Soaps Spoilers has the Canadian Y&R day ahead recap for Thursday, October 21, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Friday, October 22. (Recaps live by 5:45 PM EST daily.) In the previous episode, Lauren tearfully ripped Sally a new one. In this episode, Tessa and Mariah kiss and have a date, Noah returns to Genoa City, and Lily and Billy wonder if Victor has something else up his sleeve.
Sharon’s in shock when Noah walks into Crimson Lights with Nick. They embrace and he tells her he needed a break and wanted to visit home. Sharon decides to take the whole day off. They hug again. She grins happily.

Tessa wakes up alone. Mariah’s on her laptop. She goes to her and snuggles her. Mariah thanks her for the bear. She tells her girlfriend that they have a lot to discuss. She now sees springing the idea of Tessa getting pregnant when they have never discussed it before…” I just don’t know what I was thinking.” Tessa knows she was traumatized. Mariah calls herself selfish and misguided. She feels awful. “I’m so incredibly sorry.” Nothing matters than what they’ve built. They hold hands and Tessa kisses Mariah’s hand as she talks about processing her feelings for Dominic. Tessa thinks Mariah’s smart and strong which makes her feel like she’s falling in love with her all over again. She leans in and kisses Mariah. They agree to go to Society for a bite to eat and kiss again.

At Abby’s, Ashley holds Dom and tells her daughter that she screamed all the time when she was a baby. She’d be around mothers who bragged at how their babies slept like logs. They laugh and get talking about how much Abby misses Chance. She goes on and on about him and can’t find a silver lining. Ashley can see she’s frustrated. She repeats herself that she doesn’t know what the mission entails, she’s his wife! They discuss how Mariah seems to be doing better. When Christine calls with news, Abby agrees she can come over. They disconnect and Abby ponders why Christine needs to come over to tell her. Ash doesn’t want her to get her hopes up. Christine turns up and her mood is somber as she tells Abby, “There are reports coming in from the city that Chance is working in.” She can’t say where but admits he was transferred for the final portion of his assignment. Things just progressed quickly and the location of his mission was hit by a bomb in the middle of the night.”Ashley and Abby look grim. Christine goes on, “The building was leveled. The state department put out a statement, fearing that there are no survivors.” Ashley seems to think that sounds vague and asks for more information. Christine has none. Abby cries. “That’s gotta be a mistake.” She thinks she’d somehow feel it if he died.
Ashland and Victoria take a meeting in her office. He’s surprised at how fast things piled up since they’ve been married. She asks if he has regrets. He doesn’t but knows he gave her some reasons. She has none. She’s happy he’s her husband and business partner. She doesn’t want to hear Bobby, Camila, or Jesse’s names again. Later, Ash is on social media, looking for leaks about his criminal past. He says Gaines can still be a wild card. She wants to talk honeymoon and he laughs. They got back to a mountain of work. She tells him they’ll finish it and go on a trip. He tells her he’ll make it happen but she already handled it. He’ll never guess what it is. They giggle at each other.

Lily tells Billy that flying wears her out. Billy agrees but he’s clearly wired and pacing. He tells her he won’t reveal to the world who her husband really is but is surprised that Gaines hasn’t revealed all since he said he would. It doesn’t matter. Victori and Adam are the real threat. Lily wonders if he just did it to unnerve him. “Clearly it’s worked.” They agree that this isn’t Victor’s MO. Maybe he’s hoping to throw them off their game. Lily assumes that he wants to distract them. They talk about Jesse’s grudge and go over and over why he could have changed his mind about revealing all. They wonder what Adam and Victor did and as they talk, they assume Victor wanted to distract them from questioning if they hurt Gaines to keep him quiet.
At Society, Sharon and Nick sit with Noah and talk about his place in the UK, which sounds elegant and beautiful. She questions them about the drama about Victoria’s wedding gown and they fill her in on Sally’s dress. Sharon’s shocked but thinks she looked radiant. Sharon asks about Noah’s life and wonders why he doesn’t want to go back to the UK. He says very little. They question him more. He claims he doesn’t want to get stuck in a rut. He asks about Faith and school. Sharon thinks he should talk to the source. They notice that he deflects and changes the subject when they talk about him. Noah goes to see Mariah and Tessa, while Nick shares what happened in Tuscany to some extent about finding out some dirt on Ashland and that it damaged his relationship with his sister. Sharon’s caring and supportive about it and they talk about Noah hiding something. Nearby, Noah tells the women that he’s glad to be back home. Mariah seems puzzled about why he’s back. He just says he missed home. He was sorry to her about her kidnapping. She admits things have been tough and clutches Tessa’s hand. Noah comments they seem happy. “It’s one thing to find love. It’s another to hold on to it.” He goes back to his folks. Mariah thinks there’s a story there. Tessa’s just glad they’re all in a good place now. They kiss and Mariah wants to give Dominic the teddy bear Tessa gave her. She’s not being obsessive. She thinks the baby would just like it. They go. At Noah’s table, he tells his mama that Mariah seems okay. They get back to talking about Tuscany.

Christine tells Abby and Ashley, “I just got off the phone with my contact at the bureau. He has some intel on the bombing.”
