In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Chelsea wants Adam’s help to talk Connor through his loss, Sally and Adam strategize, and Victor learns that Diane Jenkins is in town. In the previous episode, Sharon sobbed in Adam’s arms over Rey’s death, and she learned that he died of heart attack.

At Crimson Lights, Victor is shocked when Nikki informs him that Diane Jenkins is alive and in Genoa City. She fills him in a little and he recalls the damage she did with her so-called murder.
Nikki shares why she’s back. To see Kyle. She claims to have done work on herself and wants to make amends with them. Victor scoffs that they would never buy her bull.
Nikki doesn’t think Kyle would forgive her for staying away.
At Society, Chelsea has a hard time focusing on work so Chloe asks her what’s going on. Chelsea lost one of her closest friends and is struggling.
Chloe hopes she doesn’t blame herself but Chelsea does.
She can’t get over that he forgave her after she almost killed the man. Look what it lead to.
Chloe calls it a horrific accident. Chelsea ruminates and Chloe tells her to stop.
She confesses Rey had a massive heart attack.
It’s why he lost control of his car. She’s shocked and realizes she could have been in the car when it happened. She says this isn’t fair.
At the Abbott house, Kyle snuggles Harrison and says he doesn’t understand how a parent can be away from their kid for too long.
Phyllis looks down and then brings Harrison to the kitchen for a surprise.
Jack calls his son confident and happy. Kyle is proud of him. He can’t get over the fact that his mother chose to let him believe she was dead.
He recalls wishing she was alive, but why would he put his family through drama to believe in her? Jack knows he’s overwhelmed.
Kyle says he needs answers and will talk to her. Jack understands since his own mother disappeared more than once. He agrees to reach out to Diane. The men embrace.

In her suite, Diane remembers being with Jack and Kyle when he was just a toddler.
She’s overcome with emotion as she sets a family photo on her table.
In his office, Adam and Sally talk budget. She finds it exciting. He gets a drink and she tells him that the Newmans are finally rid of Locke, thanks to him.
Adam considers that. She thinks the Newman siblings should be in charge.
Adam appreciates her. It means a lot that she believes in him and has his back.
He’s sitting back and seeing how Victoria plays this. Maybe they can have a good working balance. Sally thinks there should be repercussions on bringing Locke into their lives.
Adam thinks she’s already had them with the accident. Sally thinks she should be grateful to Adam for swooping in and cleaning up her mess.
Adam says meanwhile, his focus is on guiding Sally. He has absolute faith in her ability in this job. He’s counting on her to continue to make him look good. He calls her smart and hard working. She’s confident.
Sally laughs. “I’m a real find, aren’t I?”
Sally and Adam turn up at Society. They discuss how to help Connor through the loss. Chelsea reveals that Rey had a heart attack and Chloe’s upset since she didn’t want everyone to know.
Chelsea suggests she and Adam talk things through with their son to give him a real sense of stability. Adam seems surprised and glances at Sally.
He tells Chelsea they’ll try to work something out.
Chelsea doesn’t like that and crosses her arms over her chest. She snaps at him for not committing since he’s with Sally. Adam knows she’s upset because she lost Ray.
He tells her they’ll take it later and takes off with Sally.
Chloe tells Chelsea off when her friend assumes that they’re a couple now.
Chloe tells her not to gravitate back to the man. At their table, Sally can see Chelsea’s in a bad way. Adam says she and Rey bonded.
Sally recalls that Chelsea tried to kill Rey. Adam clarifies that she was going after him. She only made Rey sick and tried to pin it on Adam, but he forgave her.
There were extenuating circumstances. Sally thinks it’s amazing he forgave her. He says he’s done some terrible things. Sally decides to come clean and reveals that in L.A., she was in love with someone who broke their engagement off.
She reveals she became desperate to win him back and it made her physically sick, and meant Wyatt treated her differently.
When she learned the illness was due to stress, she faked a terminal illness to get him to stay. She’s not proud. She calls it the most shameful thing she’s done.
He asks why she’s telling him. She doesn’t want him to hear from someone else. Adam considers her words. He says, “Did it work?” He grins.
She says it was revealed and was the reason she left. Adam’s grateful for her honesty. He admits he was impressed Ashland was able to pull it off, but he was upset because of his family.
He admits he faked a medical condition to get what he wanted. It wasn’t pretty. He’s glad they can share everything. “Because it seems like I’m falling in love with you too.”
She’s shocked that he took him so long to admit it. Part of her wonders if he’s being honest. He gets it, but surely she expected he’d feel the same?
He suggests they go somewhere together where he can be perfectly clear about how he feels about her. She likes that idea. They grin at each other. Chelsea watches them leave together.
Jack turns upon Diane’s doorstep. He reveals their son is in town and in shock, processing her reveal. Diane worries Phyllis is trashing her but Jack says she’s justified.
Whatever Kyle is feeling is all Diane’s fault. “Your choices. Your actions.” Diane tears up and apologizes. He reminds her he’s having trouble trusting her.
Kyle’s his priority. He shares that he filled his son in on what happened and he has decided he wants to talk to her. He wants answers.
Diane is thrilled. She moves to thank him but he backs up and tells her not to. A part of him doesn’t want this. He asks her to put Kyle first. Not her.
She knows she used to never feel empathy. She asks if she can meet him at Jack’s house. He reluctantly agrees and she tells him she’ll be over soon.
Jack returns home and tells Kyle and Phyllis about his meeting with Diane, who wants to come there to tell her story.
Phyllis is upset and Kyle says it’s fine.
He asks them to keep Harrison out of sight. He doesn’t want his son near his mother at this point. He appears nervous before she gets there.
When she turns up, they stand at the door, staring at one another.

Chance goes to Abby and says there’s something she needs to know.
