The Canadian Y&R day ahead recap from the Wednesday, August 11, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Thursday, August 12. In the previous episode, Mariah dreamed she’s rescued and Chloe hired Sally. In this episode, Ashland has his first chemo treatment, Victoria shares her happy news, and Elena is bothered by Nate being her boss.
Elena gets coffee at Crimson Lights and runs into Devon. She’s working too much and tells him Nate’s the new Chief of Surgery of Memorial. Devon’s confused. He thought that was the job Stitch was offered. Elena thinks he misunderstood. Today was his first day. He asks how that’ll work out for them. Won’t it mean he’s her boss now?
Phyllis meets Amanda and they have drinks while Phyllis thanks her for helping her uncover that Tara and Sally were conspiring to get her daughter out of town. She reveals “those two little girls got what they deserved.” Amanda knows this is bittersweet since Kyle and Summer decided to stay in Milan. Phyllis agrees. It’s not much of a victory. Amanda talks about her personal issues with Sutton and Naya and details what’s been happening on that front. They drink to saving the world from selfish, manipulative people, one person at a time. Phyllis admits Nick helped as well and got Tara’s accountant to flip. Amanda doesn’t think this is a blanket endorsement for your meddling tendency. Phyllis calls it a desire to protect people she loves. Amanda smiles. She can look at it that way. She grins about love and admits Devon professed he’s in love with her. Phyllis melts. “Why didn’t you lead with that?” She’s not surprised because Amanda is amazing.
At the park, Nick asks Jack how he’s holding up after hearing about Tara’s arrest and Summer and Kyle staying in Milan. Jack is processing. He shares that he spoke to Phyllis about it. Jack’s happy the young couple has a fair chance after what Sally and Tara did to them.

At her house, Victoria mothers Ashland, asking if he’s had enough to drink before his first procedure. She hopes he has enough ginger candies in case he gets sick. He nods. He’s got it under control. He doesn’t want her to come with him. She agrees to pick him up afterward. She admits she needs to tell some others that they’re engaged.
At home, Lily and Billy talk about Tara’s arrest and that this is one time Phyllis’ meddling paid off. Billy finds the Lockes to be the gift that keeps on giving, while Lily considers what Tara did to Phyllis. Later, Victoria appears. She’s grateful to them for helping with the kids more than ever and has news. She and Ashland are engaged. Lily and Billy’s mouths collectively drop open. Billy seems taken aback and asks if she’s sure. She’s positive. She’s in love. Lily reminds Billy he said Victoria met her match in Ash. Vic shares that he’s in chemo right now. They hope it’ll prolong his life. Lily thinks it’s brave of her. She hopes this will give them the figure they’re dreaming of. Victoria thanks her. “That means a lot.” Victoria says she knows what Billy’s thinking. She appreciates that he cares enough to worry. Lily heads to the office as Victoria goes to tell the kids the news. John thinks it’s a sign that Ash will get better. They discuss Ashland and Tara and Billy suggests he knew about her crimes and turned a blind eye, while Victoria doesn’t believe that. She thinks Tara was creating a safety net for herself by siphoning off money from her company.

At Devon’s, Nate and Moses talk about his new job as Chief of Surgery. He won’t be with Moses as much as he has been. Moses says it’s fine since he doesn’t think he wants to go into medicine. He feels bad but Moses reminds him he’s sixteen and is finding out what he wants for his future. Nate thinks he had a valuable experience. He learned a lot about himself and saw a part of the world not many see. He suggests Moses move forward and make a new plan. Moses will take new electives. Nate thinks he might want to check into classes to help with a possible music career. Moses relaxes and thanks Nate, who supports his endeavors. Devon shows up and they all discuss him working for Devon. Devon loves that idea. His dad told him it was helpful to visualize his future. Devon suggests he get into the studio. “I’ll set up an internship for you.” Later, when alone, Devon and Amanda talk about their day and flirt. They talk about Moses following in his footsteps.

Jack meets Lily at Chance Comm to ask if they’re running a story about Tara Locke’s arrest. Lily says, “Everyone else is, so why wouldn’t we?” Billy arrives and they argue over whether or not they should write about this. They can’t ignore it but Jack’s worried about Kyle and Harrison. Jack blatantly asks them not to cover the story. They try to tell him they won’t write it salaciously but he balks. Family comes first!
At home, Victoria fusses over Ashland. He says the chemo was tedious and then he clutches at his stomach and sits. He’s obviously not feeling well and then clutches at his head. Later, he returns to the room and makes light of vomiting. He says Kyle has been calling. Ashland needs to consider what’s best for Harison and what he wants to do before he returns his call.
At the park, Elena and Nate talk about Moses’ changes to his future. Elena gets a text. She has to go back to the hospital. She’s tempted to find someone to cover since she did two back-to-back shifts. Nate offers to look at her schedule. She freaks out and then apologizes. She doesn’t want preferential treatment. He understands. They won’t let this come between them. Elena looks nervous.
At Grand Phoenix, Nick kisses Phyllis and she shares that she and Amanda talked about how wonderful he’s been. They flirt and he tells her he spoke with Jack as well. He said she may know him better than anyone else on earth.
