Imani Encourages Nate to Get Ruthless & Nick Gives Sally a Second Chance After She Screws Up, Warns Her to Get Adam Out of Her System

In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Chloe gets fed up with Sally, Nate goes sniffing for a job at Newman, and Billy tries to get Lily to relax. In the previous episode, Sally forgave Adam and he wanted more than friendship, and Devon tore apart Nate’s plan before Nate quit.

Nick stops by his sister’s office at Newman. She boasts about how successful her acquisition trip was. It’s a game changer. He hasn’t seen her this happy since the merger.

“This time it’s mine,” she says. If she’s happy, he’s happy. She says one of the reasons for that is him. Having him and their mom to rely on is nice. They are unbeatable.

He hates to bring down the mood, but Victor wants him to fire Sally and take her place. She wonders why. Her brother assumes it’s to retaliate against Adam.

Victoria never anticipated Adam and Jack getting together. He complains about how manipulative and vindictive their father is being.

She shrugs that off. That’s just how their father is. What does he want? Nick is tired of being part of their father’s mind games. He admits he is also concerned Sally is now second-guessing herself.

Victoria doesn’t think that’s a good sign and wonders what happened to knock her off kilter.

He assumes Adam is behind it.

Although Nick makes excuses for Sally, his sister is not impressed. This isn’t a charity. He thinks it would be bad for optics to replace her so quickly. She can probably grow in the job.

She’s been impressed by Sally’s loyalty but that’s not enough of a reason to keep her around. She gets a text about Sally not showing up for a marketing meeting.

“What urgent meeting were you in?” miffed Chloe asks.

Sally thought that was in two hours. Chloe had to do the presentation on her own. She did her best but everyone was confused and annoyed the boss was a no-show.

Sally reluctantly admits that she was with Adam. Chloe laughs bitterly. Her friend tells her she finally has absolute clarity about him. They had a civil conversation and it felt good.

She was almost overwhelmed by their chemistry but put on the breaks. Chloe thinks he’s screwing with her job. Sally says missing one meeting is not the end of the world and she’s overreacting.

Nick walks in. Sally wonders if he’s brought bad news. He asks about the marketing summit. Sally prompts Chloe to explain and she claims that her boss gave her the spotlight.

He knows Sally wasn’t really there, even if they are trying to make it sound like she was. Nick hopes she has a reasonable explanation.

Sally admits she screwed up and offers to make it up to everyone. He sends Chloe out and tells Sally he’s one of the only people who want to
see her succeed. He needs to understand why she missed the meeting.

She admits she was with Adam. She’s been trying to clarify her feelings. Their relations have been defrosting and they can have a conversation without things turning ugly.

“That’s good I guess,” he shrugs. This whole mess with Adam has clearly done a number on her and she doesn’t seem able to get past it.

She knows that Adam was being noble now but that doesn’t make it better. It was twisted. Nick admits he doesn’t hate his brother. He’s realized they have common ground and he’s come to understand him better.

Sally insists she’s fine. He can’t ignore her missing the meeting. It’s bad for how people perceive her and he needs assurances she can do her job. She swears she won’t let anyone come between her and her dream job.

Nick points out she is already letting Adam get in the way. He’s confident she can succeed if she gets him out of her system.

Once he leaves, Chloe returns. Sally says she’s grateful Nick is giving her a second chance and wonders how to fix this.

Her friend tells her that means cutting Adam out. Sally wishes she would see that she thought Adam was the love for her. They are cut from the same cloth and she can’t erase him from her heart because everyone tells her to.

Nate reminds her that hated the bureaucracy there and his old position has been filled. He’d only go back as a surgeon and that can never happen because of Devon.

She thinks he’s conflating different things. He doesn’t want to discuss this anymore. She’d like to map out their future at dinner and takes off.

Nate spots Victoria and walks over to her to ask about how things are going at Newman.
