In the Wednesday, July 20, 2022, full episode recap of CBS’ Bold and the Beautiful, Deacon assures Hope he had nothing to do with Sheila’s escape, Sheila has to help Finn back into bed and answers some nagging questions.
We also have Tuesday’s B&B recap where Mike was confronted and Finn risked his life trying to escape.
At the hideaway, Sheila is shocked that Finn has the strength to get out of bed. She tells him he’s doing too much too soon. He collapses and she helps him back into bed. Finn begs her to let him call his wife.
She repeats it’s too soon and he needs to make more progress or he’ll undo all her hard work saving him. All he wants is to be with Steffy. She promises he will be but he doesn’t trust her.
Sheila only wants him to be happy and back with his family. But he needs to let his strength come back naturally. As she goes on about how alike they are, he keeps thinking about what a psycho she is.
“Your mama is always going to take care of you,” she says.
He’s trying to wrap his head around everything. She explains the death certificate is real. He wonders how she brought him back to life.
Sheila doesn’t give him much of a response and goes back to promising he will be able to walk back into his old life.
She would never give up on him. The doctor asks what steps she took to keep him alive.
She remains evasive and gets fidgety as he keeps prodding for details. He doesn’t think she would know how to do anything that was necessary. Eventually she admits she wasn’t the one who saved him… not at first.
He demands to know who else knows he’s there.
She admits Li saved him. “Where’s my mom?” he asks before asking what she did to her. She sinks and flashes back to the burning car as he gets more distraught.
At the prison, Ridge tells Mike that Sheila is running around free because of him. Brooke gives him the stink eye.
Mike defends himself and Baker points out that he never mentioned being friends when he was questioned.
They all demand to know where Sheila is.
Baker orders Mike to sit down. Ridge paces as the chief gives a spiel about how anyone who aided the escaped convict will be persecuted.
However, if anyone who helped co-operates with them, that will be taken into consideration. Baker asks him flatly if he helped Sheila escape. Mike insists he did nothing wrong. This makes Ridge and Brooke livid.
Mike admits he knew Sheila but he was different in the past, he’s a good guy now with a clean record.
This rubs Ridge the wrong way and he starts bellowing for answers about where his daughter’s shooter is.
Mike continues claiming he had nothing to do with this.
Brooke asks him what he would do if someone hurt someone he loved, wouldn’t he want justice? Baker urges him to give Sheila up.
Ridge warns that he could wind up living in the prison, not working in it.

Hope wanders into Il Giardino to see her father. She admits it’s uncomfortable coming there because it reminds her of Steffy being shot. They hug and Deacon admits he remembers the shooting every day.
It still haunts him.
His daughter hopes he’s sought out professional help, and that doesn’t include Taylor. He insists he doesn’t need a shrink. They vent about Sheila sailing out of jail.
Deacon admits that he can see what Sheila is like and assures her she hasn’t been in touch.
He tells her that their father-daughter bond is the most important thing in his life and he would do nothing to risk it. She believes him. Deacon can understand how worried everyone is but he can admire Sheila for being such a great con artist.
She tells him that Mike Guthrie is her suspected accomplice. He wonders if he’s just some schmuck hung up on Sheila.
Hope is perplexed. Her father explains that Sheila is an emotional chameleon and easily manipulates people.
