General Hospital recap for Tuesday, May 31, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Sam grills Spinelli about his desires, Ava and Laura talk about her relationship with Nikolas, and Terry encourages Chet to move away.
We also have Friday’s GH recap where Scott trashed Michael on the stand and Willow confronted Nina.
Britt and Brad arrive at the pool for the Society Setups shindig. She thinks it’s tacky, he thinks its classy. The doctor thinks a pool party without swimming is pointless and asks him to keep her glass filled.
Across the room, Spinelli tries giving a lady his card but she escapes. Austin pops up and tells Spinelli the event looks more like a meat market than a fundraiser. He adds Maxie was supposed to come with him but is stuck at work.
Brook Lynn and Drew chat at a table about how interesting the party should be. Chase arrives and looks at her. She and Drew briefly talk about ELQ and she encourages him to mingle.
Drew wanders over to Britt and chats with her about her matchmaking service. She wonders what she is doing there. She’s hopeless at dating and wants to go to sleep.
He encourages her to give things a chance. If she packs it in now, she may never know what she missed. She agrees to give it half an hour.
Sam arrives and admires Spinelli’s shirt. She assumes he is looking for a new relationship. He admits his judgement isn’t great and wants someone to vet his choices. She senses there is more.
He tries avoiding an answer but she presses.
Dante asks his former partner about his status with Brook Lynn. Chase doesn’t know and asks the cop to be his emissary.
Chase approaches Austin and they discuss Brook Lynn.
Brook Lynn greets Dante and asks him to deal with Linc. He doesn’t want to hear about it and turns the topic to Chase. He warns that he may be a patient guy, but she’s pushing him too far and he might not come back.
Brook Lynn eventually meets Chase alone. They both wonder how annoyed they are with each other.

GH comings and goings – Chet and Brando out
Outside the courtroom, Carly tries assuring Michael that no one will accept the way Scott characterized him. Michael is more worried that Wiley will never forgive any of them when he grows up.
His mom tells him that things won’t be the same with Wiley as they are with his father.
Inside, Willow grabs Nina by the arm and orders her to give up the pretense that she only wants what’s best for Wiley. Getting increasingly distraught, Willow rails at her about Nelle.
She tells Nina that Nelle inherited her bad nature just as Nina did from her mother. Michael and Carly arrive to watch. She smirks. Nina says, “Too bad Harmony’s not here to tell you who or what your mother was.”
Michael has to hold Willow back from pummeling Nina. They continue attacking her as Willow accuses her of exploiting her generosity and telling her she’s not worthy of Wiley.
Nina smugly tells her it’s not her decision to make. Willow says she’ll lay down her life before she lets her to have a role in his life. Nina squints. Willow asks her to give Wiley a new lineage and accuses her of being heartless when she refuses.
Carly tells Willow to stay strong and takes off. She apologizes to Michael but he’s proud of her. Scott and Diane return from the judge’s chambers.
He tells Nina that the judge flayed him. The judge comes out and the hearing resumes. Diane calls Willow to the stand.
Willow tells the court that Nina does not have Wiley’s best interests at heart. She doesn’t think sharing DNA entitles you to a familial relationship. She trashes Nina’s choices and behavior.
When it is Scott’s turn to cross-examine, Nina tells him he’s done enough. The arguments conclude. The judge says she will issue her ruling within the hour.
Carly goes to General Hospital and picks up the DNA test results.
Laura visits the shooting range and finds Ava practicing. Ava claims she is just blowing off steam. The mayor wonders who has been steaming her up. “Your son,” she says.
The prince knows they need time alone to make their marriage work but he’s not helping. She’d like to blame their house guests, but she can’t trust her husband.
After they talk some shots, Ava complains about how oblivious Nikolas is. Laura tells her she has put in a good word for Avery at the schools she wants to send her to. That was her son’s suggestion. Ava’s impressed.
Laura tells her that where there’s love there is hope and encourages her to give Nikolas more time to work on their marriage. Ava doesn’t think he’s working on it at all.
Laura knows her son is proud and that doesn’t lead to compromise. She tells her that relationships have a lot of give and take. Sometimes you have to make time to focus on each other. That’s what Ava wants but her husband is making her wait indefinitely.
She says that Nikolas has grown a lot with her and he could live his best life with her. That’s what Ava wanted to. The mayor tells her that fighting for happiness is worthwhile.
At Wyndemere, Esme says it looks like Nikolas is having a bad day. She complains about Spencer walking out on her again, pours a drink, takes a gulp and hands it to him.
They discuss his fight with his wife. She blames herself for that but he assures her it’s not her fault. Esme tells him his son keeps spending time with Trina. He urges her to pick her battles.
“The fighting is over and so is my relationship with your son,” she says. He suggests she ride it out. She wonders if she should give up and asks if he is giving up on his marriage.
She thinks they both deserve someone who will put them first. He doesn’t want to discuss his marriage and offers to get the maids to help her pack.
When she shivers and complains about not knowing where she is going, he puts his jacket on her. Looking in his eyes, she tells him how proud she’s been to be associated with his family.
She adds that Spencer doesn’t want to make love to her anymore. They aren’t the only ones in the house sleeping apart. Esme tells him he’s a powerful, attractive man in his prime and asks what he wants.
He wants respect, peace and faith. She thinks the woman in his life should give him everything he needs. She would. Esme just wants to belong. He asks her to stay.
“I want you. Here. Now,” he says. She asks him to prove it. They kiss.
At General Hospital, Chet asks Terry if he should stick around Port Charles to see where things could go between them. The doctor likes him a lot but he shouldn’t turn down a job offer for her.
He hates ending things before they had a chance to begin. Sitting down, they talk about his job. He’s excited. She’s not opposed to a long-distance relationship but is sure he will be very busy.
Terry tells him Amy only wants what’s best for him and so does she. If she doesn’t have a date next Valentine’s, he’ll be her first call.
