General Hospital recap for Friday, June 3, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Sonny urges Nina not to run away, Dante doesn’t seem to want Cody to stick around, and Taggert grills Rory.
We also have Thursday’s GH recap where Dante’s friend Cody landed in Port Charles and Carly lied about the DNA test results.
After getting her passport, Nina climbs into a rideshare. She’s heading for the airport but needs to stop somewhere first.
After finding Nina’s necklace in the graveyard, Sonny talks to Phyllis on the phone and assures her he will find Nina. He calls Brick and asks him to find Nina before she does something she regrets. Brick calls him back to say she’s booked a flight to Milan.
Before Sonny can take off, Nina shows up. They talk about the hearing and she admits she’s headed to the airport and only stopped to get her necklace. She hates leaving him but can’t hurt him more.
Sonny repeats that he has forgiven her for what she did to him. Nina still feels that she has lost everything and all links to her daughter. She’s said terrible things and lost her chance at getting back what her mother stole from her.
Nina begs for the necklace so she can go. He places it in her hand and asks her how Wiley will feel when he finds out she gave up on him. If she runs away, Wiley will believe the lies about her.
She feels lost. He tells her to break the pattern of running away and prove to Wiley how much she loves him. She can have a life there but she won’t know if she runs away.
He promises to be with her every step of the way. She’s not sure how she will watch Wiley grow up without her. They hug and she weeps.
At Charlie’s, Sam is amazed to discover Cody and Dante have known each other since they were 12. They met at camp and quickly began getting into trouble, tipping canoes, stealing cigarettes, and whatnot.
They laugh and Cody comments Britt is pretty but if she wasn’t there, he would have had a perfect landing. When he gets up, he has a back pain and claims it’s from an old injury.
While he leaves to get a round in, Sam wonders why Dante never mentioned his friend before. The cop tells her he’s good at getting in trouble.
Cody returns and Sam begins grilling him about his private life. He explains he was a stunt horseback rider for a long time. He had too many tumbles so now he does short-term gigs.
He asks about their relationship and soon learns that Dante has been reunited with his father. Dante claims he’s a businessman and then admits it’s Sonny Corinthos. The cop guesses he’s heard the name.
They talk about their lives. Cody is glad they’ve had the chance to catch up. Sam invites him to dinner tomorrow. He claims he has to take off to his next gig. She says if he’s looking for a job longterm, she knows one that might be a good fit.
She knows a stable looking for a horse groomer. Dante says it’s a good idea but not right for Cody. He’s an adventurer. Cody agrees. “Dante’s always had my number,” he adds.
Joss arrives at the patio where Cam is working an extra shift. She wants to talk about what’s going on between them. He’s about to explain when Adam, the guy who came onto Joss months ago pops up, eager to talk.
Joss agrees to speak to him. He apologizes for being a jerk. After reading her article in The Invader, he checked himself and is sorry. She thanks him and accepts the apology.
They join Cam and Adam tells them they are brave and then takes off. Joss says that was legit and they changed his perspective. She won’t have any closure on any of this until Esme gets what she deserves.
Joss asks what he was going to tell her. He claims he’s just worried about his mom and they hug.

GH comings and goings – Chet and Brando out
As Rory walks Trina home, she thanks him for the day out. He thanks her for introducing her to a food truck and can’t wait to see what else she introduces him to.
Inside, Portia and Taggert talk about their daughter. When they open the door, they find her with Rory and ask for an introduction. They bring them in and start quizzing them about how they met.
Taggert isn’t impressed. Rory congratulates him on taking down Cyrus. Taggert points out he had to break the law to do that and asks Rory if he likes breaking rules. The cop assures him he’s a by-the-book guy.
Taggert tells him there are written and unwritten rules. Rory insists he isn’t violating anything by hanging out with Trina. Portia changes the subject and Rory goes on about his work-life balance. Taggert shakes his head.
After Taggert walks him out, Portia and her daughter squee about how nice Rory is.
At Wyndemere, Spencer admits to Esme that he takes her for granted. She deserves some answers. Getting whispery, he begs her to forgive him. He claims he may need some more chances to be the man she deserves.
She needs more than just a promise he’s trying, and not very hard. “I deserve better. Your father reminded me of that,” she says.
Esme tells him his father cares about him and gave her a new perspective on relationships. He claims he’s ready to do whatever it takes to make sure things work between them.
Taking his hand, she tells him this could be a new beginning for them.
Nikolas tells Ava that he was ready to give up on their marriage. So was she but she realized she doesn’t want to walk away. They had a fight but so what? It will take more than that to sever their bond.
He flashes back to having sex with Esme and then tells his wife they have had more than one argument. The last time she walked away, he thought it was over. She says things get ugly between them but when they work together, they are unbeatable.
Ava doesn’t want to let Spencer and Esme tear down their lives. He reminds her they have always struggled with trust. She thinks there is love and kinship between them and that can see them through.
“I’m with you. Always and forever,” he says. But when she tries to kiss him, he pulls away. He assures her he loves her. They almost gave up on each other so it may take time to get back to normal.
She says there is one thing between them they need to settle one and for all. They rehash her offering Spencer money to get him out of there. She agrees not to make Spencer choose between money and living there.
He tells her that Spencer and Esme might be breaking up. “Things are look up already!” she says, reaching for booze. He smiles dorkily.
When Esme and Spencer join them, Ava tells Spencer that she will give him access to his money and he can stay. She’s learned that Esme and Spencer are taking a break.
Esme corrects her and explains they have worked everything out. “He stays, I stay. Does that alter your terms?” she asks. Ava gulps and decides to accept this. Spencer grudgingly goes along with this.
After Spencer and Ava walk out to get him money, he asks if she is okay with this. Clearly annoyed, she promises to do her best to tolerate Esme.
Meanwhile, Nikolas tells Esme that it’s best that Spencer and Ava never find out what happened. She agrees to agree. When he walks out, she rolls her eyes.
