In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Lily asks Amanda to come work for her, while Abby, Devon and Chance get bad news about Dominic that seems to turn around rather fast. In the previous episode, Sally & Adam had sex and Noah interrupted Tessa and Mariah’s romantic date.

Devon meets with Billy at Society to discuss the podcast idea. First, Devon tells Billy about Dominic’s unknown condition. Billy recalls Delia going through leukemia.
Devon says he may need to cut the meeting short if Abby, Chance or the hospital calls. They get to the meeting and Devon’s impressed at how many ideas Billy came up within one night. “Do you ever sleep?” Billy smiles.
He’ll sleep when he’s old. Devon grins but seems a little worried. Billy calls it quiet at night — it’s a good time to think. He can nap at home. He admits that it sparked an interesting conversation with her about life. “Stuff we all feel.” Devon jokes that it sounds like a mid-life crisis.
At Devon’s, Lily shows Amanda a little onesie for Dominic. They squee at how adorable it is and talk about how lethargic the poor child is and that he’s not eating much. They hope whatever he has, is easy to treat.
Lily asks how her law practice is going and learns it’s good but a little slow. Amanda says she needs to pay for the fancy office space.
Lily wonders if Sutton’s cronies will want them working with her. Amanda thinks it sounds like she’s casting doubt but Lily says she had a big client looking for legal representation. “Me.” Amanda questions her and they discuss their respective jobs.
Lily remembers Amanda being one of her top people on her team at ChancComm.
She wants her to work for her at Chancellor at the corporate level. Amanda’s flattered but the timing is off. Lily wants her to be her new Chief Counsel. Amanda’s shocked at the senior level. Lily calls it a promotion. She’s given it a lot of thought.
Chance looks catatonic as he sits in a chair at home. He gets a call and ignores it and then flashes back to the stakeout with Rey and how he experienced a panic attack when he heard glass shatter and what sounded like a gunshot.
Abby walks in and grabs coffee. She says Dom’s sweet and affectionate and sleeping again. She worries but is grateful to have his support. She wonders if they should wake the boy to get him to eat.
Chance thinks they should let him sleep. She asks if he spoke with Rey about their son. He admits he did a little. When she asks if that was why he let him go early, Chance says nothing and is saved by a phone call from Nate.
He’s bringing Dr. Austin over to explain the results. She’ll call Devon to join them. They’re exceedingly concerned. Abby feels that it can’t be minor.

Back at Society, Billy and Devon continue talking about the podcast. Devon recalls searching for them for parenting tips. Billy jokes that he might start his own podcast but then they agree they should try it out.
Billy thinks it’d be boring but Devon thinks his soul-searching could be encouraging to others to dig deep. Nate calls and Devon is told to head to the Chancellor mansion. He takes off.
Devon calls Amanda from Abby’s to update her that he’s at the manse. Abby comes in and hugs Devon, who tells her and Chance that if it was an emergency, they would have told them to bring the boy to the hospital.
Chance agrees. Dr. Austin arrives and says there’s no sign of Leukemia. He has a rare blood disorder which made him fatigued and experience a loss of appetite. They recommend he’s treated now because left unaddressed, it could lead to bone marrow failure.
He needs a bone marrow transplant. He should start producing them on his own after, depending on the compatibility of the donor.
Nate says it’s rare for a family member or sibling to be a match. Dr. Austin says the risks are higher for a half match. The doctors head back to Memorial and set up the testing. Abby asks Chance to stay with their son while she gets tested. He assures them they’ll get through this.
Once Abby’s gone to get tested, Rey comes over and is told the horrible news. Rey’s a comfort to his friend. He’s been through that and says nobody will expect him at work right now. Chance brings up the stakeout but Rey says he doesn’t need to do this.
Abby returns in her coat as Chance says, “I have to apologize because I let you down.” She looks on, curiously. Rey goes and she questions her husband. He lies that nothing happened and says it was too soon for him to go back. Dr. Austin calls. Abby cries. She’s only a half-match.
Back at the penthouse, Lily tries to get Amanda’s mind off Dominic by attempting to convince her to come work for her. Lily says she did this with Billy who found his own path.
He seems to have let go of his revenge and ego. She admits they fight less, now that it’s clear who is in command. Amanda’s shocked that Billy’s able to let things go since he usually has so much conviction. Lily laughs knowing he’s stubborn. She decides to take Amanda to see someone before she says no to her offer.
Lily brings Amanda home to Billy. He hopes she’s closed the sale but Lily explains she needs convincing. Billy tells her the vibe at Chancellor is electrifying and the team is on board to revitalize everything. He talks up the company and environment and wows Amanda.
She’ll have more autonomy and a bigger paycheck. Amanda reminds them she has that with her own company. She can’t walk out on her sister. Lily says there’s a role for her sister. They give her several ideas on what she could do.
Amanda is intrigued, now that she hears this. She smiles. They’re making it hard to say no. She agrees to talk to Imani and get back to them. She goes and they discuss his meeting with Devon which he feels went well.
Lily worries about Devon and Dominic but Billy knows with a grandfather like Victor Newman, he’ll get the best care possible. Later, they get to work and Lily loves the idea of him doing a podcast. Billy’s not sure he wants to do this but Lily says he could remain anonymous.
Devon slumps into his place and finds Amanda waiting. He tells her that Dom needs a bone marrow transplant due to a blood disorder. Amanda sighs and looks upward. She’s horrified. He talks to her about the procedure and that the hard part is finding a donor.
He or Abby will be as good as it gets which isn’t optimal. Amanda embraces him as he says they may not be able to save him. Later, Devon gets a call. He’s a hundred percent match for the bone marrow. He embraces Amanda, happily.
