General Hospital recap for Wednesday, March 9, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Dante puts his plan in motion, Ava details her plan to Nikolas, and Esme has a scuffle with Ryan — who turns out to be her father!
We also have Monday’s GH recap where Sam had a plan to trap Victor, as Nicholas and Spencer’s feud thawed.
Dante finishes a call with Anna. Peter’s belongings have already been delivered. It’s too late. Drew realizes Britt’s his executor. On some level, Drew thinks he respected her. Dante thinks he got a kick out of forcing her to deal with whatever he left behind.
Sam doesn’t think Britt would safeguard Peter’s effects. Sam is concerned that he’ll be at risk if they follow through with this. Drew wants to take Victor down and is all in.
Dante makes a call and learns Britt already has his belongings. They run off to find her.
At Metro Court, Britt thins its typical of Peter to appoint her his executor. Maxie asks if he can send the box back. “We call the bomb squad,” she says. Later, they say nothing is wrong with the package. Britt says there’s a dumpster in the alley.
She moves to take it there but Maxie stops her. They head to the terrace to open the box.
At the bar, Brando’s mama, Gladys, calls him and asks why he isn’t returning her calls. She drinks as she asks him to text at least to let her know they’re alright. Lucy stops by. She talks Gladys down, reminding her that the two need time to heal. They talk business.
Lucy says when they take Deception live, she’ll get a lot of stock. Gladys says she knew that Sasha had potential. Lucy scoffs at that. They admit they worry she went back to work too soon but she seems fine.
As Brando drives through Niagara Falls, he and Sasha are excited that they’re going to get married right now. The GPS goes out and they’re lost. They haven’t passed a gas station for miles, which makes Sasha really worried they’re lost. She quickly wonders if he doesn’t want to marry her.
He assures her he wants to marry her more than ever. They’re also not lost. She opens her window. They’re near a river and can hear wedding bells. The bells are ringing for another couple. “Soon they’ll be ringing for us and for Liam,” she says. Gladys calls and Sasha answers.
Gladys apologizes for interrupting but she hasn’t heard from Brando and reveals her concern. Sasha says they’ve spotty coverage and she’s breaking up. They’ll talk when they return. She disconnects and Gladys whines to Lucy. She thinks she almost got married there.
Gladys realizes that’s what they’re doing. She melts down at how they’re rushing into everything. It’s a mistake and she wants to know how to stop it. Lucy tells her to stay out of it but Gladys is on a mission. She takes off.
Meanwhile, back in the car, Brando can see how things will go down once his mom learns they eloped. She’ll get over it. In a few years! He tells her to look in the glove compartment. She does so and finds rings, excited that he thought of everything. He admits they’re spare engine parts.
They’ll do until he takes her to a jewellery store. She looks at him amazed and then he tells her he’s kidding. He ran out to a nearby jeweller to buy them. They kiss and the ‘check engine’ light comes on. He pulls over and checks under the hood. They need a tow but it could take hours. Sasha has a meltdown, thinking it’s a sign. Maybe they were never meant to have a happy ending. Brando says they’ve coffee and a blanket. They’ll find a way to keep warm. They kiss and the tow truck turns up.

Victor, tries to get Ava and Nik to toast to a new beginning to the Cassadine clan. He says he agreed to give Laura a pass. Ava finds it big of her. He asks her to consider it a wedding present. She thinks the real gift would be to get everyone together but she can’t be certain Spencer will accept an invitation.
Victor tells them that Esme holds great sway with Spencer. Nikolas is concerned about inviting Esme, considering she torched the car. Victor thinks they should move on from it. He clasps Nikolas’ arm, assuring that he won’t regret it. He goes and Nikolas wonders what happened to their quiet evening.
Ava admits her plan to get Victor to trust them so when he does show his hand, they’ll be ready. They snuggle and Nikolas promises nobody will come between them. They kiss.
At Spring Ridge, an orderly rolls Ryan into his room, where he talks about how hot he is for the new intern. Esme shows up and he leaves. Esme lets herself in Ryan’s room and lectures him for scolding her and almost blowing the whole thing, his months of silence.
He claims he was thinking about how she failed him. She had one job, to break up Nikolas and Ava. She’s lost sight of the prize. Esme did everything to help Spence terrorize her.
It’s not her fault that Ava’s love for Nik is stronger than what she did. Ryan denies that’s true. Esme vows that her loyalty is always to him. “So you say.” Ryan curses. Esme gets on her knees and asks, “Let me prove it to you, Daddy. I know you like it when I call you that.”
Ryan admits he does. He thinks soon enough, Ava will find a worm in the apple, though currently, she thinks she’s got it good with Nikolas. Ryan disapproves of her shallow co-ed shenanigans. He’s not sure he can trust her.
She threatens to tell Kevin that he can talk and has been able to for months. Ryan grabs her and pulls her to her knees, making her yelp. He tells her she’s not going anywhere. She struggles and tells him to let her go. He’s thrilled that she has a backbone.
She plans on making him proud and he reminds her he calls the shot. “Yes sir. You’re the boss,” she says. She’ll do anything to regain his trust. He tells her they’re back at square one with Ava. He tells her to make herself more likeable to Ava and Spencer. He calls Ava family and says, “What’s mine is yours, my beautiful, gifted daughter.” Esme grins.
Dante and Sam rush to Britt and Maxie’s side at Metro Court and stop Britt from opening the package, while inside, Drew runs into Victor. He puts the man on notice for stealing two years of his life. Victor asks if he’s threatening but Drew clarifies. He promises.
He tells the man to stay clear of him or he’ll make him pay. He leaves and Victor heads outside. Maxie and Britt start arguing over whether they should open the box and they each grab and end.
The box falls to the ground and Victor looks shocked as the Tarot card is seen. He helps pick up the belongings and steals the card. Britt and Maxie wander off and talk about being unsure about what happened with Victor. Either way, they’re in.
