This is the Canadian Y&R day ahead recap from the Monday, May 4, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Tuesday, May 5. Monday’s episode had Rey doubting Adam poisoned him and in today’s episode, Adam goes for help, Nick struggles, Rey gets food for him and Sharon, and Faith has a setback.
Rey brings Sharon something to drink but she’s fallen asleep on the sofa at home. Rey leaves a note telling Sharon how sorry he is she’s going through this and takes off. She wakes up later and reads it.

Nick coughs after the cave-in at AJ’s farmhouse in the basement. He pants and calls Adam’s name and starts stripping away at the debris to get to his brother. “Don’t you die on me now,” he says, when he sees him unconscious underneath the detritus. Nick keeps yelling at him that he promised to come home. Adam wakes up and calls Nick’s name. Nick says he’s fine and learns Adam has some bruises but his kidney is intact. His leg is pinned under a “tree limb,” he tells his brother. Nick orders him to try to get out so he can save his kid. Adam finally lifts the tree limb and is out. Nick urges him to go but Adam can’t leave him there. Nick asks him to get the authorities to rescue him. Adam knows that won’t do either of them good since he’s a wanted man. Adam will be right back. Nick asks if he’ll really return. Adam says he could leave the country. He goes off and Nick notices he has a large cut on his leg. He hears Faith’s voice telling him to wake up, but he’s not asleep. He stands and blood drips down his leg. He pulls apart the wall to try to escape. He sees Faith more, telling him not to go to sleep since he’s lost a lot of blood. The ambulance arrives and Adam shows the paramedics where his brother is. He went to the fire station and skipped the cops. He gave them Billy Abbott’s name. Nick grins. “Solid.” Adam saw the gash on his leg and couldn’t risk them not getting to him on time. They clasp hands. “Ready to go home?”
Faith wakes up to Moses sitting across from her. Seeing him makes her feel better about being in the hospital. She admits she had bad dreams. He asks about them but she doesn’t want to talk about them. She’d rather teach him chess. He grabs the board Victor brought. “You probably won’t beat me cause I’ve learned from the best.” They play. He picks it up and she calls his plays “brilliant.” He calls it a lucky break and then it’s obvious that he can play. He went to the park and some old guys taught him to play.
Chelsea paces her condo and then goes to leave when she thinks she sees Adam. She screams. It’s only Chloe. Chelsea’s going stir crazy. Chloe’s checking in on her. Chelsea’s surprised to see her since she dumped her. Chloe isn’t going to apologize for that. Chelsea wants to go out but Chloe tries to convince her that it’s too risky to let the world know she could have set Adam up.

At home, Victor plays chess and talks to Nikki about his concerns that Nick won’t be able to convince Adam to return. Nikki says they’re devoted fathers, so it is possible. Victor tells his wife not to forget why Adam’s in this predicament. It’s Chelsea’s fault he ran. Nikki calls that a theory. Victor calls it more than a theory.
Chelsea and Chloe arrive at Crimson Lights. Chelsea puts a big front up about using her cane when she walks. In comes Rey, who is shocked to see her without her nurse. Chelsea acts like she can barely talk and says it’s been easier for her to push herself. She asks if there are leads on Adam. Rey doesn’t say much but that the case has gone in a new direction. She wishes him luck and he tells her it’s good to see her doing well. Chloe worries that he’s talking about them once he goes.
At home, Sharon calls Nate for an update and then Nikki turns up to see how Sharon’s doing. Sharon got some rest and thanks Nikki for caring. It’s nice to be on the same side after all these years. Nikki grins. She found respect for Sharon when she saw how she fought for cancer and how she fights for Faith. Sharon admires how Nikki shares her experiences to help Faith through rehab. They laugh at how well they’re getting along. Sharon says they need to focus on what’s coming. There’s nothing new to share about the kidney so Sharon admits Rey moved out. Nikki asks if it’s temporary. Sharon hopes not. Nikki’s been there. Done that. If she had to choose, she’d choose Sharon over Phyllis any day. Sharon laughs. Later, she calls her kid and learns she’s in good spirits playing chess. “You’re having the time of your life,” Sharon drawls. She’ll be there soon. She disconnects and Rey turns up with food. She’s glad and asks him to stay. He can’t. He takes off.
Back at the hospital, Faith doesn’t feel good. Moses goes to get a doctor.
Chelsea and Chloe turn up at home. Chelsea throws her cane on the table. “The cane is a nice touch,” Victor says. He asks if they were celebrating the destruction of his son. He comments on how her recovery is a miracle. The doctors are probably writing a book about her speedy recovery. He is there to give her an ultimatum. Confess her crime and he won’t take Connor away from her. He can get custody easily. He tells her to think about it and takes off.
Back home, Sharon gets a call from the hospital to get there, now. She rushes off.
