What’s ahead for sweeps on General Hospital?
Co-Head Writers, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor dish on what’s going down with all of the residents of Port Charles on General Hospital February sweeps 2023 with Soap Opera Digest.
More war in the Corinthos clan
Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael (Chad Duell) are thrilled by the birth of their child, but her future still hangs in the balance.
Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) attempts to repair the rift within his family continue to be complicated by his relationship with Nina (Cynthia Watros).
He turns to Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) for help trying to broker a truce but Nina may undermine that when her vendetta against Carly (Laura Wright) also starts to include her threatening Drew.
As he and Carly continue attempting to keep their relationship a secret and Nina quiet, they wind up facing another enemy, Obrecht (Kathleen Gati).
Obrecht out of control
While Scott (Kin Shriner) has had a calming effect on Obrecht, that could soon vanish.
Scott’s choice to help someone may cause a rift between them that sets her spiraling out of control.
As Brad (Parry Shen) continues grieving for the loss of Britt, his aunt steps up to give him some support.
Wedding day slips
As the Ashford family prepares for a Valentine’s wedding, Stella’s (Vernee Watson) glaring discomfort and distance make it obvious that something is off although no one is saying what.
Even if Stella and Jordan manage to keep quiet about Curtis (Donnell Turner) potentially being Trina’s (Sydney Mikayla) biological father, one unintended slip-up could end up exposing Portia.
Put to the test
Joss (Eden McCoy) has to face how strong her feelings for Dex (Even Hofer) are when the mob enforcer places his life in her hands.
Meanwhile, Cam (William Lipton) is distracted from his rage about them when he hears about what happened to Esme (Avery Pohl).
Baby on the run
Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) and Heather (Alley Mills) manage to get out of Spring Ridge with Esme by their side.
But the family trip is far from smooth.
Not only is Ryan adamant about sticking around town so he can settle some scores with Ava (Maura West) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner), Esme goes into labor at the worst possible moment leaving the deranged grandparents with yet another problem to solve.

Victor unwavering in his scheme
Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) are also skulking around Port Charles, trying to prevent Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) from finding out that they are back.
They need help from Felicia but she’s got some dangers of her own to deal with. Victor may still be mourning since he thinks Valentin is dead, but that is not preventing him from going after his goals.
Carnage on Spoon Island
Over on Spoon Island, Ava’s post-divorce life is not going at all as she’d planned.
There may be lots of space, but it’s not enough to hide the bodies that start piling up.
Meanwhile, Laura (Genie Francis) keeps trying to act as an intermediary between Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) and Nikolas (Adam Huss), but her patience is getting thin and so is her ability to forgive.
This will only be made worse when she makes a new enemy. And Spencer and Trina are thrown closer together as their relationship takes a turn while their lives collapse.
Going to the cops
After having told Finn (Michael Easton) all about what’s been happening with Nikolas, Liz (Rebecca Herbst) wonders if it’s time to talk to the cops.
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) heads over to the police after some digging helps her uncover something worrying.
She’s also worried about what’s going on with Gregory (Gregory Harrison) after he turns down her job offer.
As Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) jet off to England to search for Esme’s nanny, they could wind up meeting their doom.
And Brook Lynn and Chase (Josh Swickard) continue to aim their sights on Linc (Dan Buran) but their plan is still failing.
Blood on Austin’s hands
And Austin’s (Roger Howarth) attempt to help someone could be his undoing. Mason (Nathanyael Grey) moves on from merely threatening him to taking action and things start to get bloody.
