General Hospital recap for Thursday, July 14, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Curtis and Marshall chase after a clue, Spencer gets into a confrontation with Rory, and Nikolas offers to try to get Esme into Spring Ridge.
We also have Wednesday’s GH recap where Carly lashed out and refuses Nina’s offer to buy the Metro Court, which only drove her close to Sonny.
As they walk the halls of an apartment building, Curtis suggests that Marshall go sit in the car and relax. Marshall doesn’t want to be treated like an old man and is determined to find the man who sold Esme the phone.
They knock on a door.
The man from the bar opens.
They tell him they want to buy a phone. He wonders if they are cops and they push their way in, claiming that his friend Jack vouches for them.
Curtis tells him he should be worried about testifying at the trial. Dude has no idea about the trial and notes they aren’t the first people to ask about that phone. He makes it clear he has no inventory.
When they leave, Curtis tells his confused father that went exactly as according to plan. They hang back and wait for the dude to leave so they can follow him.
They follow him down to the docks and he heads for the launch to Wyndemere.
At Wyndemere, Nikolas tries to tempt Ava to the bedroom but she needs to go out today. It’s the start of Trina’s trial. She asks if he could keep Esme away from the event.
He’d like to but he doesn’t have that kind of sway with her.
After they kiss, he tries to tempt her again but she asks for a raincheck.
Esme corners Spencer and asks him what happened last night. He came home late and barely said a word to her. He claims he just had a lot on his mind. They could both be dragged into the trial.
She suggests they fly away and avoid the whole thing.
He claims they can’t leave because he has a surprise for her. It’s going to rock her world. After he takes off, Nikolas comes out and bumps into her. She vents about Spencer being hung up on Trina.
She still loves him.
The prince points out that’s a good reason for them never to let anyone know they slept together. The fallout could be monumental. He explains that he tried to get her back into Spring Ridge but hasn’t had any luck yet.
When he adds that he’s still trying to sway the hospital board to override Kevin, she thanks him and throws her arms around him.
The dude shows up and she’s not happy to see him.

Laura drops by Portia’s to see Trina before the trial. She’s already made a statement on her behalf. Diane tells everyone about Serena being arrested at an environmental protest. Scott has flown off to help her so she will be taking over Trina’s defense.
If it’s too last minute, she can request a continuance. Trina can’t handle this hanging over hear head any longer. She’s determined to get out of limbo and prove she’s innocent.
Joss explains Diane has gotten Sonny off many times, even though he’s always been guilty. Portia wonders if having a mob attorney will make Trina look bad. The lawyer says she has some innocent clients and admits she’s had innocent clients go to prison.
There are cracks in the state’s case and Trina’s goodness will show through. Trina agrees to go ahead with her trial today.
Sitting down, they go over the case and Diane explains that Trina’s character will be attacked. Joss assures her she will make sure she looks good.
Laura has to go to a meeting, tells Trina not to worry, and takes off. Diane sits everyone around and gives them all advice on how to behave in the court room. Portia gets a call from work and has to take it.
Diane steps away to call her office. Trina thanks Joss for coming by and Joss asks her how things went with Rory.
She admits they’ve kisses and Joss wonders if that means they are a thing.
Trina says they can’t be a thing as long as the trial is hanging over them.
Portia and Diane discuss what could happen if Trina ends up being incarcerated. That makes some people fall apart. The doctor worries that the stress could bring out serious mental health issues. “There aren’t any family medical issues to worry about, right?” the lawyer asks.
Ava joins them, surprised to see Diane has taken over the case. After Diane gives her spiel about the whole case being based on Trina’s character, she and Portia walk off.
Ava tells Joss that Trina has been holding onto evidence that could clear her for months. It’s time for her to explain what it is. Trina says it’s not a magic bullet and notices she’s not wearing her lucky necklace.
Ava has it at home and leaves to get it.
Joss asks her friend what evidence she has. Trina’s not sure it will help. She explains that she has an alibi for when the sex tape was posted. She was with Spencer while he had escaped from Spring Ridge.
If that came out, he would go to prison.
Joss tells her she has to use this. It could be a game changer.
Meanwhile, as Ava heads back to Wyndemere, she runs into Marshall and Curtis on the launch.
On the Metro Court terrace, Valentin brings his father some champagne and orange juice. They bicker about Valentin failing to poison Laura. Victor assumes he wants to kill him.
His son has a different idea for solving their problems with the mayor.
It’s too late though. Victor has already taken matters into his own hands. His son insists that poisoning Laura in public was a bad plan. If he wants her neutralized, they need to change tactics.
He wants to know what’s going on but his father won’t explain because he doesn’t trust him.
Trust needs to be earned. Before he leaves, Valentin asks him again to let him handle Laura.
After he leaves, Victor says that’s a promise he can’t make.
Later, Laura bumps into Valentin and asks what really happened when he spilled that drink on her. It seemed deliberate. He only seems rattled when there is an issue with Charlotte. As they talk, a sniper takes aim at Laura.
They go over the mess with the Quartermaines and all the infighting.
He spots the sniper and pushes her into the corner behind some people. She’s confused and he’s apologetic. The mayor assumes something is going on. She has to go to a meeting and leaves.
Once she’s gone, he gestures to the sniper to cut it out.
Valentin calls his father to tell him this was a bad move. There are other ways to neutralize Laura. He’s already taken care of it.
Spencer goes to General Hospital and picks up the DNA test. He bumps into Rory and it falls on the floor. They bicker and Spencer accuses the cop of complicating peoples lives. He knows he kisses Trina last night.
He confronts the cop for being a hypocrite and bending the rules to suit himself.
Rory wonders why he cares who Trina is spending her time with.
Spencer says she’s a friend of his and if he hurts her, he will have to answer to him.
When Laura arrives, she gets a call with bad news about her mother.
