In the hallway, Brooke tells Bridget and Hope that Steffy is probably having a painful time dealing with her husband’s death but they couldn’t let her go on thinking she was married to Liam.

Brooke is sure this is hard for Steffy’s family. She wishes she could be there for Ridge while he is in pain. Her daughters tell her not to give up on Ridge. They always work things out. “Until maybe we don’t,” Brooke adds.

Brooke wonders if she is being selfish. Her daughters insist she isn’t.

Bridget goes into Steffy’s room to check on her and pay her condolences. The family explain she has only remembered Finn and Hayes. Steffy wants to see and hold her son. She’s tired so the doctors thinks she should rest.

“My son, please,” Steffy groans as she falls asleep.

Back in the hall, Brooke and Hope wonder whether they should go in and see Steffy. Hope can understand how freaked out Liam is and how much he still cares about Steffy.

Liam comes out and tells them how horrible it was to watch Steffy realize her husband is dead. When he sits down with Hope, he tells her how worried he is about the kids and how radically different their lives are going to be. “I’ll step up,” he says.

His wife tells him he always does and he doesn’t have to do it by himself. They can do it together. She reminds him Steffy also has a family who will pitch in.

Hope encourages him to breathe. Steffy has survived. Whoever wanted to end her life, did not succeed.

Down the hall, Bridget tells the family that Steffy was ready for this. Her memories of the shooting should come at any moment. Sheila looks antsy.

A nurse pops up to ask about pain medication and Bridget says they need to be cautious to avoid her going down the road of addiction again.
