In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Ashland continues to push Nate to work for him, while Victoria questions why, Adam and Sally have sex again, Imani and Amanda start a new venture, and Phyllis admits what she has decided on doing about Jack. In the previous episode, Rey talked to Chance about his issues and Abby begged her husband to open up.

At Society, Victor and Victoria discuss Sally being COO. Victor finds it an interesting choice, which surprises Victoria, since he wasn’t happy initially. Victor tells his daughter that he spoke with Adam and Sally, who were convincing.
Victoria thinks this is another test but he just wants unity in the family. They’ve all made mistakes, but Victor believes in his son.
In Adam’s office, Sally tells Adam that she’s been up working late and has ideas to best work their audience. She wants to offer subscription deals and up-sale them on other platforms. “Is it genius or genius?”
He finds it simplistic but a good idea. He worries she hasn’t seen the complexity of the merger. Things won’t be as easy as she thinks. She says she has consulted with the Chief Marketing Officers of both companies who are receptive and motivated to collaborate.
Adam says they should put a pin in this idea for the moment. Sally disagrees. He asks her to finish the conversation in a public place. “Where we can focus?”
Lily’s been up for hour working and on her second pot of coffee when Billy gets up. He was up at 3 AM working until 4 AM. He did some good work. They drink coffee and joke about how he’s ahead of her.
He is starting to like the idea of the podcast. Lily wants to ensure it doesn’t take time from his COO duties. He talks about how fulfilling it is that he’s made so many changes.

Ashland meets with Nate at Crimson Lights. Ash asks if he’s ready for the professional change they’ve talked about. Nate says he doesn’t like the paperwork at his job but he deflects.
Ash comments that he hates seeing him unfulfilled and frustrated when he can use his talents for other things aside from paperwork. He wants Nate’s help with merging the healthcare divisions and tech division.
Ashland thinks Nate could take his empathy and use it on a bigger level. He could make a global change.
At the desk at the Grand Phoenix, Phyllis and Amanda talk about her time in Milan and Phyllis tells her friend she’s not leaving Genoa City. Amanda notices Jack nearby on a call and asks if he’s the reason she’s sticking around.
Her friendship with him, Amanda and Michael factored into it. Phyllis isn’t going to have a romantic relationship with Jack, she reveals.
His friendship is important to her. She inevitably screws things up with him. As much as she wants to, she knows it won’t work. Amanda disagrees but she won’t try to change her mind.
Jack approaches and Amanda tells them about her job offer. Phyllis is shocked to hear. Imani turns up and Amanda says she’ll tell Phyllis all about it later when they catch up.
She goes to sit with Imani and Phyllis asks if Jack received anymore mysterious texts. Jack hasn’t but says he suspects someone is playing games. Phyllis is very curious but Jack says he isn’t. She asks to look at it.
Nearby, Amanda shares the corporate law job with her sister. Imani isn’t sure about this. Amanda wanted time to take down Sutton, which is why she left ChancComm. It was all media-related there.
Heading up the legal department of a massive corporation wouldn’t get boring. The perks and pay are top notch, too. Imani smiles. Amanda says they can work together, too.
Sally and Adam drop by Society and Victoria and Victor’s table. While Victoria says they’ll meet later to talk business, she invites them to sit and talk with Victor. She goes and Sally tells The Mustache that things are going well.
She’s excited and finds Adam a terrific boss. He jokes that he didn’t pay her to say that. Adam agrees that things are going well.
He asks Sally to give them a moment. She goes to the bar and Victor reminds his son to keep tabs on Ashland. Adam will. Victor thinks Sally’s very good for him. “The respect is mutual,” He says. They’ve a lot in common. He goes to Sally.
She eats his fruit and talks about needing to burn off energy at the gym. Adam thinks he has a better idea in how to get some cardio in. “Check please!” Sally says. Adam grins and shakes his head.
Victoria sits with Nate and Ashland at Crimson Lights and learns Nate’s not ready to turn in his stethoscope yet but he’s interested in that position. Victoria admits she’d feel bad if he left Memorial.
Ashland reminds her she’s supposed to be on his side. Victoria can’t help it. Nate’s her friend. He has to chose the path that’s right for him.
They all grin at one another and when Nate leaves, Victoria is curious as to why her husband is so intent on asking Nate to leave the medical field. Ashland just thinks he’s unhappy. He also thinks it’s best to surround yourself with allies. He trusts Nate. They discuss the dynamic between Victor and Adam.
Adam can’t get his key card to work at Grand Phoenix. He can’t believe they got the room since Phyllis banned Sally from the hotel. They finally get inside and start ripping off each other’s clothing.
They kiss and make love on the bed and afterwards, discuss business. She asks what Victor wanted to discuss privately. Adam calls it a family thing. Sally thinks family equals business. She offers to help if he talks to her. “Did you just get me naked so you could pump me for information?”
She says no but that gives her an idea. They laugh and she tells him trust is important. Adam thinks Ashland is falling out of favor with his father.
Sally admits she thinks Ashland’s always working an angle. She asks if he’s going to spy. Adam says he isn’t sure.
Part of it bothers him, playing his dad’s game. She understands that it must feel like his dad’s undermining him. Adam says, “Exactly.” He’s earned his position. Sally thinks he needs to look out for him. “Don’t freak out but I get you.” He kisses her and says, “Who is freaking out?”
At Society, Nate has finished filling Elena in on Ashland luring him in to Newman/Locke. Elena reminds him of who Ashland really is and that Victoria is not the warmest person. Nate knows.
He saw a competitive dynamic between them. Nate does think of all the good he can do but Elena tells him to think long and hard.
Imani and Amanda arrive at Billy’s and they accept the jobs. Lily is excited and Billy invites them inside. They promise it won’t be boring. Imani appreciates this and plans on working her butt off. They get to work.
Later, once the women are gone, Billy and Lily talk about how well the meeting went. Lily’s feeling confident about this job. They kiss.
At Crimson Lights, Imani and Amanda talk about getting someone to takeover their lease and their clients. It’s a big move but Imani is grateful and thanks her sister. Imani asks if she has a history with Billy.
Amanda calls them friends who helped each other through rough patches. Imani calls him interesting.
Victor gets a video call from Michael who is in Peru. He talks about the food there and Victor says to get to it already. Michael says he talked to a man who was fired from the clinic for questioning the decisions the bosses made.
There was a story about treatment and Ashland’s condition. The man offered to tell him for a price.
Michael wants Victor’s authorization to pay the man a fee. Victor says to pay whatever he wants. He needs incontrovertible proof of Locke’s deception.

Phyllis informs Traci that someone is sending Jack cryptic messages, trying to get him to come to Los Angeles. She thinks Jack’s son Keemo has something to do with it.
