In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Abby and Chance have taken the baby to the doctor and don’t have great news, Lauren complains to Jack about Michael’s job, and Billy feels out of sorts. In the previous episode, Adam and Sally revealed their feelings for each other.

At home, Billy apologizes to someone on a call for missing a call this morning. “The dog ate my alarm clock,” he says, reading a note from Lily explaining she left for a meeting.
He admits they’re working from home since they have renovations. There’s no coffee so he heads out.
Lily stops by Devon’s place. She wants to talk CEO to CEO. Some entertainment projects were in the works at Chancellor Industries and they got her thinking about her and Dad. “He would be proud of us, right?” Devon thinks so. Especially her, since she got out of prison.
Lily wishes he’d seen her pick herself back up and get on her feet. Lily wants a joint venture with their companies to honor Catherine and Neil. They could do something memorable. Devon thinks it sounds incredible.
Jack calls Amanda over to sit with him at Crimson Lights. They talk about how slow going her law practice is and then he mentions he hasn’t spoken with Phyllis yet. He’s sure Summer is keeping her busy. Amanda smiles. She can see he has a good poker face. Jack laughs.
He feels like he’s on the witness stand. Both of them thought he’d be with Phyllis but he calls life — and Phyllis— unpredictable. Outside, Rey and Sharon canoodle and talk about food when he gets a text from Chance.
Rey tells her about Chance not coming in to work. Sharon wonders about all these reasons why he is a no-show and gets psychological until Rey says that isn’t it at all. Their kid is sick. She asks if she should tell Mariah but Rey thinks she should give it time. Sharon tells him it’s time to go to work.
She urges him not to forget to eat the sandwich she made for him. “No such luck,” he says and goes after a peck on the lips.
Billy shows up and gets coffee. He tells Jack and Amanda he has insomnia. Jack can see why. He’s had a lot of crazy things happen with him. He wonders if it bothers his brother that Lily’s his boss. Billy denies that and tells him not to go looking for things that aren’t there.
Amanda knows that Billy loves seeing Lily come into her own. Jack still wonders why Billy’s so tired. Billy shakes his head. It’s nothing nefarious. He apologizes for being “testy.” Jack’s just concerned. He’s battled with insomnia himself. Billy wakes up at 3 am and his mind gets going.
He sips coffee and says he’s not going to cut it out. Jack thinks his subconscious is working overtime. Amanda knows Billy’s had stress these last few months.

At the Chancellor estate, Chance tries to calm Abby’s nerves as they wait for lab results to ensure their boy is fine. Chance tells her that he told Rey he’s not coming in today. Abby grumps that its terrible timing. Chance says it’s fine. Abby talks about the baby having sniffles and a fever one time.
She almost wishes he had one since she now knows what to do. Chance wishes he was there for that. Abby decides they shouldn’t wait to alert Devon. Chance calls and lets Devon know about the visit to the pediatrician. Devon asks if he can come check on him. Chance tells him it come on over.
Devon lets Lily know about Dominic being sick. He asks to finish their talk another time. He leaves her there.
Devon arrives at Abby’s. They explain that the physical texts came back normal but they did blood tests. Devon worries but Chance says Dr. Bradley wasn’t overly concerned. Abby can’t stop speculating and says she was online searching baby symptoms. She wonders if he’s anemic. Devon says, “It’s treatable, right?”
They look at the baby and Devon says he trusts their judgment. Abby blames herself. Devon shakes his head and Chance calls her an excellent mother. Devon agrees. This is nothing to do with her. Abby thinks that Devon’s accusing her of overreacting. “I’m not,” he mumbles. She can’t help but wonder and when he tells her to calm down, it makes her anxious.
She thinks putting him to bed will be best. The doctor calls. She makes a big show of not answering it until Chance says, “Are you gonna answer it?” She asks the doc for news on her kid. Dom’s red blood cell count is low. Much lower than she’s comfortable with. They need more tests and a bone marrow aspiration. Devon thinks that sounds severe. Abby cries.
At home, Lily finishes a call as Billy heads in. She tells him that the contractor told her they’re still working and so they can work and listen to the noise or work from home. He wonders if there’s another venue to work at. She doesn’t know of any. She relays her talk with Devon and that Dom was at the doctor’s office.
Chance tries to tell her that Devon didn’t mean that at all as Devon talks to his son. He talks about his insomnia and Lily thinks it’s happening because of everything he’s been through lately. Billy doesn’t think it’s serious. He usually gets up and tries to…”Do…something.”
He feels like he’s searching for something and isn’t sure what it is. Lily saw this coming. She thinks she knows what it is. She thinks it’s because she hasn’t had an actual project to do. She gives him the one working with Devon to create podcasts. She wants it educational and inspirational.
He says, “Our version of a Ted Talk.” He likes it. She thinks he’d be a natural. He calls it sexy. Like her. They snuggle on the sofa and make out. They make love and afterward he’s glad that she figured out his insomnia. They kiss.
Lauren has breakfast with Jack at Society as she fills him in on Michael’s new job. She brings up how Victor sent him to South America on assignment. “Classic Victor,” Jack says. Didn’t Michael like being DA? She admits he was getting antsy.
Lauren bitches about how little time she gets with her husband. Jack jokes to take up kickboxing. “You mean pretend Victor is the punching bag?” Jack did it with tennis. She laughs. Talk turns to Phyllis and Jack tells her there’s nothing going on there but if there is, he’ll tell her.
