At Il Giardino, Liam and Hope are glad to have gotten a sitter on short notice. They needed to get away from Thomas.
The kid is thriving so Liam’s not sure why they’d upset that.
Hope calls their home-loving and stable and unfortunately, that’s something Thomas hasn’t always been able to provide. They both thought this was settled. Hope tears up, thinking it’d upset Beth — all of them so much if he left.
“I’m getting upset just thinking about it,” she says.
Liam asks her not to get ahead of herself.
At the bar, Deacon finishes up his work and asks if he can take a break. Since he’s allowed, he checks on Hope’s table, noticing her tears. “What’s wrong?”
They tell him it’s about Thomas. Deacon says, “What about him? From everything you’ve told me about this guy, he’s already missing the rice and beans on the combo platter. Liam laughs. Hope tells him he may want to change the custody agreement.
Deacon thinks Douglas belongs with them and thinks Liam needs to go on the offensive. He offers to help talk to Thomas but Liam and Hope want to do it together.
They’re not sure if Thomas will follow through.
Brooke interrupts. She knew they would be there because their sitter told them. Deacon asks if she’s alright. She’s relieved and in shock.
Deacon’s confused. She tells them Sheila has died. “She already met her grizzly death when they found her.”
Li checks in with Bill at his house. He tells her she’s looking well and healthy. He invites her to tea but she just wanted to thank him for everything. They owe him. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time. He downplays what he did but she calls him kind.
He tells her he has a wicked reputation to protect. “Let’s keep it under wraps.”
She talks about her trauma and how she didn’t remember who she was. He blames Sheila. Li says that’s the other reason why she came.

He thinks it’s more than fitting that she died being mauled since she was an animal.
She tells him she’s heard stories about how ruthless he could be but she finds him very kind.
