General Hospital recap for Friday, December 9, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Joss and Nina bicker about deceit, Finn suspects Liz is pregnant, and Sonny gives Dex a gun.
We also have Thursday’s GH recap where Sonny threatened Heather, Anna pulled a gun on Agent Whitten, and Nikolas refused to let Spencer move in.
Sonny calls Nina to check on her and Donna. She says that the little girl is running circles around her.
When she gets off the phone, Joss shows up and demands to know what she’s doing in Sonny’s penthouse.
She strides in to pick up Donna and Nina explains she and Carly have reached an understanding about her being around the child.
Joss trashes Sonny for dumping his daughter on his girlfriend.
Nina challenged her to wait until Donna is done eating and they start bickering.
Joss claims she’s grateful to her for saving Carly from Sonny. Donna won’t have to watch her mom turn herself inside out for the mobster.
Out of all of Sonny’s many girlfriends, she may be her favorite.
Nina tells her about Willow fainting and how she and Carly managed to put their differences aside and help her. Why can’t Joss give her another chance too?
Joss makes her own decisions.
Nina goes on about how she came to care for someone when everyone else thought it was wrong. Joss thinks about Dex and then blurts out, “I’m nothing like you!”
Nina is confused. Joss starts babbling about how she doesn’t use deceit.
Nina never suggested she does. When she asks how Cam is, Joss flashes back to telling Trina how disconnected they are and then tells Nina it’s none of her business.
When Dex enters Sonny’s office, the boss asks him what’s more important, working for him or spending time with Joss.
Dex insists he never meant for her to be involved. He’s not sure if she saved his life but she did save his freedom.
He’s grateful to her but that’s as far as it goes.
His boss explains that he’s been cleaning up the mess he made breaking Anna out. He’s made sure that no one will be able to identify him.
Dex is apologetic, but his boss says some mistakes are too big to make.
Opening his drawer, he reveals a gun.
He explains when he was his age, he was in debt to Joe Scully and he would have done anything to pay him back. He messed up but someone cleaned up after him.
In their business, you have to have brains because luck only goes so far.
Sonny tells him to figure out what matters.
One of the hardest things he’s had to learn is when to use a gun. He pushes one across the desk to Dex and tells him it’s time to learn.
Once Dex picks up the gun, his boss asks him to come with him to a meeting. Tossing him the keys, he tells him it’s time to go.
Sonny and Dex arrive at the penthouse and notice the tension between Nina and Joss.
Joss abruptly walks off to see Donna and Dex declines the boss’ dinner invitation and exits.
Sonny wonders what happened and Nina tells him Joss clearly has things on her mind.
At The Grill, Rory tells Trina that big emotions don’t come easily to him but he’s meant every single word. He loves her.
She stares across the room at Spencer.
Rory keeps talking and hands her a gift, some perfume called L’amour.
Spencer interrupts. Leaping up, she wonders why he’s free weeks early. He explains that his family pulled some strings to get him out.
As Spencer heads for the door, Victor follows him and reminds him that Cassadines never quit.
Victor gets his nephew to sit down and urges him to enjoy his freedom.
That’s hard for Spencer to do when Rory is telling Trina that he loves her a few feet away.
Rory walks out after getting a call from work so Victor urges Spencer to head over.
Sitting down with Trina, he asks her if they can start over.
She doesn’t think that’s possible. He knows she’s in the middle of something special with Rory and insists he wouldn’t have come if he’d known.
If he was in Rory’s place, he’d be doing the same thing.
Outside, Victor tells Rory that it’s time to call it a day.
Rory heads inside and Spencer steps away from Trina. He has to get going. They kiss and exit.
Spencer sits at the table with Victor and the gift Cyrus gave him. When Spencer leaves for the bathroom, Victor pockets the gift.

In his cell at Spring Ridge, Ryan wonders what Esme has gotten herself into now.
Heather sneaks in. “Hello lover,” she says.
It feels like a lifetime since they were together but some things you just can’t forget. When they were bad together it was very good.
She remembers when they met decades ago and she found him in a secluded cabin. It’s such a shame that he lost his hand. It was talented in so many ways.
Telling him they were soulmates for a brief interlude, his eyes narrow at her.
Rolling around on his cot, she reminds him that they used to be wolves. She’s sure he’s not really paralyzed; he’s just lulling people into a false sense of security.
She’s sure she can still affect him in ways no one can.
“You left me. You broke my heart. I don’t think you’ve ever been hurt as badly but that can be arranged,” he threatens.
She backs off, terrified, but says she knows he would hurt her.
Ryan reminds her she never disliked pain. He began to wonder if he’d imagined their past together. It seemed to good to be true.
After she gets him to smell her, she slaps him for what he did to Franco.
They exchange threats. She assures him she won’t expose him but he better not think about adding her to his list of victims.
She’s sorry for walking out on him. If she’d stuck around, their lives could have been different.
When she says she owes him one, he says she owes him two.
Ryan explains that he’s learned that when she left, she was carrying the child they created.
In his office at General Hospital, Finn explains to Liz that he went to Spoon Island to search for Esme.
He’s convinced he’s on the right track. She’s gets fidgety.
The doctor explains that Nikolas sort of co-operated, but he only really does that when he thinks he’s in charge.
He has the feeling he was hiding something. She puffs up her cheeks.
When he wants to go and speak to Jordan about this, Liz blurts out that he can’t.
She reminds him he’s not a detective and he shouldn’t be going after a killer. He won’t let Esme run around and hurt the people he cares about.
On their way out, he notices the prenatal vitamins she’s been carrying around. They are the same ones he found at Wyndemere.
He wants an explanation. “Are you pregnant?” he asks.
