General Hospital recap for Thursday, April 27, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Portia wants some reassurance from Curtis, Laura warns Nikolas to distance himself from Esme, and Trina fights with Spencer.
We also have Wednesday’s GH recap where Sasha ran over Harmony while being pursued by a paparazzo.
At Wyndemere Esme catches Spencer on the phone, demanding a favor. He gets off the line and tells her that he just told Cam that he needs to watch what he says about her. She’s impressed he defended her.
Spencer has to go to do his community service at the gallery. He’s doing it after hours to avoid Trina. “It has always been us against the world,” he tells her, giving her a kiss.
Esme walks in on Nikolas in a huff after getting a message form Ava saying she won’t see him tonight. He’d prepared a special dinner for them.
After he smashes the table, she tells him how sorry she is.
Esme blames herself for this and for Ava placing his vow renewal on hold. She can’t understand why she doesn’t appreciate him.
“I want that kind of passion and loyalty in my life,” she says, adding they don’t deserve to be stuck without love.
Laura interrupts and announces Esme is not stuck on Spoon Island. She spoke to Sonny and he gave her his word that nothing will happen to Esme. Now she can move out. “Let’s not be too hasty,” Nikolas says.
Esme explains that she has no money and Spencer has no job. She leaves to talk to him, giving Laura a hug on the way out.
The mayor decides she arrived just in time. She feels like she walked in on a close moment between him and Esme.
Nikolas glosses over that and hopes things will be better with Ava once his guest is out. Laura worries about Spencer becoming more isolated thanks to his fights with his friends.
She is sure that Esme is sewing chaos in everything and could poison everyone. Nikolas is sure that everything will be fine once the dust settles.
Trina nearly pepper sprays Rory when he surprises her at the gallery. He was checking the security and the place was unlocked. She brings up him arresting Cam and Spencer.
He explains that both of them got off with a warning. She says he was just doing his job. Rory introduces himself and tells him she can call him any time. When he looks at a painting, he admits he doesn’t know what he thinks about it.
He walks past the Port Charles museum all the time but never goes in. She thinks that’s a shame and he should go in. As they discuss the painting, Spencer listens in and then interrupts.
Spencer announces he is there to start his restitution. Rory exits and the Cassadine asks why she is hanging out with a cop.
She explains that he’s been assigned to protect her. They bicker and she accuses him of being an entitled brat.
He reminds her that she is doing all she can to stay out of prison too. She makes it clear that she regrets having him in her life.
Spencer asks her not to hurt him no matter how much he deserves it.
She accuses him of abandoning her when she needed him the most. After he admits that he’s on better terms with his dad, she wonders if he is there to run away from Esme.
Spencer admits that he felt useful at Kelly’s. She decides to leave him a to-do list to keep him busy until he can go back to the twisted woman he calls the love of his life. He assures her she’s nothing like that. Esme arrives and eavesdrops.

The latest GH casting news – Alexis temporarily recast
At The Savoy, Curtis tells Portia that he found his father again and then lost him. She wonders how this is different from his other fights with Marshall. Curtis had actual knowledge this time and his father was upset enough to pack his bags.
Portia asks if he was upset that he unearthed his secret or used Drew to help him do it. He admits that had something to do with it but he doesn’t regret it.
When he explains what his father was hiding, it doesn’t make any sense to either of them.
She wonders why he didn’t come to her about this instead of resorting to subterfuge and keeping her out of it. This concerns her.
She’ll support whatever he wants but worries about losing him.
Portia went through enough secrecy with Taggert and won’t do it again. She needs him to promise he will put their future first.
He assures her that their future means everything to him. Curtis hopes she will trust that he will do what’s best for her and Trina.
Dante joins Willow and Michael on the patio. He tells them that Sam will be late to their double date. He asks his brother about his “dust up” with Sonny and Willow excuses herself.
Dante wants to hear his brother’s side of the story but Michael suggests he stay out of it. He can’t recognize their father anymore and needs to put their relationship behind him.
Willow returns and Dante has to take a work call.
Willow is eager to check on her mom. The cop announces he needs to leave to check on the scene of an accident and takes a rain check on dinner.
Michael is in a funk, but wants to make the best of their night.
Sam barrels into General Hospital to see her mom. She’s informed that she and Carly were attacked by Harmony. Alexis explains that her house guest killed Neil.
There’s nothing physically wrong with her son she’s ready to go.
Down the hall, Carly tells Jordan that Harmony has had some kind of psychotic break and is desperate to keep the secret that Willow is not her daughter. She tells her about finding Neil’s notes.
The commissioner realizes this could have something to do with Brendan showing up dead. Carly runs through an explanation of what happened.
Jordan wonders what more there is to this.
Carly flashes back to confronting Harmony about her relationship with Nina. She doesn’t say anything about this to the cop, she just worries about how devastated Willow will be. Jordan tells her to stay calm and sit tight.
When she’s alone, Carly calls Michael and tells him to come to the emergency room immediately.
Carly finds Alexis, who thanks her for saving her life. Sam has Spinelli trying to track down Harmony through her phone.
Out on the highway, Sasha and Gladys leap out of their car after they have run over Harmony. The paparazzo jumps out of his his vehicle to snap shots.
As Gladys calls for an ambulance, Sasha looks for a pulse.
Once she and Gladys flip Harmony over, they are shocked to see who it is. The photographer continues to work as they revive Harmony.
Once the paramedics arrive, the photographer offers to cut a deal with them on how he will spin this and demands his memory card in return. Sasha refuses and lashes out at him.
Dante arrives as Gladys is pulling the model away from pummelling the paparazzo. Gladys tells Sasha not to say another word and walks off to call Brando. Dante separates everyone and reminds Sasha she has the right to council.
She tells him that Harmony ran in front of her car. The cop tells Gladys to take her to GH to get checked over and come in to make a statement tomorrow. Once they are alone, Gladys asks Sasha what on the memory card has her so upset.
She flashes back to being photographed with drugs and screams that she’s sick of being constantly put on display. Gladys assures her she still has the card and she can have it later.
Harmony is wheeled into the hospital right past a shocked Sam, Alexis, and Carly. Michael and Willow arrive and Jordan informs them that Harmony was struck by a car. They notice the gash on Carly’s face and wonder what is going on.
There’s no explanation. “Who could have done this to my mom?” Willow wonders as Gladys and Sasha arrive.
Meanwhile, once he’s checked over by a nurse, Dante gets the photographer to drop his plan to have Sasha charged. As soon as he’s alone, the paparazzo calls Smoltz and tells him he has a story.
