The Canadian Y&R day ahead recap from the Thursday, August 5, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Friday, August 6. In the previous episode, All hell broke loose in Genoa City when Kyle confronted Tara about blackmailing Summer. Plus, Naya admitted she believed Sutton’s a murderer, and Victoria agreed to marry Ashland, and in this episode, Tara’s bad girl days are over, Adam called Sharon to tell her he was sorry for their last conversation, and Kyle and Summer reunited.
Moses arrives at Crimson Lights, as Sharon’s teaching Faith to make drinks. Sharon tells him that Faith was filling her in on the concert and how they’d gone backstage. Moses gives her a white album. Sharon asks, “Is that the Beatles?” Moses laughs and says no. It’s for special fans and is signed by the group. Faith is thrilled. He has a digital copy and Sharon sends them to the patio to listen.

Adam calls Connor who is at Lacrosse camp. He tells his kid to have fun and remember this is a chance to improve. “I love you and I’ll see you soon,” he says, ending the call.
At the ranch, Victor shows Rey his chessboard. Chess isn’t Rey’s game. Victor thinks if it ever did, he’d be a formidable opponent. Rey narrows his eyes. That sounds like a compliment. Victor laughs. It is. He wants to let bygones be bygones. He thanks Rey for taking Chelsea to see her mother and ensure his grandson got home okay. Vic asks if he thinks all of this is a rouse on Chelsea’s part or not. He suggests maybe she will return to Genoa City and kidnap her son. Rey thought he dismissed Chelsea as a threat. Victor won’t let his guard down where she’s concerned. Rey admits she seems to have accepted the situation. She told Connor to listen to his father and grandparents. “She’s a good mom,” he says and doesn’t want to jeopardize anything with her son. He never had the idea that she was going to do anything. Victor offers him a job at his private security firm. “You’re a born leader,” he says. He sweetens the deal by saying he pays well and there are a lot of perks. Rey can’t imagine being anything but a police officer, but thanks him. Victor understands but knows situations often change.
Nick introduces himself to a man at Grand Phoenix. He wanted to talk to him on Lauren Fenmore’s behalf.

At the Abbott house, Kyle is worried that Tara will take Harrison out of Genoa City. Maybe they can get an injunction, Jack thinks. He has rights. Kyle thinks it’ll take time to assert those rights. Who knows where she’ll be by then. She’s upstairs packing now. Jack says there’s an option. They tell her they’ll forgive her and give her another chance. Kyle thinks she’ll see right through that. Tara appears and asks her not to leave. She already told Harrison she was moving back to New York. “Harrison is young. He’ll forget about you soon enough,” she tells Kyle. Jack finds that he’ll always need his father. He asks where this attitude is coming from. Tara yells that she’s always tried to be a good mother. Kyle only wants what’s best for his son. “You’re taking him out of spite,” he says. “Don’t do this.” If she cared about him, she wouldn’t do this. Tara has one card and isn’t giving up. “That’s how you see your son, as a bargaining chip.” Tara’s not a Locke or an Abbott but she’s not about to give up the one thing she has. “Control.” He can visit whenever he wants.
Nick finds Adam at Society and texts that he’s finished on his end. Phyllis texts back that she and Lauren are on it. He tells Adam that he and his wife are working on something. He tells his brother that Summer was coerced into leaving town and Kyle. They’ve got something brewing. Adam pities anyone who messes with his kid. They agree kids come first. Nick asks if Chelsea objected to him taking Connor home. Adam had to be delicate but it was tough. “You, delicate?” Adam knows it’s not his strong suit. Chelsea will stay with her mom for now, but even if she returns, they’re done. She can work for Newman Media. Nick thinks that sounds awkward but Adam states that they wouldn’t be working together. He knows it can be done. Nick and Sharon have done it. Nick agrees, they’ve worked out a peaceful arrangement. “It definitely takes a lot of work.” He’s there if Adam needs advice. They agree it feels strange without the occasional veiled threat. “We could go back to hating each other,” Nick says. Adam’s not sure what would happen to make them go back there. Nick knows that if he ruined things for Sharon they’d go back to that state. He asks his brother to stay away from Sharon just as Victor appears. He asks Nick to team up with him and Adam but Nick declines. He asks if Victoria and Ashland’s company is now their competitor. Victor’s proud of his daughter’s vision. Both men agree they’re worried about Victoria. Adam hopes she can keep her eye on the ball.
Back at Crimson Lights, Rey tells Sharon he can’t do much about Mariah going missing. Sharon asks him not to mention this in front of Faith. He lets her in on his conversation with Victor, who wants to hire him. Sharon’s surprised. Rey calls it an attractive offer but he turned it down. Sharon’s glad to hear.
Phyllis and Lauren walk into the Abbott home, unannounced. Lauren tells Tara that she learned why her accountant is holding back the financials from her company. “You’ve been stealing from your own company.” She snipes that Tara misrepresented the health of her own company to get more cash. “It’s called fraud.” Tara asks how Phyllis uncovered this. “You hacked my accounts?!” Phyllis nods, seemingly without a care in the world. “None of this is admissible,” Tara warns. Lauren tells her she’s wrong. Nick met with and spoke to her accountant and he’s flipping on her. The evidence has been sent to the authorities. “It’s over, Tara. It’s over,” Phyllis declares, as she lets two police officers into the house. Tara shakes her head in disbelief. The cop cuffs Tara as she continues to snap at Phyllis. “I hope you’re proud of yourself.” Phyllis smiles. She’s very proud of herself. As the cops take Tara away, she asks Kyle to check on Harrison. Kyle lets her know that this didn’t have to happen. He heads upstairs. Jack is surprised Lauren was in on this. They explain how they came to bring Tara down. Jack says, “Thank you, Red. I owe you an apology.” She texts Nick, “Victory!” Jack reels about everything that has happened. Lauren’s glad this deal didn’t go through but she can’t believe she made Sally head of JVC. Jack apologizes again. Lauren excitedly notes that Summer can come home now. Nick arrives and thanks Phyllis for what she did for their daughter. The women leave and Kyle returns. He let Harrison know that his mother went to New York ahead of time so his grandpa Jack can spend time with him. Jack thinks Tara will get a few years in jail. Jack encourages Kyle to call Summer. Instead, Kyle asks his dad to look after Harrison for a few days. He grabs his passport and asks his dad for a favor.

Adam calls and leaves a message for Sharon. He was thinking about her and may have made her uncomfortable with some things he said to her lately. He’s sorry and doesn’t want her to feel that way. “Don’t worry about me. I’m going to keep my distance,” he vows.
Back at Grand Phoenix, Phyllis is glad Nick helped her with Tara. He admits that her accountant didn’t like her and turned on her quickly. Nick hopes their kid realizes how lucky she is to have a mother like her.
Summer works from her apartment in Milan when a knock comes to the door. She opens the door to Kyle. “I came to take you home,” he says. Summer’s jaw drops and they kiss, passionately.
