In the Tuesday, January 4, 2022, full episode recap of CBS’ Bold and the Beautiful, Brooke and Deacon sort out their night, Ridge is curious about what happened with Deacon last night and Douglas tells Liam he saw Grandma kissing Santa. We also have Monday’s B&B recap where Brooke and Deacon woke up in bed together after a night of drinking.
Brooke cries as she holds the bottle of vodka and flashes back to getting loaded with Deacon and making out with him before waking up in bed with him. “Why did I drink again?” She asks herself. Ridge trots down the stairs after a shower. He asks how New Year’s Eve went. Hope wanders in and asks if he really wants to know. It was their craziest night ever. “Right Mom?” Brooke smiles, uneasy.
Hope tells Ridge about the goodies, noise makers, non-alcoholic champagne being poured. He admits her father was there briefly. They were gone before midnight. Ridge tells her he got there this morning. Hope says he was missed. Ridge asks if Deacon was on his best behavior. “The night was definitely not the same without you, Ridge.” She missed him. They embrace.
Sheila returns to her hotel room and tells herself that nobody will keep her away from Finn. “No matter what I have to do.” She eats some chocolate chip cookies and gloats about what might have happened last night to Brooke. She thinks her world is already starting to fall apart.
Douglas daydreams about seeing Brooke and Deacon kiss as Liam packs his bag. “I saw Grandma kissing Santa Claus,” he tells Liam. Liam laughs, thinking he’s talking about the Christmas song. He tells the kid to get his sister. Deacon appears at the door.
Liam says he’s about to bring the kids to see Donna. “What do you want?” Deacon says it’s about Hope. He reminds Liam they used to be able to talk. They agree Hope’s in charge of her life but if he sees heartache around the corner, he’ll tell her, even if she doesn’t want to hear.
He knows Hope thinks Deacon has changed for the better. Deacon says he has. Because of Hope writing to him in prison, despite reasons to kick him to the curb. He knows some won’t accept him. “Especially Ridge.” He asks Liam to give him a chance. Liam admits he was surprised Brooke invited him to New Year’s Eve. Deacon agrees. It was a night full of “lots of surprises.”
Later, Hope returns and Liam fills her in on her father’s visit. He thinks it was “kind of a good talk.” She’s glad. She wants them to get along. They talk about how Taylor’s back in town while her mom and Ridge are having difficulties. Liam knows that her parents don’t need the added stress from Taylor or Deacon.

At Forrester Creations, Paris admits the kiss she and Carter shared just happened. “Agreed,” Carter says. “Don’t get me wrong. You’re beautiful, smart, sweet.” She asks if he wasn’t planning on kissing her. He wasn’t making a play. His intention was to be there for her as a friend. She feels lucky that Zende wants her so badly but she’s just not ready.
Deacon sits at the bar and flashes to his night with Brooke.
Back at home, Ridge grills Brooke about Deacon being there last night. Did he invite himself? Ridge knows he always does. Brooke takes in a deep breath but says nothing, pushing Ridge to ask, “What’s going on with you?” She admits she didn’t sleep well. She doesn’t when he’s not home. She cries and says she’s not herself when he’s gone. He hugs her and apologizes. He vows that next year he’ll be with his hot, beautiful wife.
He knows they have their issues with Deacon but he’ll let that go. He knows Deacon won’t break them up. He kisses Brooke and gets a call. The prince is calling so he needs to take it. Brooke calls Deacon to tell him she’s not okay. He lets her know nothing happened last night. She reminds him she relapsed and doesn’t know how it happened.
Deacon gets it but urges her to go to her meetings and turn it around instead of torturing herself. She admits she was about to tell the truth but Deacon is glad she didn’t.
She feels guilty. Their marriage has been shaky. She doesn’t want to lose her husband. Deacon says it won’t happen. “You have got to get it together.” Brooke will go to her meeting. Deacon tells her again it was one kiss. “It’ll haunt me forever,” she says. It’s a good idea that they keep it a secret. “Forever.” He agrees to it and she disconnects and eyes the vodka bottle. She grabs it, crying and waters the plant with it.
