General Hospital recap for Monday, May 16, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Dante gives Sonny a warning, Ned secretly meets with Valentin, and someone is watching Chase and Brook Lynn.
We also have Friday’s GH recap where Willow got confirmation Harmony wasn’t her biological mother and Michael vowed retaliation against Sonny.
Curtis arrives at home and is happy to see Portia in their living room. They kiss and she mentions she only came home to change before having lunch with her daughter.
As she jogs off, he answers the door. It’s Stella.
Stella assumes he called her over for something serious. He tells her that Marshall left town after an argument. She thought he would open up more after they got to know him.
Curtis was getting annoyed by his deceptions concerning his past. She wonders how he knows so much. He admits he went snooping and tells her what he learned about his father being put in a mental institution after he was arrested at a protest.
He notices that she doesn’t seem surprised by any of this and wonders why she has been lying to him about what she knows.
She’s sorry and admits that she knew what really happened when they were kids.
He can’t believe she watched him grow up thinking his father was dead. She hated every second of it. It broke her heart.
When Marshall came back wanting a relationship, she didn’t want to get in the way of that. Curtis doesn’t know how he can believe anything she says anymore.
Stella never wanted to see him in pain. Right or wrong, Marshall really believed he was giving him what he needed. Curtis asks if his mother knew. She confirms she agreed to it.
As she cries and apologizes, he holds her. He loves her but doesn’t understand this. She says it’s not her story to tell. He needs to ask his father.
At Wyndemere, Esme walks in on Spencer digging around on the web. Suppressing her rage, she puts on a happy face and announces she has a surprise.
She’s arrange for them to have a romantic picnic as a bit of foreplay. Nikolas interrupts as his son tells her that her plan is sweet but he can’t go anywhere.
After Spencer makes an excuse and exits, she sits with Nikolas and tells him about how wrong things are going with his son. He knows how that feels.
As she vents about her trust issues with Spencer, he commiserates. She gets over apologetic, recalling all the things he’s going through with Ava.
Esme explains what a mess she was before Spencer. She tells Nikolas he is not just her boyfriend’s father; he is also the man who rescued her.
Esme can’t understand why Ava doesn’t see that the thing he cares about the most is his family. Who could ask for more than that? She tells him how safe he makes her feel.
Taking his hand, she wishes Ava could see him the way she does. “What way is that?” he asks.
Ava joins Trina at Kelly’s and senses something is wrong. Trina fears she is about to be expelled. Ava attempts to reassure her but this doesn’t work. Trina explains PCU can kick her out whether or not the courts clear her.
Ava points out that Joss and Cam are on the record as siding with her. There’s every chance the school investigation will see she’s innocent. Trina’s not convinced.
They both vent about Esme. Ava admits that things are strained with Nikolas, and that’s not just because of Esme. She encourages Trina to focus on herself.
Outside, Spencer bumps into Portia and asks after Trina. She declares her daughter is off limits to him. She starts tearing into him about all the things her daughter is poised to lose.
Trina’s life is being ruined and it’s all because of him and his awful girlfriend. As she yells at him, Ava and Trina finally notice from inside.
They come out and Ava orders him inside, leaving mother and daughter to talk. Portia tells her that Spencer deserves what she gave him. Her daughter is grateful she has her back.
Inside, Ava lectures Spencer for showing up. He tells her he’s working and she has no authority there. When Trina comes in to get her bag, Spencer apologizes but that doesn’t work.

In the square, Leo worries to his parents about Chase not showing up for his speech. Olivia offers to take his place but that won’t work because it’s not how Leo practised it. Ned gets him to take some deep breaths.
Chase arrives just before Leo can meltdown. Olivia thanks him for being there and then gives her son a hug before going to her seat with Ned.
When Leo worries about the crowd, Chase reassures him and promises he will sing any song he likes at his birthday party as long as he does his poem.
Sam and Willow find Drew and Sonny. Drew and Sam go off to look at a painting and Sonny asks Willow how she’s holding up. When he offers her anything she needs, Michael pops up and tells him she’ll never need anything from him.
Dante arrives and tries to defuse things. Willow leads Michael away. Sonny tells Dante he won’t let his other son chase him away. Whatever happens next is up to Michael. If he wants to apologize, they can work it out. Dante worries more damage could still be done.
Willow assures Michael that his father was only offering his condolences.
Everyone sits down for the beginning of the show. Drew sits with Ned and Olivia. Ned is eager to discuss business. His wife reminds him where they are. Leo is called up in stage to recite his poem.
Leo stares out and imagines he is speaking to Chase alone and then recites his poem. Everyone claps. His family give him hugs and tell him he’s amazing. He rushes off to his birthday party.
Dante corners his father and Sonny asks him if Michael is planning something. The cop urges him to speak to Michael before things escalate any further.
Michael and Drew tell Ned that they want to offer him the COO job after the merger of Aurora and ELQ. This doesn’t impress him, but he says they’ve given him a lot to consider.
On the patio, Felicia starts grilling Anna about Valentin. Anna insists there is nothing to tell… but she admits she’s kissed him since he’s been back.
Valentin shows up. When Anna leaves to take a call, Felicia asks him why he kissed her friend and then ghosted her. That’s unacceptable. She makes it clear he’ll have her to answer to.
Anna returns and tells them the latest on the WSB case against Jennifer Smith. They still can’t find the Frenchman that she was with. Valentin says he might be able to help with that.
He tries to make a date with Anna. She’s reluctant and offers to let him know before walking off with her friend.
Ned, Olivia, and Leo arrive on the patio. He rushes off to play with his birthday balloons and Ned steps away to make a call.
Ned goes outside to meet with Valentin.
As Brook Lynn thanks Chase for being supportive of her brother, someone watches them from the bushes.
