In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Billy does self-reflection, Chance and Rey’s stakeout ends in what sounds like gun shots while Chelsea has a dream about kissing Rey. In the previous episode, Ashland put Adam in his place at work.

At the condo, Billy and Lily finish up some work. Lily’s wiped out and worries about Billy when he tells her he’s too wired to sleep. He assures that it’s a phase. He’ll be in soon. She kisses him and goes, leaving him to wonder what’s going on with himself.
He does some research on how to get a good night’s sleep online. He finds some tips such as limiting alcohol, caffeine, turning off screens and getting exercise. He reads about reflecting and mediating on thoughts and puts his laptop down.
He considers what he just read and then disregards tip number one and drinks alcohol. He doesn’t think he has any fears or frustrations. He decides to try mediation. He gets out his recorder and talks about being too tired to type.
He talks about some saying he likes the sound of his own voice and that they’d be right. “Who are you? What are you?” He says he’s a man who had everything and lost almost everything, and got it all back except Delia.
Billy talks about how he was an idiot who fought wars for no good reason because he didn’t acknowledge what he had. He knows that’s a recipe for disaster and wonders what he’s learned. Maybe he worries he can’t break free from his past or be who he really is.
He can’t lie to himself to justify his mistakes and thinks the night is when you think about the dumb things you say. He thinks he’s in a great place and credits Lily as she walks down the stairs.
She eavesdrops as he wonders what’s keeping him restless at night and if there is something eating at him. He spots Lily on the stairs and hopes he didn’t wake her up.
He lets her know that he’s having a therapy session with himself. He lets her listen as he talks about going down that rabbit hole with Adam and how he has to make the decision to become the bigger man and let that grudge with Adam go.
He says still, sometimes is missing. Lily calls it deep. He calls it liberating and links how far he’s come to her. They kiss. Later, she’s gone when he starts monologing again and wonders if he’ll backslide. He tells himself he’s on a roll right now and that he should make the change to level up his life.
At the Chancellor estate, Abby worries the baby is picking up on her stress. Chance calms her nerves and thinks the baby will be fine. Devon wouldn’t have gone home unless he was. She doesn’t understand how his red blood cell count could be so low. She worries the bone marrow aspiration will be painful. They embrace as she confesses, “I’m so scared.”
Chance tells her to fight her fears. She is consumed with what-ifs. He urges her to go have a bath and she smiles and thanks him. He’s dealing with so much and caring for her. She’s grateful that he’s there. He says she’s the one who has been patient with him. She goes to get her rubber ducky and he calls Rey to apologize for bailing.
He asked what he missed. Rey says they’re doing surveillance on a suspect in a string of robberies. Chance is intrigued. He invites himself along.
Chance talks to Dominic and says, “I need you to be okay. You hear me?” He tells the child he can count on him. He’ll do what he can to get him through this. Abby reappears, smelling delicious.
Chance comments on it and lets her know he was comforting the baby. He tells her about the stakeout. She asks what happened to postpone his return. He admits he’s not going to sleep because of Dom. She tells him to go and be careful.

Chelsea tosses and turns in her bed at the Grand Phoenix and thinks about Adam telling her they have no future. She sighs and recalls asking if he was falling for Sally Spectra.
She finally gets her phone and calls Chloe. “I can’t sleep.” She wants to go over the business plan for Lauren. Chloe says she’s up with Bella who had a nightmare. Chelsea is shocked that Kevin watched a horror movie with her. They disconnect and Chelsea calls down to get her car pulled around.
Chelsea finds Rey at Crimson Lights. She sits with him and says she need herbal tea. Rey says Bruce is shutting things down because Sharon went home. Rey explains he’s there for coffee since he’s on a stakeout. Chelsea assumes Sharon worries about him risking his life. He thinks Sharon’s used to it.
Chelsea recalls being involved in a con with her mama. Rey asks if that was scary but Chelsea says it was normal for her. Rey smiles. She recalls Anita staying up late at night trying to figure out how to sucker some poor guy out of cash.
She calls her and Anita team back then. Rey thinks it’s warped. Chelsea realized it when she was older. He talks about why he became a cop and she explains that being a con-woman was a way of life until she was pregnant.
She knew then she had to become a better person. She knows she’s made mistakes. They both laugh over that. He thinks she’s changed and calls it admirable. She wonders if it makes a difference.
She’s still lonesome and alone. Rey knows she has Connor and will raise him differently. She tells him about this real estate heiress who was missing a necklace. Anita knew the type as the perfect mark.
Chance walks up and interrupts. He’s fascinated. Adam told him about her past and he was intrigued. He asks her to go on with her story so she tells them about how Anita forged documents and got an outfit for her to disguise herself as the heiress.
The men are impressed by the story and how she walked away. Chelsea’s glad Rey didn’t judge her. Rey gets a text and the men have to go to work. She wishes them luck and goes. Chance reveals this is what he needs to be doing right now.
Chelsea arrives at the hotel and looks around. She grabs a pillow and decides to sleep on the sofa.
In some dark alley, Rey tells Chance that there have been break-ins in this area. They have no clues or prints but it seems like the perp is daring them to catch him. Rey thinks he’ll strike tonight based on some data they have taken.
Rey asks after the baby and learns about the bone marrow aspiration. He says Abby’s been worried. Chance has been as well. Rey recalls that feeling with Faith and then Connor. They see a guy disabling the security system.
Rey wants Chance to come ate the guy from the other side. Rey approaches the east side of the house and Chance hears what sounds like a gunshot. He gasps and clutches his heart.
Chance returns home to a sleeping Abby. She awakens, surprised he’s back so soon. She asks if he’s alright. He insists he’s fine but felt his place was there with her and Dom. They embrace.
Chelsea wakes up on her sofa at Grand Phoenix and Rey walks in. He calls her the most complicated and intriguing woman he’s ever met. “I’m mesmerized.”
He can’t stop thinking about her and says there’s something about her dark past that fascinates him. They start making out and Chelsea wakes up with a start.
