In the Thursday, December 9, 2021, full episode recap of CBS’ Bold and the Beautiful, Liam listens to Bill’s advice, Thomas and Steffy miss their family, and Deacon lives in a closet. We also have Tuesday’s B&B recap where Liam turned to $Bill for advice about what to do about Hope and Deacon’s relationship.
At Forrester Creations, Steffy hugs Ridge and apologizes for disrespecting his wife. Thomas reminds him that Taylor was once his wife, too. Steffy says they miss their family. The one they could have had without Brooke. They know Ridge will always have a special place in his heart for Taylor.
He tells them he knows their family is dysfunctional. He knows Brooke is taking sides. Thomas says Logans always put themselves first. Steffy reminds her dad that Taylor used to always put Ridge first. They miss their family, “Me, Thomas, Mom and you.” They get into it about Brooke again and how she’s letting Deacon into her life. They wonder what life would have been life if he stayed with Taylor. “Do you wonder that too, sometimes?”
At the cabin, Deacon gets some texts. He jokes that he has a hot date with Gal Gadot and has to go. Brooke and Hope laugh. Hope asks her mother if she sees that her dad’s a changed man. They discuss how Ridge can’t stand him. and Brooke repeats that nobody will kick her daughter out of there.
She wishes things didn’t escalate or that Ridge didn’t blow up but she knows he’s doing it with love. Hope understands but she says she doesn’t want her relationship with Deacon to create a wedge between her and Ridge. Deacon thinks that she’ll have her work cut out for her. Deacon gets another text and jokes that “this girl won’t leave me alone.” He goes on about how he’s not the same conman he was. He wants to focus on being Hope’s dad and being in Brooke’s life as their daughter’s dad.
At Il Giardino, Dollar Bill snipes that the convict (Deacon) seems to have sprouted angel wings and is trying to connect with his daughter? “It has con written all over it,” he says. Liam says Hope doesn’t see it that way. Bill thinks it’s because she has daddy issues. She’s falling for Deacon’s machinations. Liam cannot let Deacon get close to his wife and children. Liam winces. He can’t tell his wife what to do.

Bill says Sharpe has already wormed his way into Brooke’s life. Soon, it’ll be his granddaughter’s life if Liam doesn’t stop it. He raises his voice and patrons stare. He apologizes and relaxes. Liam thinks that it’ll put a strain on his marriage and push her closer to Deacon. Bill offers to step in but Liam refuses.
Once upon a time, Hope tried to get him to cut Bill out of their lives. Liam admires Hope and doesn’t want to be disrespectful or insensitive to her. Bill tells his son he could never do those things. Bill says he’s kind, caring and compassionate man. Deacon on the other hand, is trouble. He’s playing a con. Liam asks if he’s sure. Bill knows he’s a conman. “Once a conman, always a conman.” He doesn’t think Sharpe’s good at it but he’ll still cause damage. He calls Liam a man protecting his family and says there’s no fault in that. He takes off.

Deacon arrives at Il Giardino and Paul asks if he got his texts. Deacon says that’s why he’s there. Paul tells him the manager wants everything scrubbed from top to bottom. He hands him the mop and Deacon thinks about Hope as he starts to mop the floor. Later, he takes the mop to the storage closet where he lays down on a bed he’s made for himself. He thinks about Hope and Brooke and how they’re standing up for him. He smiles.
At the cabin, Liam and Hope talk about how Bill is no saint. Both their dads are of morally ambiguous character, but all of Bill’s flaws, his ruthlessness, his callousness, his total allergy to playing by the rules gets channelled into their family. Deacon…”It’s the exact opposite,” he says. Deacon is a taker. Hope believes in her dad.
Alone at home, Brooke looks at photos of her and Ridge. He arrives and she tells him that Deacon showed up at the cabin. She doesn’t want to argue about it and she doesn’t want him to throw Hope out. He didn’t meant o hurt her. She knows he was trying to protect them but deems it unnecessary. She tells him she’s not naive and he makes a sound in his throat.
Brooke claims he’s changed. Ridge wants to believe it but doesn’t. He’ll find a bar, drink and go to her or Hope for money. “In the end, someone’s going to get hurt. He hasn’t changed at all.”
