Canadian Y&R day ahead recap for Tuesday, February 1, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Wednesday, February 2. (Recaps live by 5:45 PM EST daily.) In the previous episode, Sally has it out with Chelsea and Chloe and Victoria celebrates with family. In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Phyllis leaves town, Noah is upset with Tessa, and Devon’s happy to have shared custody but Abby is struggling.
At Society, Devon and Amanda finish eating. He’s ready to sign custody papers. “I brought my own pen,” he says with a smile. She tells him to let her know if she needs to amend anything. They leave and run into Christine at the door.
They’re surprised to see her. She asks if they didn’t get Abby’s text. she told them all she needed more time. They ponder about what that means. Christine knows the situation is disconcerting. She suggests the two give Abby time.
At home, Abby tells Chance that she delayed their custody meeting. She knows there are days when she can’t do things with him. She’ll miss him. Chance knows. She’s not having second thoughts, knowing Dom is just as much a part of Devon as he is to her. “How can I deny them a chance to spend their life together?” Chance hugs her and calls her a great mom. Abby decides she’s ready now and texts everyone to come over.
At Chancellor Industries, Lily has an interview and will come by Billy’s office after. He tells her he has some errands and takes off.

Phyllis sees Jack at Grand Phoenix. He checks if she’s made arrangements to travel. She’s leaving later today and is excited to see Summer. Nick appears and she talks about it being a fact-finding mission.
She tells Jack that she’ll fill him in on the trip and job when they have dinner together. Nick walks up and says he has big meetings coming up. He wonders if he can invite them there. Phyllis would love to help. Jack leaves and Nick asks if everything is alright.
Phyllis tells him about her trip and the job opportunity. She calls it all a dream come true. Nick asks how Jack fits in. He thought they were going to be together. Phyllis calls him a friend. Nick’s happy for her.
Tessa arrives at Crimson Lights. Mariah’s all dolled up. She wonders if it’s to much for the adoption attorney. Tessa thinks she looks great. Mariah texted Noah to see if he wants to meet for coffee but he hasn’t replied.
Tessa agrees he’s probably just busy with work. Mariah notes how her words came out and questions if there’s an issue. Tessa says, “It’s about your brother.”
She explains her run-in with Noah who admitted he still has feelings for her. “So my brother is still in love with you,” Mariah says. Tessa says he didn’t exactly say that. Mariah says her brother doesn’t have a malicious bone in his body.
If he said he was happy for them, she believes him. She’s not angry. She feels sorry for him since he had a broken heart in London. Maybe he fixated on her since she’s unattainable. Tessa thinks it’s possible since she’s happy and irreversibly spoken for. “You are the love of my life. We’re getting married. We’re inevitable.”
They hold hands as Noah watches from the door. He greets them and apologizes for not texting Mariah back. He and Mariah tease each other about work and they tell him they’ve an appointment with the adoption attorney. He wishes them luck and wanders off. The women think that he seems fine, now.
Outside, Jack meets Billy. Jack’s proud of his brother for stepping back with Adam. As they talk, Billy notes that Jack looks like he just lost his best friend. Jack tells his brother about Phyllis possibly moving and how their relationship hasn’t been sustainable.
Billy asks what it is about her inspires conflict, devotion and passion. Jack calls it a question for the ages. “She is one beautiful conundrum.”
Amanda, Christine and Devon arrive at the house. They apologize for the delay. Abby wanted to ensure Dom was looking his best since this is a big day for them all. After they sign, Amanda calls them all a family. Dominic rips off his hat and they all laugh.
Christine congratulates them and takes off. Devon thanks them and knows it”ll take time to get back what they had. “I’m fine,” Abby insists. Devon holds the boy and puts his fingers near Devon’s mouth, making him laugh. Devon holds him and wanders the room with him while Abby grips Chance’s hand and frowns.
Chance notices as they discuss the music class. Amanda suggests that Devon tag along with the class tomorrow. Abby tells them that Louise offered to help at their condo when Dom is there. They’re grateful. Abby thinks he’ll adjust quicker.
Dominic chews on his sweater and Devon thanks them for giving him the gift of family. Everyone goes and Chance comments on her holding him tight. He’s glad to be there for her. He invites her on a date when Dom goes to Devon’s. She’s alone la ter when she calls Ashley to tell her everything went well but it was the hardest thing she’s had to do. “But I know it’s the right thing to do.”
Lily arrives at Devon’s with a hug and congratulations. Devon is feeling joy. She welcomes him to parenthood. Devon will come to her for advice. She has advice to cherish him and not worry about the future.
Devon says it sounds like something Neil would have said. He used one of Neil’s pens to sign the agreement. Lily’s touched. Devon wishes Neil could have been here. He’s been thinking of Drew and Neil giving him a life. He has big shoes to fill. They talk about designing his room and putting in a sound system so he can listen to music. Amanda arrives. She filed the papers with the court.
She’s looking forward to this new chapter. They kiss and Lily gets the door. Billy arrives with champagne and congratulations. He says one is for today and the second bottle is to drink when Dominic graduates or starts work for him someday. Devon’s touched. They give him a memory book for the baby.
Jack returns to Grand Phoenix with a gift for Harrison. Phyllis agrees to deliver it. Nick wishes her well on her trip and leaves. She hugs Jack tears up as she says to tell her to stay. “Tell me you love me, that someone loves me and that we’ll have a future.” Jack calls her name. She’s daydreaming. When he asks if he can do anything she says he can.
He asks what that is and she seems frustrated and says nothing, so he goes. She calls for a car.
Nick meets Noah at Crimson Lights. They talk business and then Noah goes to get coffee. He find the ladies and invites them to have coffee on him. Tessa joins him and he says he can tell Tessa told his sister. “You mind telling me what possessed you to do that?” He asks.
She didn’t do it to hurt him. He tries to backtrack and she reminds him secrets almost ruined their relationship. That woman means everything to her. She’s not willing to hurt that. He’s worried about what she thinks of him.
Tessa tells him she understands and so does she. It’s better to have it in the open. Besides, their child will need his uncle Noah. She knows the right woman is out there waiting for him. She goes back to Mariah and Nick wishes them luck with the meeting.
They leave and Nick, who was watching Tessa and Noah talking, asks what was that about. Noah pretends he got a text from a friend who just rolled into town. He goes.
