This is the Canadian Y&R day ahead recap from the Monday, July 12, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Tuesday, July 13. In the previous episode, Adam learned that Nick said goodbye to Summer, and Chelsea wanted to take Connor with her to see Anita. In this episode, Faith and Moses get their wires crossed, Imani remains interested in Nate, and Chelsea gets a police escort.
At Society, Rey learns from Michael that he has to accompany Chelsea and Connor when she goes to care for Anita as a guard. Nearby, Elena admits an embarrassing thing that happened to her at the hospital. She couldn’t recall the name of a patient’s medication. Nate admits he’s made the same mistake. That makes her feel better. She goes off to get dessert for them. Once she’s gone, Imani approaches. She loves his tie, which brings out the sparkle in his eyes. She’s waiting to pick up dinner and invites him for a drink. Elena returns with dessert and two forks. Imani greets her. Did she bring enough for three? Nope, Elena tells her. Just two. Finally, she invites her to sit, knowing that she must have lonely nights being new to town. Imani smiles. She’s meeting new friends all the time. Her gaze lands on Nate and then she compliments his tie again and goes to get her meal. Nate tells Elani he has a surprise for her.
At Crimson Lights, Adam tells Victor he changed his mind. He is allowing Chelsea to take Connor to see Anita. Sharon eavesdrops as Victor tells his son this isn’t good enough. The men argue about whose decision this is and Chelsea says he doesn’t dictate what she can and can’t do. “I dictate to anyone anytime, regarding my family,” he says, knowing Adam’s making a mistake. He doesn’t trust her with his grandson. Chelsea finds Rey and asks him for his thoughts. He admits he’s the police escort who will be with her on her trip. Sharon’s eyes widen a little. Michael calls and Rey tells him he doesn’t think that Chelsea will try anything. Rey asks if Sharon minds. She’s fine with it. She reveals she got a text from Mariah. She forgot her phone charger and her phone was dead. That will make it easier for Rey to go. He gets Chelsea and asks if she’s ready. She is and she’s grateful. Rey thinks getting distance from Adam will be good. He looks at Sharon. “For everyone.”

Moses and Faith finish riding horses at the ranch. She tells him he’s a natural. Nikki wanders in and offers to get them drinks. Once she’s gone, Moses thanks Faith for listening to him discuss medicine. He wonders if she thinks about what they are to each other. She has. She calls them friends. Besties. She brings the conversation back to school studies. Things seem awkward and Moses looks puzzled as he leaves, while Faith lets out a big sigh. Nikki returns. Faith admits to what happened and that she sent the wrong signal, that she only wants friendship, but she wants more. She froze. Hid behind her feelings. Nikki thinks that she’s full of anticipation, waiting for something wonderful to happen. Nikki urges her not to hide her feelings. Later, the kids are gone and Victor arrives. He complains about Chelsea taking Connor with her to see Anita. Nikki takes Adam’s side. Chelsea just wants to be with her son. She insults Adam who overhears as he strolls in.
At Devon’s, Amanda and Devon talk about Richard’s case. Devon asks what her take is on Sutton. Is she still holding out that he’s not completely evil? She can’t answer that right now. Imani appears and tells Devon that Nate should be the city’s most eligible bachelor. Devon says he’s not exactly single. He goes and Imani sits. They discuss the case briefly until Sutton appears. He’s relieved she decided to take Naya’s case and he wants to discuss it. “In private.” They go upstairs to Amanda’s room and Sutton hopes they can leave what happened last time behind them. He wants to know what approach she’ll take in court. Imani shoots her a look and Amanda says it’s a work in progress. She wants to keep it quiet until opening remarks. Sutton doesn’t like it. He can help them! He’s powerful and has connections. Amanda says they’ve got this. He’d hate to be disappointed. He guarantees she doesn’t want to be the one to let him down. She tells him their dinner is getting old and he takes off, shutting the door hard behind him. Imani worries since he can do damage. Amanda acts like she’s not worried. He’s never gone up against her.

In Ashland’s suite, Ash tells Victoria he walked into Tara, Kyle and Harrison on a picnic. Victoria calls it a setup. He started having trouble catching his breath. He picks up his phone and can’t believe it. Someone posted a video online. He shows her him at the park with Tara and his issues breathing. Victoria will see him through this. He’s grateful he can let his guard down with her. He can’t help but wonder what kind of man, what his life would be like had he met her before. She’ll never see him as anything but the most compelling man she’s known. They discuss what to do about it and he goes down to get drinks for them while Victoria checks in with the nanny.

Moses turns up at Society and tells Nate and Elena what happened with Faith. Nate thinks she may not be ready to jump into anything. Elena thinks he should make it clear he’s still interested. She thinks taking things to the next step is scary. She urges him not to give up. But if she tells him it’s not what she wants, he needs to listen. Moses thanks them. He takes off and Nate asks if she was talking about their relationship or Moses and Faith. “Both,” Elena says with a smile.
Ash finds Billy at the bar at Grand Phoenix. Ash asks what he wants. Billy reminds him there’s a deal for him to acquire his communications company. Ash reminds him he said he’d contact him about the deal and he’s obviously not interested. Victoria appears and he tells them they can figure out who sent the video to him anonymously. Victoria says she can find out for herself. Locke says they can share something with him for publication. “Personal and business in nature.” He goes and Ash and Victoria are happy that the merger has taken place. They drink to their success and celebrate.
Billy goes back to work to fill Lily in on what happened.
At the ranch, Chelsea and Rey stroll in. She assures Adam and Victor that she won’t jeopardize her future. Adam hopes this time away is everything she wants it to be. They go get Connor while Victor calls tell someone not to let them out of their eyesight even for a minute.
