In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Nick is tasked to tell Sharon that Rey is dead, while Victoria and Ashland are found, and Sharon confronts Chelsea. In the previous episode, Rey died and Ashland saved Victoria from a burning car after the accident.

At Society, Nick gets his parents to stay put while he goes to search for his sister. He implores them not to worry, but they can’t help it. Nikki wonders why his security detail haven’t called and Victor tries to calm her down.
He distracts her by asking if she wants chocolate cake. She knows what he’s doing.
In the cabin, Victoria is in shock. “Rey can’t be dead.” She doesn’t think she’s hearing things right. Ashland didn’t want to believe it either, but it’s true. Victoria says he must be wrong. “You don’t even know Rey.”
She knows him and how much he loves his wife. He adores her and she told her that he saved her life. “So no. No no, you can’t sit there and tell me that it’s Rey.” Ashland is sorry. She tells him to go check and see.
They owe it to him to ensure he gets help. “I know it’s not Rey.” She implores him to take her there, now. Maybe he’s injured or unconscious. Did he try CPR? Ashland says he’s gone.
He wasn’t breathing and had no pulse. He checked twice. Victoria sobs. She blames herself but Ashland says he was right behind her. It wasn’t her fault. A car approached and crossed the centre line.
He might have been trying to avoid something in the road. He doesn’t know but he swerved into her lane. It was so foggy. It was impossible to see anything. She asks if she was speeding. He tells her the police will figure it all out. They need to get to a hospital. She knows his hand hurts.
He’s more worried she has internal injuries. She insists she’s fine but can’t stand. Ashland examines her leg and she asks him to stop. He finds water and puts one on her knee to reduce swelling and gives her one to drink.
She thanks him for saving her and he admits she’s why he found strength to get out of his car. She tells him the irony of the real Ashland dying in a car crash isn’t lost on her. She asks why he followed her from Newman.
He already told her he knew she was upset and wanted to ensure she was alright. He loves her. She wonders if this was calculated but he says that’s not true.
At Crimson Lights, Chance tells stories about watching a hockey game to Connor. Sharon looks at her phone for word from Rey and paces. Chelsea finds Sharon and thinks it can’t be easy being married to a cop.
Sharon’s used to not hearing from him when he’s not working a case. She assumes whatever is keeping him is important. Chelsea brushes it off. It’s fine.
Sharon can tell she was looking forward to the game, too. She admits she was for Connor. Sharon isn’t accusing her…yet.
She can’t shake the feeling that there’s a connection between her and Rey and if she was out of the picture, Chelsea would have wanted something to happen. Chelsea’s eyes widen. She only considers Rey a friend.
Sharon had these feelings lately and she pretends they don’t exist. Chelsea calls him a great friend, knows how to be in a relationship with pain or drama but the reality is, he’s married and they’re happy.
Sharon thanks her for being honest. Chelsea says even if she had a fleeting feeling, it doesn’t matter. Sharon and Rey are amazing together.
She knows Rey loves Sharon as much as she loves him. Nearby, Chance goes to take a call about an accident with three cars involved. Sharon appears at his side.
He has to get back to work and promises to tell Sharon if he hears from Rey. Sharon, Chelsea and Connor hang out and discuss cookies. Sharon clarifies she wasn’t accusing Chelsea of anything and says if it came across that way, “It’s just been one of those nights.”
Chelsea gets ready to go. Once they leave, Sharon calls and leaves a message for Rey. She loves him and asks him to call to let her know he’s okay.

At Society, Nick calls his dad and tells him he’s at the scene of the wreckage. There are three cars and one is Victoria’s. She’s not there so they hope she went to find help with Ashland.
Nikki and Victor are shocked his car is there. Nick says the third car is Rey’s and he died. Sharon, Lola, Arturo… he says they’ll be heartbroken. Victor tells his son to stay put. They’re on their way.
Meanwhile, Chance shows up and he and Nick discuss the accident. Nick doesn’t know what to say. Rey was his partner. Chance explains Rey was going home to get tickets for the hockey game.
They discuss how Sharon should find out. Chance has to stay there so suggests Nick tell her. Nick worries it’ll shatter her. Chance will call if he has word on his sister or Ashland.
Nikki and Victor find the cabin in the woods and rush in and hug Victoria. She asks after Rey and heard he died. She thinks he’s wrong. Nikki says the paramedics are handling everything.
Victor confesses that Rey died and Nicholas went to tell Sharon. Victoria cries. Victor asks what the heck Ashland is doing there and if he’s responsible. Victoria tells them she swerved and crashed into a tree. She details how Ash saved her life.
Nick arrives at Crimson Lights and approaches Sharon. He tells her that they haven’t found Victoria yet. She wasn’t with her car. Sharon thinks that’s good news. She offers to wait with him. She’ll put on the coffee. He tries to interrupt.
She talks about all the baking she’s done and that Rey will flip when he sees it. She keeps talking and Nick listens. She rambles about him liking brownies and his cast iron stomach. Nick finally says, “There’s something I need to tell you.” She knows.
She starts to cry and asks him to give her a minute before he tells her what she thinks he’s about to tell her. “Rey was involved in the accident,” he says. Sharon sobs into her hands.
He tells her that Ashland and Victoria were involved. There was nothing the EMT could do for Rey. Sharon bends over, sobbing. “I can’t.” Nick holds her while she cries.
