Canadian Y&R day ahead recap for Thursday, December 2, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Friday, December 2. (Recaps live by 5:45 PM EST daily.) In the previous episode, Billy accused Jill of siding with the enemy. In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Jill is thrilled to see Chance, Adam reveals that ChancComm is up for grabs, and Devon is ready to let go of Dominic.
Sally eavesdrops on Adam as he talks to Chelsea on a video call. They disconnect when Adam gets a text and tells her they’ll have to pick it up later. Sally waltzes in and says, “That doesn’t sound good.” Adam reveals that Jill put ChancComm up for the highest bidder. Sally shrugs. She tells him just to bid high but this isn’t what he was hoping for. At least Billy loses. 
This surprises Sally. Adam says he used his company as a launch pad to attack him and his family. Sally’s glad it won’t impact Newman Media. She wants to build on their success. She offers her help and he thanks her but declines. He kicks her out and tells her to stick to her day job. She eavesdrops once outside the door and hears nothing as Adam asks, “What did you find out?”
At Newman, Nikki brings Victoria her tablet. Jill is selling ChancComm and Lily’s not a part of it. They wonder if Jill blames Billy and Lily equally for the hit ChancComm took. Victoria doesn’t take pleasure in Adam taking ChancComm. Victoria’s glad she sent the kids to boarding school for the rest of thte year. She hasn’t told Bily yet but will make it clear that she’s committed to doing this because this could push them off the rails and things could get ugly.
At the condo, Lily and Billy learn something about Jill and ChancComm being sold to the highest bidder. Billy says it’s time to move on. He urges Lily to tell his mom that she wants the job at Chancellor. He doesn’t want one there. She tries to convince him but he’s not going for it. He loves her and will cheer her from the sidelines. “I’ve got other plans.” That’s what worries her. He’ll keep her in the loop, though he doesn’t think she’ll like it. She thinks it could blow up in his face. If he blows it off, what will he accomplish except revenge?
Ashley runs into the ranch and hugs Victor. “Chance is alive and she brought him home!” Victor is stricken. “Oh my goodness.” He tells his ex it’s incredible news. She says Abby’s over the moon, but he wanted to stay and Abby had to convince him to come home with her sheer sense of will. Victor says he thinks they gave her the strength.

Chance and Abby walk into Chancellor mansion. He feels like a stranger coming back there, it’s been so long. He feels “disconnected from this place.” This is your life, here with me, with our baby,” Abby argues. She thinks it’s time to leave that nightmare behind him. They embrace. Jill arrives and calls out Abby’s name. She finds her with Chance and does a double take. “Chance?”
She rushes into his arms in awe. He gives her the short version of what happened in the bombing. Abby’s proud of herself that she knew in her heart he wasn’t dead and fills him in on Kim hiding him. Jill thanks her for bringing her son home. She just couldn’t believe he was gone, Abby repeats. “It’s so good to see you too, Grandma,” Chance says. Jill wants to see Dom but Devon’s caring for him. Chance gets a call and stares at his screen. “It’s my section chief.” Abby’s smile falters and he stares at her.
He takes the call and learns that they’re assembling a new team to take over and will finish the mission. They work they did wasn’t in vain and they’re closer to getting the bad guys. A security detail was sent to Genoa City. They may not see them though. Everyone’s happy and Jill yells to go meet his son!
At the penthouse, Devon and Amanda assume that Abby and Chance are excited to get their kid home. The baby cries and Devon picks him up. It’s a real baby! Amanda can see it’ll be hard to give up the kid, especially now that he’s not a rolled up towel anymore. They pack his things and put him in the stroller.
Abby and Chance show up and the men embrace. Chance hugs Amanda and he’s welcomed home. Abby thanks them for everything and stands with her man as she tells them she couldn’t let it go that he was alive. “And I was right.” They go over how wonderful it is that Chance is back and Devon hopes Abby’s in a better mental head space now.
Devon later brings the baby down and he meets his dad. The kid cries. Abby beams as he looks at his newborn.
At Society, Jill dines with Billy and Lily and tells them to check their emails. He reads that Jill says she’s retiring and appointing Lily as her replacement, while she stays on in an advisory capacity. She has good news. She tells them Chance is alive. Billy says she can trust him. He’ll keep this quiet. Jill goes and Lily wants to head to the office to explain what’s going to happen. Billy’s not ready to make his move yet but has to make a call so tells her to go ahead with out him. She goes and Sally turns up and says she heard the news. It has to hurt. She thinks he could use company.
Victor turns up at Newman Media and learns from Adam about Jill selling. They trash Billy and Adam asks what his dad wants to do about this. Will he make a play to get control of ChanceComm? Victor giggles and says, “We’ll see.”
Jill arrives home and sees Ashley, who tells her not to worry. Chance and Abby will be home soon with Dom. Jill asks why they waited so long to tell her he wasn’t dead. Ash says there was a security issue. Jill would have throttled him on the spot if she was the one who found him. Ashley laughs and calls her a softie inside. Jill’s tired of fighting, which is why she is ready to be the laid back matriarch of the family. Ashley laughs and says, “Good luck with the laid back part.”

Billy asks Jack to buy ChancComm from his mother with him.
Adam tells Sally he was thinking about her run-in with Billy. Sally says, “Are you asking me to spy for you?” Lily eavesdrops.
Abby tells Chance that what matters is that he’s home and with people that love him. He feels grateful. She says her dad wants to throw a welcome home party. He looks super uncomfortable.
