Tuesday, July 11, 2023, full episode recap of GH: Nina learns Curtis was shot as Anna and Sonny continue to speculate on the shooter, Joss lays into Esme, and Marshall tells Stella about therapy.
Monday’s GH recap: Curtis was critically shot, Dante found the smoking gun, and Sonny and Anna debated which one of them was the target.
Sonny and Anna are still by the Metro Court pool. The boss is waiting for news from the hospital from Dex. Anna feels bad for Curtis. The shooter was aiming for one of them and he got in the way.
Anna wonders if the shots were a warning against her. It doesn’t seem like a personal or a mob shooting. She asks if this could have something to do with his business with Valentin.
Nina shows up in a panic. They explain that Curtis was hit and rushed to the hospital. She wonders if someone from his past was settling a score.
They tell her he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She assumes someone was trying to kill Sonny.
Sonny says there’s no reason to think it was him. Anna adds she could have been the target.
Dex calls the boss to give him an update on Curtis. It feels like the odds are stacked against him. Sonny tells him to stick close to Joss and then fills the ladies in.
Nina is eager to get to the hospital so he has Frank take her. Anna asks Sonny about his fiancée thinking someone was trying to finish what they started. He reminds her they aren’t supposed to ask each other questions like that.
Anna wonders if the choices they’ve made in their lives have been the right ones if they are always left watching their backs. He asks if she would do things differently if she could turn back the clock.
She’s not sure. He recalls his life in Nixon Falls… but at the end of the day, he’s Sonny Corinthos. He’s okay with that.
They tell each other to take care.
In the park, Finn tells Liz she did great tonight. She thinks they both did. They speculate on why the shooting happened and the randomness of it.
“It could have been you,” they realize in unison.
They discuss seeing death every day in the hospital. But when it’s someone you know, it’s different. He says tonight has taught them not to waste a minute.
They thought of each other when the shooting happened. When she says sometimes bad things happen to good people and vice versa. He says that everyone makes mistakes and they should be brave enough to move on and be smarter.
They talk about the risks of taking a second plunge and all the hurt than can come with it. He asks if she’s ready to take the plunge again.
“Are you?” she asks. The doctor repeats that tonight has reminded them they may never get another chance. All they can do is try.
They kiss and remember they need to get back to their kids. Neither of them has plans for tomorrow night so he asks her out.
“We can stay in,” she suggests, offering to cook lasagna. He’d love that. They walk off, holding hands.
At General Hospital, Esme thanks Spencer for taking the parenting class with her.
There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his brother.
Joss interrupts and demands to know why they are hanging out after class.
She tells them that Curtis was shot. He jogs away and Joss orders her to stick around to chat.
Joss tells her that Trina needs Spencer right now and adds it’s good she came when she did.
“I’m onto you,” she warns, accusing him of trying to get “tender” with Spencer.
Esme says she’s not the person she used to be.
Joss still wants her to pay and tells her to turn herself in. Her family taught her that people who hurt her have to pay for it.
Esme insists that Spencer is only helping her with Ace. That’s all there is to it. Joss still thinks she’s a psycho like her parents.
Esme is offended and Joss keeps trashing her until Dex interrupts. Esme asks Dex to tell Trina she’s thinking positive thoughts for her and runs off.
Joss claims she just caught a glimpse of the real Esme. She’s convinced the sociopathic Esme is just waiting to come out.
A doctor tells Portia and Trina he’s called in a neurosurgeon and they’re doing all they can for Curtis.
Trina worries there’s a chance he could be paralyzed. Portia tries to be positive and hugs her daughter.
Portia tells the surgeon to do all he can to save Curtis’ life, no matter the risk.
He takes off and Portia tells Trina how strong she is. She feels scared, not strong.
Her mom tells her she may be terrified but she has hope and he certainly wants to be there for her and be in her life.
Trina runs into Spencer’s arms when he arrives.
Sitting her down, he tells her that she and Curtis are cut from the same cloth. They have the same will to live.

Marshall and Stella get coffee at the bistro.
They miss her sister Irene and how full of life she was.
“Just like Curtis,” she says.
He’s amazed that he’s found a whole family since he got back. She brings up his losing Epiphany and says she was a fine woman.
He recalls her kissing him before she left to do her MCATs. That one kiss is going to have to last him forever.
She suggests he talk to a shrink. He already has. That makes her proud.
He adds that it’s almost certain he was misdiagnosed 40 years ago.
He assumes what he thinks really happened wouldn’t have been in the original file.
Portia calls to say Curtis has been shot and is being brought into surgery.
Back at General Hospital, Curtis is sent to surgery. Stella and Marshall arrive and Portia tells them the surgery will take some time.
Stella weeps about not being able to talk to him before he went in.
Stella tells Trina she needs to think positive thoughts for her father. This can’t be the end of their journey. That’s something Trina wishes to believe.
Marshall and Trina sob about how meaningful family is. Nina rushes in and Portia tells her Curtis won’t go out without a fight.
As they wait, they tell Portia to pull some strings to get an update. She says all they can do is pray and be patient. Spencer offers to use his connections to get information but she shuts him down.
Esme rushes in to tell Trina how sorry she is. She and Spencer heard about it in parenting class. She asks Spencer if there’s a message to pass on to Ace and promises to say a prayer for Curtis, She leaves, looking back at them.
Nina paces with Portia and tells her no one loves their life as much as Curtis does. She tells the whole family how much he loves to have them around. Marshall kicks himself for staying away for so long.
Trina tells Spencer she wishes she had Stella’s faith. He tells her she can trust he’s not going anywhere.
