Returning to former role.

Kelly Thiebaud will be exiting General Hospital as Dr. Britt Westbourne on January 4, 2023.

Eva is the widow of fallen Station 19 firefighter Rigo Vasquez (Rigo Sanchez) who appeared in Season 3. Eva had a steamy affair with her husband’s colleague Jack Gibson (Grey Damon) that resulted in total chaos. Her return promises to be as messy and destructive as her arrival.

According to Deadline who first broke the news, ABC teases of the character’s return, “Misery loves company and Eva finds solace with someone from her past.”

For those not in the know, Station 19 is a spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy and stars Jason George, who starred as surgeon Ben Warren on Grey’s, and previously played Michael Bourne on Sunset Beach from 1997 to 1999.

Thiebaud joined the cast of GH back in September of 2012. She has been off and on since then as the doctor with some of the worst bedside manners in Port Charles. Nicknamed “the Britch” by those who fell afoul of her, plans for the character were initially sketchy.

Her backstory grew as quickly as her enemies list. It was gradually revealed that she was the daughter of Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and supervillain Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) and has had a long history of being party to her father’s various illegal activities.

Since her arrival, most of her bad behavior has been on a more minor level than her father’s terrorist activities. She seduced Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson), and then attempted to destroy his relationship with Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) with a little help from Maxie (Kirsten Storms) secured by blackmail.

Claiming to be pregnant and faking a disease, she tried to get Patrick back. The child turned out not to be his. In fact, Britt had stolen Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu’s (Marcy Rylan) fertilized embryos.

Making things worse, she kept her knowledge of Robin (Kimberly McCullough) being alive in captivity a secret.

Additionally, she has kept paternities secret, helped Maxie fake the death of her child to keep her own psychotic half-brother Peter (Will Ramsey) at bay, and helped Jason (Steve Burton) escape from custody before going on the run with him.

GH opinions

Britt’s days have seemed numbered for years, and not only because of the dangerous company she keeps.

She was diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease and has since been pessimistic and frequently assumed her end is near.

Although Britt has softened a bit over the years, she has always had an amiable relationship with her frequent partner in crime, Brad (Parry Shen) as well as Spencer (Nicholas Chavez), the son of her former lover, Nikolas (Tyler Christopher, Marcus Coloma).

Before joining the soap, Thiebaud appeared on SoapNet’s I Wanna Be a Soap Star, as well as TV shows Chuck, Castle, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and briefly appeared on NBC soap Days of our Lives.
