General Hospital recap for Friday, February 3, 2023. In today’s GH episode, Ava tells Austin about her new castle and Mason follows her, Linc reminds Brook Lynn of their deal, and Joss confides in Dex.
We also have Thursday’s GH recap where Britt’s loved ones gathered for her memorial and she was given a spot on the wall, Liz confessed to Finn, and Heather told Ryan they need to escape with Esme.
At General Hospital, Finn is stunned when Liz explains that she lied about carrying Nikolas’ baby and miscarrying it. He needs an explanation.
She explains she never cheated on him. He saw her with the prenatal vitamins.
The nurse explains how she got pulled into Nikolas’ situation with Esme.
Liz unpacks how the prince kept Esme locked in a tower. The doctor is disgusted.
She justifies why she went along with Nikolas’ plan. Once she realized that Esme couldn’t be the Hook, she backed out.
It was too late to get out of it by then. And then Esme escaped and now everything she did and gave up was for nothing.
Finn can’t understand her going along with all this. She tells him she still feels guilty about killing his wife and everything else.
He thinks she’s being too hard on herself and Nikolas bears responsibility. When she says the prince has gone too far now, he wonders how that is possible.
She explains that Nikolas promised to protect her but it’s become clear that he can’t if Esme regains her memories.
The nurse says he brought her mom to town to block Esme’s memories. She’s wanted to tell him the truth but didn’t want to make him an accessory.
She’s lost everything but can’t stay silent any longer. She’s determined to turn herself in.
In the chapel, Nikolas tells his son he appreciates him wanting to be part of his siblings’ life when things are so fraught. He apologizes for missing Britt’s memorial.
Spencer feels like he always comes in second and declares that he’s seeking full custody of his child.
Laura is shocked. Father and son bicker. She reminds them they love each other.
That’s not true for Spencer any more. His father taught him all the hard lessons in life as he broke his heart a thousand times. He refuses to let that happen to his sibling.
Nikolas thinks this is about revenge but his son insists it’s just about him being an unfit father. Laura tries talking him out of this but he’s not backing down.
Spencer makes it clear he will do all he can to stop his father from raising the child.
They’re shocked when he says that Nikolas will hand him custody of his own will before this ever gets to court.
Laura tries stopping this but they continue. When Spencer starts quoting his father’s confession, Nikolas tells him this isn’t a game.
The prince guesses that Ava has thrown in with him. His son says he won’t go to Jordan if he relinquishes his parental rights.
“My son is truly gone,” Nikolas says. Laura is baffled. Her grandson tells Nikolas he has a choice to make.
Grabbing him, Nikolas tells his son he is every bit a Cassadine and storms out. His mom trails after him.
Laura stops him by the elevators and warns that if he goes, he is making a big mistake. She urges him to go and speak to his son.
He weeps about Ava taking his son and home. His mom is sorry and tells him to calm down so he can face his son before he makes a decision that he will regret for the rest of his life.
Hugging her, he tells her what a great mother she is. He runs off.
Spencer appears and his grandmother asks him what he’s done.

Joss shows up at Dex’s place and they hug. She tells him about the emotional overload she’s been going through.
They sit and she tells him her niece is perfect. It was really amazing but Willow still isn’t conscious. She hemorrhaged after the c-section and is weak.
She rests on his chest and then tells him about the marrow transplant and how it may be too late.
He’s sure that Willow’s attitude can make a difference. Joss feels powerless and she feels bad for not going to Britt’s memorial.
Pacing, she tells him about her survivor’s guilt and her guilt about what happened with Cam.
Dex realizes he’s messed up her life. Taking his hand, she assures him that’s not true.
He backs away and beats himself up but she insists that her choices were her own. She would have grown apart from Cam even if she’d never met Dex.
Joss doesn’t want to make the same mistakes with him that she made with Cam. Part of her is scared but in a good way. She wants to run to it.
“You scare me too,” he says. They kiss.
At The Savoy, Chase and Blaze get off the stage and Brook Lynn tells them they are amazing. The singer goes off to see her friends and Brook Lynn tells Chase how happy it makes her to see him on stage.
They worry about Michael and Willow. She tells him she has faith Willow will pull through and takes his hand.
Pulling away, he tells her they can’t do this any more. He’ll keep his promise to help take Linc down, but he’s determined to go back to being a cop in the spring.
They can still try and convince Linc to sell her songs back. She assumes that will be the end of them.
Even if he doesn’t go back to the force, music is not his future. She repeats this is about them but he insists it’s not.
She’s sure she’s ruined any chance for them to have a relationship. After she runs off, Blaze returns with some beer and toasts to their gig.
She’s sure their new single will be a smash. He explains that he wants out and is taking steps to make it happen.
She thinks it would be a waste for him to walk away from his talent, but he insists this isn’t for him.
Working with him has reminded her of how much she loves singing and performing. Before that, she was thinking of quitting because of Linc.
Singing with him is the only thing making this bearable. Linc shows up and then wanders off to find Brook Lynn.
Blaze tells Chase that she’s trapped by her contract. When he leaves, she’ll be alone.
Linc finds Brook Lynn by the bar and reminds her of their deal, saying she can be done with him tonight.
They agreed to a non-disclosure agreement in exchange for her song catalogue. He gives her the papers and urges her to sign.
Chase spots Linc touching Brook Lynn’s knee.
Austin bumps into Ava at Kelly’s. she thanks him for saving Willow’s life. He downplays that and she offers to buy him dinner.
As they eat, she tells him about her new house and he says she seems like the lady of the manor already.
He realizes she was divorcing Nikolas when they first met. She tells him how things have changed.
As he eats, he admires how she stands up for herself. They chat about Mason and he assures her it’s nothing to worry about.
She recalls when she used to be more mercenary. Then she became Ava Cassadine. Now that Ava is gone. She did something today to make it clear to her ex where they stand.
Ava tells him she’s used to taking care of herself and intends to keep doing that.
She heads out and Mason comes out from around a corner. He calls someone about Ava and offers to report back.
When he turns, Austin is glaring at him.
Ava arrives at Wyndemere alone. Nikolas shows up.
