In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Sally and Adam discuss his next move, Lily has misgivings about Billy’s last podcast, and Jack rounds up the troops to test Diane. In the previous episode, Sharon planned Rey’s memorial with family and Ashland went to Jack with the truth.

Diane dreams that she’s at Crimson Lights when Jack and Kyle sic a cop on her. She’s arrested as Jack tells her she turned her own back on her child. Diane turns in her sleep and dreams that she yells that she loves Kyle.
She tells the cop that it was the hardest decision of her life. The empty place in her heart started to heal when she saw Kyle. Jack yells, “You know how to tell she’s lying? She moves her mouth.” The cop tells her that she has the right to remain silent, and Kyle says that’ll never happen.
She’s cuffed and struggles as she’s carted off. Jack yells, “Have some dignity. Do the right thing for once.” She wakes up.
At home, Jack and Kyle talk about how soon, Harrison will make decisions that will make Kyle nervous. Jack asks if he’s been in contact with his mom since he told her he’d give her a second chance. Kyle hasn’t. “Having second thoughts?” Jack asks.
“Big time,” Kyle says, downing some coffee. He goes to get some cookies from Mrs. Martinez and tells his dad he can’t sleep. He keeps thinking of the awful things his mother has done.
How can he reconcile that woman to the one she says she is now? He can’t get over her pretending to be dead. Jack asks if she explained. He says yes, it sounded plausible but rehearsed.
Jack thinks that’s what’s keeping him awake. Kyle’s unsure of what to do now. He needs time to figure out if she’s really changed or if it’s his wishful thinking.
He doesn’t think he can be objective and needs Jack’s help. Jack admits he feels the same as his son. He even tried to put himself in her shoes. He has to wonder if Diane made the right choice just this once, in leaving the way she did. Jack doesn’t condone anything she’s done. Kyle knows. Jack wonders if he’d ever have seen Kyle again if she kidnapped him.
He recalls his own mother leaving him behind and how angry it made him. He knows how Kyle feels and says it’s a miracle that he found some understanding and forgiveness for Dina. He tears up.
It’s one of the greatest gifts of his life, something he wants for Kyle. He’s not sure the woman changed, but maybe Diane did the right thing this once. It was probably the toughest decision she’s ever made. Kyle wishes they could test her.
He texts his mother and Jack thanks him. “I’ll take care of the rest.”

Billy meets Lily at Society. They talk about The Grinning Soul, his podcast. He tells her how well it’s doing. She tells him that it’s obvious that he’s talking about Ashland, even though he hasn’t said names.
He tells her that’s the whole point of using a voice scrambler. She does love the idea of the anonymous podcast but he confronted Ashland and turned around and vented about it on air.
Billy defends himself again, stating that she only knows who he was talking about because she knows the players. The average listener won’t know. Lily thinks Victoria will see through him.
He doesn’t see the harm, but Lily worries about how this will make her look. He thinks it’ll show her as sympathetic. She wonders what Ashland would do if he figures it out. Billy hopes so.
He wants to see the expression on Locke’s face. Lily doesn’t want him to lose the podcast. He doesn’t, either but doesn’t think Victoria will even listen. She has bigger fish to fry. Billy gets a call from Jack who calls a family meeting.
She reminds him he has the work meeting. He’ll go to see his siblings afterward.
At the office, Adam tells Sally that his sister picked Nikki as co-CEO instead of him. He wasn’t even warned. He calls it another of his dad’s mind games.
He’s not sure why he wastes time thinking he’ll get another chance. It’s their pattern. Sally feels awful. He asks for suggestions on what he should do and she thinks he should cut ties with the Newmans altogether and strike out on his own.
He’s tried. It only feels like he’s conceding. She asks if that’s the worst thing in the world, but he says he’s the one who came up with the idea to get rid of Locke.
Sally reminds him he’s talented and inspired and capable of making moves on his own. Adam considers it. Would she really be okay with him leaving her there on her own to deal with his family?
She hates hypotheticals but says she’d keep her job and try to win his family over. She loves her job and calls it rare to find someone like him who makes her laugh, wants the same things as her.
She finally feels she’s with someone on her level. He likes that she has his back but feels like if he walks away, it’ll be like him giving up. On the other hand, if he stays, he’ll be craving his dad’s approval.
Sally gets that his approval means a lot to him. Sally doesn’t think he should have to battle for recognition. Whatever he decides, she’ll support him.
Sally and Adam arrive at Grand Phoenix. They wait for the elevator and when Diane leaves the car, Adam calls her name. “Welcome to the Resurrection Club.
First rule of Resurrection Club is we don’t talk about Resurrection Club.” She’s surprised that he isn’t shocked to see her. He lets her know that the word is out about her.
How can stand to look at herself in the mirror? She shrugs him off. He thinks her faked death was impressive and says once you’ve escaped, it’s best not to come back. He should know. Sally watches, obviously curious and finally introduces herself as someone who works with Adam.
Diane says she noticed they were headed upstairs together and infers that there’s more to it. He ignores her and she takes pot shots at him. He calls her on it but she denies it.
She can see he’s made a different life for himself. She wants a second chance for herself. He hopes so. He doesn’t have the same beef with her that the rest to. “Good luck,” he says. She thanks him and takes off.
They head to Sally’s room and make out. The clothes come off and they fall to the bed, making out, before sex. After sex, he asks her why she’s so perfect. Not just her beautiful face or the things she can do with her body, but that she didn’t bombard him with questions about Diane. “Are you ready?” He asks. She jumps. “Yes.”
He tells her the woman is driven and he helped her when it worked to his advantage. He worked with her to make it look like Victor was dead to drive down Newman stock. “You didn’t!” Sally exclaims.
He agreed to try to help her to escape the mess that was her life. He’s done a lot he wasn’t proud of but some was semi-noble. She thinks he’s grown. He calls himself a work in progress. He’s happy being with someone who can meet him on his level. They kiss some more.
Ashley, Abby, and Traci turn up at the Abbott manse. Jack says Billy’s running late. Jack and Kyle tell their siblings that Diane’s on her way over. Ashley and Abby bark at him.
They hate this. Ashley knows that whatever Diane has told him is just an act.
Abby asks how he’s doing with all this. Ashley thinks she wants to use him. Abby wonders if she finally wants to do the right thing. Jack is just as skeptical but they all know what it’s like to be estranged from their mother.
Ashley yells at Jack for daring to go there. Traci plays the calmer sister and stops the argument in its tracks. Ashley apologizes. Kyle admits he isn’t sure how to feel. Is she lying or not? It’s why he called them there.
They’ll be able to tell. Ashley’s in and can’t wait to grill her. Kyle wants to get to the truth but Ashley just can’t believe she’s had a magical transformation.
Diane arrives. She was excited to get Kyle’s text. When she head into the room, she sees the firing squad that are his aunts. Ashley says, “Welcome back, bitch!” Traci is cordial while Abby glares.
Kyle explains why she’s there. She has a history with them all. Jack says they were each affected one way or another. Kyle says she has to accept that, just like they need to figure out of she’s changed.

Sally and Adam sit in the office. Adam says he made a decision. He wants Newman Enterprises. “Every single bit of it.”
Jack introduces the whole family to Allie Nguyen, who is in Genoa City.
Michael sits at a bar stool with Diane. “You were dead.” She says, “And now I”m not.” He runs a hand through his hair. “It’s pretty good to see you.”
