General Hospital recap for Friday, December 16, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Trina weeps for Rory, Laura wants to know why Spencer is out early, and Valentin and Anna get romantic in a windmill.
We also have Thursday’s GH recap where Rory was rushed to the hospital and flatlined, and Nikolas served Ava divorce papers before she threatened him.
Nikolas bumps into Laura on the launch. He wishes she’d called first. She guesses something is going on. He flashes back to telling Ava that he got Liz pregnant.
His mom says he looks like he’s lost his bestfriend.
He suggests they go some place quiet. When she says she’s eager to check on Spencer, he blurts out she can’t.
She wants to know why he got out early and she’s not buying it was for good behavior.
Guessing that Victor was behind it, she wonders why he bothered. The prince says that his uncle is convinced that having them all living together would improve relations.
She asks what happened. “I betrayed all the people I loved the most,” he says.
Before he can get an explanation, Jordan calls to say Rory is dead.
Laura tells her son not to forget what matters the most and takes off.
At General Hospital, Trina weeps beside Rory. He pulls off his breathing mask and tells her he’s not sorry he told her how he felt, even if it was too soon. He flatlines.
Portia and Finn rush him off and try to revive him.
Joss holds Trina as she cries. She freaks out and Cam tries to calm her down.
Curtis assures her the doctors are doing all they can to save Rory.
Portia returns and informs them that Rory is dead. She holds Trina as she cries.
She wants to see the body and say goodbye.
Cam is in disbelief. Spencer says Rory had a lot to live for.
Joss corners Dante and asks him if this attack was also connected to Trina. He can’t say anything.
Dante leads Trina off to see Rory.
In the operating room, Liz assures Finn that he and Portia did all they could.
He’s miserable.
As she empties Rory’s pockets into an envelope, she finds an earring.
When Trina is brought in, Liz asks her if the earring belongs to her. It’s doesn’t.
Left alone, Trina sobs and tells Rory she was grateful to know him. Now there is no time to say the things she could have.
Jordan admits to Curtis that she’s thinking of all the other cops they’ve lost. She leaves to call Rory’s parents.
Trina comes out and tells her mom she needs to be alone. She speeds away.
Cam asks Joss if they can go somewhere private to talk. She tells him Trina needs her and walks away.
Spencer walks over to Cam and tells him he feels like a jerk for envying Rory. Cam tells him it’s not his fault he loved Trina too.
Trina goes to the chapel and cries. This doesn’t make any sense to her. All Rory wanted to do was help people.
“Why did you take him?” she asks, sitting down.
She lights a candle.
Joss shows up and her friend says that she had the chance to say what Rory wanted her to say and she didn’t.
Joss points out she wasn’t ready and she was just being honest.
Trina wonders if things would have been different if she’d given him what he wanted.
Joss lights a candle and tells her she never forgets Oscar. That keeps him alive somehow. She adds that her mom says you have to keep putting yourself out there to find love.
Dante corners Jordan and hands her the earring. It wasn’t Trina’s. The call the doctors over and Jordan explains there were trace amounts of snake venom in Rory.
They assume Esme is at it again.
“No, that’s impossible!” Liz blurts out. She calls her son over to back her up.
The nurse adds she had the chance to kill her and didn’t.
Laura joins them. When she mentions she just saw Nikolas heading to Wyndemere, Liz immediately takes off.
Jordan orders Dante to take the earring to forensics.
Laura approaches her grandsons and Cam wanders off.
Spencer starts venting about being like his father. Everything he does causes people he cares about pain.
He blames himself for bringing Esme to town. She insists he’s not responsible at all and he’s a better person than he thinks he is.
Laura believes in the young man who put himself at risk for Trina’s sake.
Portia admits to Curtis that she has complicated feelings right now. It’s heartbreaking that her daughter’s boyfriend was murdered. It’s not fair.
Jordan goes to Finn’s office and finds him sitting on the floor. She announces there will have to be a coroner’s report and asks if there’s anything he needs to tell her.
He says she knows all he knows. Looking at one of Violet’s drawings, she urges him to go home to his daughter.
Curtis heads to the chapel and tells Trina her mom is anxious to take her home.
Joss wanders back down the corridor. Dante offers to take her home. Cam asks for a moment alone with her.
Once they are alone, he reminds her she had something important to tell him. She says it can wait and walks off.
Cam tells Spencer he doesn’t know what that was about. Spencer decides that he’s staying in town to be there for Trina and help find Esme.

At the gallery, Ava calls someone and plays them Nikolas’ confession to Esme’s death. She requests they to come to the gallery immediately.
Victor soon arrives as she sips a martini. He doesn’t like being summoned.
The Jerome claims she’s doing him a favor.
After handing him a drink, she tells him his wish is coming true and Nikolas is divorcing her.
She’s surprised he’s not happier about this. He’s surprised when she tells him the prince has been having sex with Liz and she’s carrying his child.
Victor says that if his nephew could jump between women like this, her marriage was doomed before it began.
Ava tells him this divorce can go two ways: smooth or painful. She plays the recorded confession to him and threatens to play it in divorce court.
He doubts that playing it in court would give her much closure, especially since Liz has seen Esme alive. This only raises questions about why Nikolas would lie about a crime he didn’t commit.
It would come out that Ava knocked her off a parapet.
She threatens to make the family look bad and then shows him the settlement her husband offered her. Victor thinks it’s generous but she thinks the pot needs to be sweetened.
The Cassadine agrees to sort something out and walks off.
Bitterly, she toasts to true love and smashes her glass.
Liz heads to the pier. She calls Nikolas and warns that he may be about to walk into a trap.
When Nikolas goes into the tower, he finds Esme has decorated a little tree.
Liz walks in and looks shocked. When she walks out, Nikolas follows. She explains that Rory was killed.
They’ve sacrificed everything because they thought Esme was the killer and now they know she can’t be.
Valentin and Anna are in a secluded windmill in the Netherlands. She points out they haven’t discovered anything yet.
He tells her it could be worse and they cuddle.
After they make out, she tells him they can’t solve everything with romance. They owe it to Martin to find Lucy.
Valentin says they won’t find her tonight. Besides, he found a case of wine and some gourmet ingredients.
“Or we could just go to bed,” she suggests. They make out some more.
Sitting by the fire, she wishes they could pretend the whole world had gone away.
He points out that he didn’t choose their location at random. There is a shady diamond dealer nearby who could have some useful information.
That can wait until tomorrow. They make out again.
After they have sex, they imagine what their lives could be like if they stayed in the windmill.
He says they can come back after they find Lucy and bring her home.
Anna admits the concept of home is lost of her. But wherever she is, when she’s with him, it feels like home.
