General Hospital recap for Tuesday, October 4, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Valentin offers Michael a deal, Drew convinces Carly not to blame herself, and Ava taunts Ryan.
We also have Thursday’s GH recap where Diane survived, Cyrus saved Spencer, and Joss went searching for Dex.
Drew finds Carly at her old high school. She never intended to come back but needed to see the spot where her life changed in an instant.
She used to be a cheerleader. She and Reese were bestfriends and made the varsity squad. Reese gave her access to a life she wouldn’t have been able to touch.
One afternoon after practice, she realized the other girls had given up on her and she yelled she hoped they crashed and burned. Reese died in a car accident a few seconds later.
He explains she didn’t cause the accident. She knows but she contributed to her friend being upset enough to crash.
Reese’s father took advantage of her, and she was blindsided. Drew says what he did was reprehensible, and he would kill any man who seduced a 16-year-old. He asks why she is still blaming herself.
She tells him how much she liked him paying attention to her, even if she knew it was wrong. She should have avoided it, but she didn’t want to give up the access that Reese and her family gave her.
Reese caught them in bed together and that broke something in her. She was too upset to be driving.
Drew is sure that Payton knew what was going on and blamed her because it was easier. He repeats that none of this was her fault. It’s time for her to let go of the guilt.
Carly sobs and says what happened to her friend was a terrible accident but it wasn’t her fault. Now it’s over.
Ava stops by Spring Ridge to see Ryan. She admits she still thinks he could be faking his paralysis. When she fails to make him blink, she pulls up a chair and tells him about the hook attack.
She remembers he used a hook on one of his victims. As she gives him a recap of all the attacks, he thinks about how much he’d like to gut her with a hook.
Getting in his face, she continues to taunt him. When she mentions Esme, his eyes move.
She assumes that Esme saw him as some kind of kindred spirit. Ava assumes Esme was blackmailing Nikolas.
As she keeps pushing, Ryan keeps thinking about how his daughter would never abandon him. When Ava hints no one will ever see Esme again, his hand clenches into a fist.

Kelly Thiebaud exits and the latest GH comings and goings
Nikolas meets Victor outside Kelly’s and is ordered to divorce Ava immediately. The prince says no.
His uncle tells him to get on with it. He knows that they can’t testify against each other but that doesn’t matter anymore. Victor makes it clear he has no choice in this.
“I won’t be intimidated,” Nikolas says. His uncle thinks Ava is too much for him to handle. It’s time for him to open his eyes.
Nikolas insists he’s found a way to convince her he loves her. He’s not giving away any details. Valentin shows up. Nikolas tells them both to go to hell.
Valentin hands his father the confession that Nikolas wrote taking responsibility for Esme’s death. Victor demands to know why this even exists.
Nikolas wrote the fake confession to protect his wife. His uncle won’t have him putting the family in danger like this.
Valentin points out that Nikolas isn’t necessary. They can get rid of him and give his fortune to Spencer.
“Love is a luxury. Survival is essential,” Victor says. Nikolas agrees to the divorce.
Wearing a hood, Esme eavesdrops on this from around the corner.
At General Hospital, TJ explains that Diane is conscious and off the ventilator. Robert is the first person to go in and question her. She says she scared the life out of everyone.
Sitting down, he asks what she remembers. The lawyer recalls being at the garage but it gets a little hazy after that.
Meanwhile, Dante and his father talk about justice and Diane. The cop knows it looks like Sonny is the common denominator in these crimes and he must want to make the guilty party pay, but he asks him to do it.
Sonny and Dante go in to see Diane. She’s still trying to piece together what happened. It was dark and the next thing she can remember is seeing Dex when she came to for a second.
As she pieces it together, she remembers a woman attacking her. The details are slight. They keep probing and she recalls the woman wore jangling bracelets.
TJ interrupts and asks them to clear out. Diane says she feels like she knows the woman from somewhere but can’t place them.
The doctor tells her to be patient and the memory will come back in time. That won’t work for her.
Dante and Robert realize that the attacker being a woman changes everything. The whole thing could be random.
Joss bumps into Carver at Pozzulo’s. He claims to be the new chef and stops her from searching the place. She tells him Sonny won’t be happy he’s giving her a hard and he’ll regret it.
Valentin meets with Michael at the Metro Court. He suggests he leave Aurora and come back to ELQ. Michael didn’t see this coming and wonders why he would risk alienating Ned.
The Cassadine says he can handle Ned. If he comes back, they will both have time and resources to devote to other projects.
Joss interrupts and Valentin clears off. She tells her brother that she thinks Sonny has Dex in the restaurant. They need to rescue him before he’s killed.
In the freezer at Pozzulo’s, Dex tries singing to stay awake. Carver comes in with his knives. Dex insists he’s innocent. Carver says Sonny isn’t convinced.
Heading back to the dining area, Carver places a call to Sonny but only gets his answering service. Michael and Joss stomp in and get threatening.
Carver caves and lets Joss go into the freezer. She cuts Dex loose but Carver won’t let them leave without Sonny’s permission.
Sonny arrives and the kids tell him what they found in the freezer.
