General Hospital recap for Thursday, September 29, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Mason gives Austin another assignment, Trina refuses the fellowship Curtis and Ava get her, and Spinelli tells Sam about the crimes he’s committed.
We also have Wednesday’s GH recap where Jordan confronted Portia about Curtis being Trina’s father, Ava fired Trina, and Sonny has Dex tortured for information.
In Jordan’s office, Portia asks her if she will tell Curtis her theory that he is Trina’s biological father. The cop says it’s up to her to tell him.
The doctor says she’s already told him he’s not her father. Besides, Trina is Taggert’s whole world and she adores him.
Jordan warns that this will come back to haunt her. Curtis doesn’t handle deceit well. If he finds out on his own, it will end badly.
Curtis bumps into his father chuckling with Epiphany at General Hospital. After the nurse wanders off, Marshall explains he’s there to give music therapy to patients.
Marshall polishes up his clarinet and his son teases him about Epiphany. When he asks his son about the upcoming wedding, Curtis explains the mix up with the divorce papers.
In Ava’s room, Trina tells her that working at the gallery is what gives her focus. Her boss says it’s too dangerous and she needs to close the gallery right now.
Ava adds that she’s managed to get her a fellowship at the CHUCK. Trina is overwhelmed. Ava explains she should be thanking Curtis.
He walks in and explains that he helped arrange this because he thought it would he safer. She asks him to step out and talk before rejecting the fellowship and walking off.
Curtis chases after her and asks what this is about. She’s annoyed he didn’t ask her first. He says that’s fair but he meant well. As she lectures him about not being her dad, Portia arrives.
She doesn’t know what she walked in on so they recap it for her. Curtis is sure that her father would have overstepped her boundaries in this situation too. He urges her not to turn down this opportunity.
She walks off. Curtis tells Portia he’s not trying to take Taggert’s place. He just wants Trina to know she can rely on him.
Epiphany wheels Ava down the hall to listen to Marshall playing clarinet.
Sam assures Spinelli there is nothing illegal about creating a matchmaking service. He explains he violated the compute fraud and abuse act.
She can see he’s in real trouble and get him to walk her through it. Spinelli explains that after losing Ellie and Jason, he was lonely. He tried dating sites, but they were disappointing, so he built a better one.
It could have been worthy of a Nobel Prize for love, but to make it work, he hacked into the digital footprints of people all over the world and all their private information.
“You’re screwed,” she says, urging him to shut down Society Set-Ups now. He can’t do it when it’s making people so happy and making so much money.
She wonders how his program could have matched Cody and Britt if it’s so good. He admits that Cody coerced him to do that for reasons that may not have been romantic.
Felicia and Mac pace, waiting for news about Diane. He asks her what happened after he left her alone with Cody.

Kelly Thiebaud exits and the latest GH comings and goings
At Maxie’s, she tells Cody that if Mac was his dead, that would be a huge step up from Leopold. He doesn’t think having a cop for a dad is a good thing.
Austin can understand why he’s leery of a new family. Maxie is sure Cody won’t regret giving Mac a chance. Cody thinks he will be disappointed.
Austin gets a text and has to take off. On his way out, Felicia and Mac arrive. Mac is startled to see Cody is there and Felicia assures him she didn’t know he was there.
Before Cody can escape, Felicia asks him to stay. Maxie prompts him to man up. Cody explains he’s realized the cop is trying to find out if he is his son.
It took Mac a while to accept this is possible, but he’s not afraid of it anymore. He can see Cody is and wonders why. Maxie tells him his family is the best.
Cody admits that finding out he might be part of a new family is a lot to take in. He’s not sure he wants to go down that road. Maxie repeats he could do a lot worse and Felicia says he couldn’t do better.
The only way they can know the truth is to get a DNA test.
Amy is surprised when Austin shows up at General Hospital. The doctor finds Mason and reminds him he doesn’t work for him. Mason says they work for the same person, and he doesn’t get to quit.
Tonight, it’s time for Austin to do some heavy lifting for the family business. Austin tells him when he’s done this, he’s done for good. Mason laughs about that.
Amy calls the doctor over to deal with a patient. Austin leads him away.
Mason joins them in an exam room and Austin gives the guy an injection.
At Sonny’s restaurant, he argues with Michael about Dex and protecting the family.
Sonny reminds him he doesn’t want him in his life. If that’s changed, he needs to understand that he will do whatever it takes to protect those he cares about, no matter whose sensibilities that hurts.
Michael tells him that throwing his associates to the wolves on a flimsy pretext doesn’t make him right. Sonny wonders what makes him think Dex is innocent.
Michael doesn’t think Dex makes sense as a suspect. Going after an innocent man only leaves the killer on the loose to go after someone else he cares about.
Joss interrupts and asks to see Dex. She reminds him that Dex saved Ava’s life and she’s sure he’s not the killer. He would have been covered in Ava’s blood and there was no time to change.
Sonny sends them away.
In the freezer, Carver shows Dex his knives and urges him to start talking. Frank joins them and suggests they leave Dex to twist.
Dex manages to knock the knives off the table, but Carver returns and throws a bucket of water at him. Dex kicks him.
Sonny interrupts to say they are holding off to do some fact checking. He tells Carver to stay on call.
At the PCPD, Dante looks through the report on Ava’s injuries. Jordan arrives and he says her attacker would have been covered in her blood.
He tells her that Joss heard a clicking before Brando was attacked. She thinks Dex is innocent and he’s inclined to think she’s right.
