In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Ashland has doubts about Victoria, and while she calls a meeting with her father and brothers, Ashland snoops in Adam’s office. In the previous episode, Jack’s siblings wondered what Allie’s up to and Phyllis came face to face with Diane.

At Crimson Lights, Billy tells Nick that he tried, but was unable to get through to Victoria. Nick’s frustrated. He doesn’t know what to do.
Billy wants to lock the man in a basement somewhere. Nick finds that to be the worst idea. Billy agrees but his eyebrows perk up. Nick says they’re not doing that. They hope Locke doesn’t manipulate himself back into Victoria’s life.
Outside, Chance and Rey drink coffee and discuss his return to work tomorrow. Chance feels good about it. Rey questions him but he’s excited and happy for things to start feeling normal again. Rey gets it. After Sharon’s cancer, Faith’s surgery…he too was glad to get back into a routine.
Chance talks about making good of promises he made his wife. Rey thinks guys who hide their pain end up distancing themselves and ruining relationships. Chance calls Devon a pretty good friend, he’s been able to talk to.
He’s also a good dad and has a great bond with the baby. Rey asks how that is. Chance shrugs. He’s trying to develop that same bond but he doesn’t have the same natural instincts.
Still, he doesn’t think he’ll be on the same level as Devon. Rey knows what that feels like because he’s a step-father to Sharon’s kids.
They make him feel included and welcomed but he still feels like an outsider.
Chance gets it and it’s how he feels about Devon and Abby, even though he’s Dominic’s father. They have a bond and he’s not sure if he’ll ever get there. Rey knows it’s a tough situation.
There are no bad guys. Chance asks if he talks to Sharon about it. Rey deals with it himself. He knows he has to be patient.
At the office, Ashland reschedules the trip and disconnects. The pilot seemed relieved that they’re not going. Victoria laughs. He probably didn’t want to fly in the storm.
Ashland didn’t see any storms on the horizon but Victoria says she thinks they have more sophisticated software. “Or…” He says.
Victoria realizes her father must have controlled the outcome. Ashland thinks it’s par for the course, especially since they think he’s going to harm her.
He did what he could to protect her. Ash vows to prove who set him up. He’s glad Adam won’t be running Newman Locke with them there.
Victoria asks if he has a plan. Ash thinks he may have made a mistake along the way. Victoria agrees, their arrogance tips their hat. They’d have to think they were invincible and that everyone else is stupid. As she talks, it’s obvious that Ashland is beginning to doubt her. She tells Ashland that she’s counting on all of that to bring Adam down.
Ashland looks at her as though she sees him and she asks, “Is there something wrong?” He worries there is no proof but she believes there will be.
Ashland loves her and can’t shake the feeling that she doesn’t still have doubts about his innocence. “Am I right?”
She tells him if she thought he lied to her about being ill, she’d be spending every moment how to cut him out of her life for good. Ashland looks unconvinced.
She asks how she can prove to him that she’s on his side. She tells him Adam set her up once, trying to frame her. He’s appalled.
He blames Adam for forcing them to mistrust each other. She promises she’s not going anywhere. She tells him to go home and she’ll tell her family that their plans to leave town changed. “Poor Adam will be disappointed,” Locke says.
He goes and Victoria texts Nick to meet.

Abby finds Chelsea working at Society on her phone. She’s excited after things are going her way. They talk about the launch party and how much fun they used to have working together.
Abby’s glad her sole focus is Society. They agree things are going well for them both.
They talk about how Adam could use what she did against her but he hasn’t. Abby asks why she’s protective of him. Chelsea says they share a son. They’ll always have that bond. Rey and Chance stroll up. Chelsea hands over the Blackhawk tickets and they go get a drink at the bar.
Abby’s thrilled that Rey has forgiven her and that they’re friends now. Chance too praises how well they are working together as friends. Chance admits Rey felt like an outsider in the family.
Abby’s sorry to hear that. He’s so valued. Chance says there are certain moments he compares himself to Nick. Abby gets it. Nick has a tight relationship with his kids but there is no competition.
There is enough love to go around. She kisses him.
Victor finds Adam and Sally working late. Adam talks about the consolidation and rebranding of their video services. Victor reminds him that his role is temporary.
He did it to prevent changes, not to instigate them. Sally looks shocked while Adam seethes. Sally comes to Adam’s rescue to support his idea at length.
Victor doesn’t care. This situation is temporary until Victoria throws Locke to the curb.
Adam’s rooting for her but for now, she doesn’t have her eye on the ball. Victor thinks they’re trying to take advantage. He likes their plan but it’s bad timing.
He knows Sally wants what’s best for his son but asks for time alone with him. Sally leaves and Victor calls her a supportive COO. Adam likes that she’s direct and thinks they need more of that around there.
Victor warns his son not to get too close, confusing the profession with the person. Adam doesn’t know why they’re discussing her. She’s not the problem. Ashland is.
Victor knows. It’s why he wants no distractions. Adam thinks they need a new initiative to distract from the fiasco. He wishes his dad had faith. Victor says he’s earned it.
He likes his idea and asks him to expand. Adam says they buy land, build their own studios to film their own shoes, and rent them out at a cheaper price to their competitors.
Victor agrees that he should do it. “See what happens!” Victoria calls and asks her father and brother to come to her office. They take off and Ashland shows up. He opens Adam’s door, quietly.
He goes inside and stares at the laptop before putting on gloves.
At Victoria’s office, Victoria tells Adam that their father convinced the pilot not to fly them out of Genoa City. Nick appears and she repeats that. It was lucky that it worked out in their favor.
They’re staying in town. Adam wonders how that works in anyone’s favor. She says that there’s no reason for him to stay in his CEO position.
Adam looks upset at that. When Vic asks where her husband is, she’s not sure. “But I have a pretty good idea.”
