how much she loves and misses him…”Anything else would be a gift.” Billy asks what she actually wants. Kyle responds that she wants to be a part of his life.
She says her Italian’s rusty but she and Harrison could practice. Jack’s eyes widen and Ashley reminds her the Newmans hate her. Diane reminds Abby she’s not going around naked on horseback anymore. She gets up and says she’ll give them time to mull over things. She goes, and Kyle asks his family their thoughts.
Ashley thinks that Diane gave a performance, but Traci thought she was genuine. Jack knows Diane’s always loved him. That’s not the issue. Kyle says she seems to have grown. Abby has a hard time being objective.
Billy thinks Kyle should give him another chance since so many have given him countless chances, but Ashley votes they avoid her altogether. Two are opposed, and two think it’s worth the risk. Jack’s the deciding vote.
He tells his son to make his own decision and they’ll support it. Billy suggests flipping a coin and they all finally crack a smile. Someone comes to the door and Jack opens it, thrilled at who he sees. Allie. “Come in and meet your family,” he tells her, happily.
Back at her office, Victoria removes the necklace Ashland gave her as she recalls Billy’s podcast in her head about Ashland causing pain all around. She gets to work and later, Nikki and Victor turn up.
They were discussing her at lunch. Nikki’s glad she took off that necklace. “Good for you,” she says, causing Victor to wonder what she means. Nikki tells him the necklace was a gift from Ashland.
Victoria thanks her dad for the portrait and for his support of her hiring her mother as co-CEO. He thinks they’ll make a great team. He’s supportive of all she’s done for the company in spite of what happened.
Victoria takes off for a quick bite. Her parents sing her praises for the way she’s dealt with everything that happened with Ashland. Nikki can tell she’s heartbroken. She adored Ashland and is still grieving that loss.
