General Hospital recap for Friday, April 1, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Joss and Cam want to support their friend, Spencer surprises Esme with his suggestion, and Nina has a fight with Carly.
We also have Wednesday’s GH recap where Sonny grilled Esme after having her abducted, and Victor threatened Sonny.
Alexis sees the man who blames her for his brother’s death at her door at work. Neil’s brother, Brendan Byrne (played by Josh Coxx), heard that she lost her license and was imprisoned. She’s flattered he kept up with her life and asks, “What do you want?”
He apologizes. She’s shocked that it’s all he wanted to say. They discuss Neil and she admits she wishes she knew about Neil’s addiction. He hid it from her.
Harmony finds Nina at Charlie’s Place and tells her that Willow doesn’t think it’s good for Nina to have contact with Wiley. Nina snaps that if it’s a fight she wants, she’ll get one.
Especially after what happened with Carly. Harmony asks her to give her time to heal from the divorce. Nina worries this will go on until he’s in college. Harmony looks away, seeming guilty.
Nina trashes Willow and then apologizes since she’s Harmony’s daughter. Harmony calls her just as strong as her mother. Nina doubts that. She’s overcome a lot and turned her life around. Harmony can’t take it anymore and struggles with tears. She takes off, saying she has an appointment.
In court, Trina pleads non guilty and Curtis nods from behind her. The ADA wants bail set at $250,000 dollars. Judge Oliver Young refuses and lets her go on her own reconnaissance.
Ava, Curtis, Joss and Cam hug her, and talk about proving her innocence. Scott tells the ADA and Molly that they should get used to the judge seeing things his way.
The ADA plans on sticking it to Trina to get her into prison for the full term. Ava and Scott stare at each other, taking it all in. Outside, Trina thanks her friends. Scott tells the room that tomorrow, they’ll start their work to keep her out of prison.
Ava shows them a place to exit where reporters won’t find them. They leave and Smoltz rushes in for the scoop from Joss and Cam. They roll their eyes, collectively. Ava returns and threatens Smoltz.
Cam tells the man to get lost so he does. He calls it their loss and Trina’s, on the way out. Ava says that Avery would never forgive her if she didn’t stand up for her sister.

The latest GH casting news – Trina recast
In his office, Sonny tells Brick that they’re going to the memorial service for Jason since Monica’s going to declare him officially dead. He brings up Selina Wu and says he needs someone to step up and fill that hole Jason left. “I accept,” Brick says.
Brick can do the cyber work and logistics but he’ll need a day person. Sonny needs to find out who targeted his step-daughter. Brick says it’s taking all his self-control not to take out every one of them.
Sonny reveals he suspects who did it and put them on notice. He reveals it’s Esme Prince. If they can prove it, it’ll be justice and a way for Spencer to dump this girlfriend. Brick’s on it. In the meantime, he asks who is looking out for him, while he looks out for everyone else.
He asks what’s going on with him and Nina. Sonny says the connection they had was real. He thinks about dancing with Nina. Talk turns to Esme. He asks Brick to ask how she engineered that video.
He’s on it. Sonny offers sparkling water to drink to the deal. Brick grins and admires the man more than ever.
At Windemere, Esme asks if Spencer wants to go to the court house to be with Trina during her arraignment. Spencer’s annoyed. She talks about needing protection from Sonny and heads upstairs to take her bags.
Nik asks why Spencer’s treating her this way when he invited her. He’s sorry. She presses his buttons. He sarcastically asks if there’s a bomb shelter on the island.
He’d like to get inside when Nik tells Ava that Esme moved in. She’d happily throw Esme to the wolves. What if Esme is pregnant? Nikolas says he needs to find out.
Later, Esme finds Spencer and tells him she heard Trina plead not guilty. He hopes she can prove it and asks why she didn’t take the pregnancy test. She hasn’t.
He asks, “Are you scared that you’re pregnant or that you’re not?” She doesn’t need a test to know she wants to be with him. She asks if he wants to be with her — with or without the baby. She asks if her being there will help him drive a wedge between Ava and Nikolas.
Portia and Curtis take Trina to the beach house. They talk about fighting the charges against her. Their support helped her out a lot. Curtis says they can do more than that. He can find evidence to exonerate her.
Trina says Spencer is right. Tons of people believe in her but there’s evidence that proves she did it. Esme made sure of that. She’s still looking forward to returning to the dorms when this nightmare ends, and then this place will be theirs.
Portia says they’re all in this together. They share a group hug.
Scott finds Nina at Charlie’s Place. They immediately argue. He snaps that if she wants his help, he’ll have to hear her thank him for keeping her out of prison.
She mumbles, “I made a mistake.” Scotty barks, “What?” She admits it louder.
She needs him to help her fight for Wiley. He’s busy with Trina Robinson but if he takes it, she needs to fight. If it means kicking Sonny to the curb, she will do it! Carly, Michael and Willow will take sides.
Nina won’t lose Sonny if he’s the man she knew in Nixon Falls and the man she sees in Port Charles. She wants both. Scotty rubs his head in exasperation. Nobody gets it all! Diane will dig things up on her. Nina gets it. They shake on him taking her case.
Harmony arrives at Alexis’ office and meets Brendan. Alexis practically shoves him out of the room, verbally and once he’s gone, she admits that was a scary conversation.
He still blames her for Neil’s death. Harmony flashes to killing Neil and tries to comfort Alexis and tells her to stay away from the man.
Brendan’s back at his hotel and looks through some files. He finds one with Harmony Miller’s name. He smiles to himself. He knew it sounded familiar!
Ava arrives home to find Esme reading “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” and her mouth drops open wide.
