In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Nikki lets Diane have a piece of her mind, Kyle and Jack reconnect, and Nikki blasts Locke for staying in town while Adam muses about going to Sharon in her time of need. In the previous episode, Sharon decides where Rey should be buried and the family reminisces about Rey’s life.

At the Abbott mansion, Kyle sends Harrison to get cookies from Mrs. Martinez and to himself, says he can’t wait to hear his father’s news.
Nikki sees Diane for the first time after her “death” and snipes at her about pulling something like this and thinking she can show her face in Genoa City after what she’s done. Where has she been?
She was trying to gather herself together. Nikki says she was charged with murder, and is sure Diane enjoyed that. Diane denies that. Phyllis tells her that she came back to face the music. “Start singing!” Diane crossed some terrible people and was terrified to show herself.
Nikki snipes that while she did that, she ruined her life. “If you’re gonna play dead, you could have had the courtesy to stay that way.” She tells Diane about the fear and anxiety and not knowing who was really responsible for her faked death. Phyllis asks if she is the one who had Deacon blackmail her. Diane denies it. Jack receives a text as Nikki yells that Diane could have ended this nightmare.
Jack needs to go. He drags Phyllis with him when Nikki insists on staying. Phyllis says it’s not like Nikki can go to prison for the same crime. She grabs a lamp and unplugs it. “Just in case, I’m taking this lamp.”
They go and Diane says she’d like to make amends. She knows Nikki has changed and grown since then. “Weren’t you drinking?” Nikki purses her lips. That had nothing to do with what happened.
Diane says she won’t repeat the mistakes of the past. Nikki doesn’t believe it. She’s the same conniving “bitch” she’s ever been. She’s sure everyone will see right through it. Nobody ever wanted her in town, she tells the woman and says nobody will want her back now. She takes off.
At Society, Sally reels from hearing the news that Rey’s dead. She doesn’t know Sharon well but could tell she was content and Rey adored her. Adam’s glad Noah and her other kids are around her.
He has thought about reaching out but doesn’t think it’d go over well with her family, considering their history. Sally’s surprised. “You can’t even express your condolences to a friend?”
He says she has enough to handle now. Sally still thinks he should reach out. Adam wonders what Ashland was doing near his sister in the first place.
He sees Locke nearby and jumps up and rushes him, demanding to know what the heck he’s still doing in Genoa City. Ashland never agreed to leave town.
Adam asks why he’d want to stay. Ashland takes a sip and Adam can see it’s about his sister. Ashland thinks he wants to see Victoria taken down a peg. Adam says he’s doing the opposite.
He lifted her up by eliminating Locke from her life. Adam calls the man a parasite. He asks about the boot on his foot and the bandage on his hand.
Ashland says he received wounds from pulling Victoria from a burning car. Adam shrugs. He assumes the man is faking injuries the way he faked cancer. He happily tells the man that there’s nobody who holds a grudge like his sister.
Sharon stares at photos at her house and thanks Nick for suggesting she eat. She feels better.
He offers that it may be too much for her to say goodbye to Rey at the morgue. She needs to do this. To see him once more.
They embrace and Victoria shows up. Sharon looks away. Victoria apologizes and offers help if she needs it. Sharon thanks her and has a lot of love and support around her.
Nick says they were about to take off. Sharon says she has to go get something. She goes to the top of the stairs and tries to breathe. While she’s there, Nick questions why Ashland was with her.
She blames herself but Nick blames Ashland. Sharon returns. She’s not looking for anyone to blame and doesn’t want Victoria to feel guilty. Victoria appreciates that.

Victoria waits at Crimson Lights to get coffee when Chelsea turns up. Victoria thinks she must be fine with Rey’s death since she tried to off him a year ago. This surprises Chelsea who calls Rey her friend.
She tells Victoria the reason Rey was on the road, getting the hockey tickets for her son to take him to a game. Victoria didn’t know. Chelsea becomes overcome and tears up as she explains. Victoria’s sorry for her loss.
Chelsea calls him a great man. “One of the greatest men I’ve ever known.” Victoria goes and Nick and Sharon turn up. Chelsea tells her how sorry she is. Nick suggests he take her home but Sharon has some things to do.
Chelsea thinks she should be mourning. “I shouldn’t be mourning at all,” she says, voice raised.
Adam and Sally sit around his office and talk about Locke still being in town. Victor turns up and Adam shares the news that Locke’s bellied up to the bar at Society. Victor asks what he’s still doing in town.
Adam has no idea but thinks the man is cooking something up. Victor snipes that “bastard” hasn’t done enough. He feels mocked. Sally asks after Victoria and hears she’s alright, but Rey’s death added another layer of trauma to her.
He doesn’t think Adam should go see Sharon. Sally asks why. Victor says others would misinterpret it. Adam doesn’t want her to think he doesn’t care about what she’s going through.
At the Abbott mansion, Kyle hugs his father and then Phyllis, telling her that Summer asked him to do this since she can’t be here herself. Phyllis smiles and says thanks, though it isn’t the same.
They discuss where Harrison is and how tragic Rey’s death is. Phyllis heads back to work and Kyle asks his father why he asked him to come home.
Jack brings up mourning Keemo and getting to know Allie, with whom he hopes Kyle will get to meet soon. He wants him to know the whole story about who lead him to this story and why.
He admits all the texts he was getting was about Kyle. Kyle furrows his brow. Jack tells him he’ll support anything he wants to do with this news. Kyle worries and Jack finally says, “Your mother Diane, is alive.
She’s here and she wants to see you.” Kyle looks stunned.
Back at Grand Phoenix, Ashland goes to Phyllis. He tells her Kyle texted him and he hasn’t heard back from him since he got into town. Phyllis says they can bring Harrison to him and Victoria’s house to meet.
She heard about his burns from the accident. He brushes her concerns off. Nikki wanders by and snaps at Locke for not leaving town.
Ashland explains that it’s because he’s still in love with her daughter. Nikki appreciates him dragging her form the car, but it doesn’t excuse his lies, deceit and pain he caused Victoria.
Nikki thinks he’s making things worse. He only wants to ensure she recovers from the accident. Nikki snaps that her family will do that. Ashland says short of murder, they’re not going to get rid of him. “We’ll see about that,” Nikki sniffs.
Victor meets Vicky in her office and lets her know Locke’s still in town. She knows, but their marriage is being annulled. It’s fine. It’s not an issue. She’s moving on.
Victor doesn’t look convinced but she doesn’t plan on falling for his lies again. He hugs her as she apologizes for everything. He tells her she doesn’t have a damned thing to feel sorry for.
