SoapsSpoilers’ General Hospital recap for the Wednesday, December 21, 2021 episode. Today, it’s Christmas in Port Charles and everyone celebrates with Maxie able to see Bailey, Alexis and Shawn being grateful to be home at the holidays, and Drew spending time with Scout. We also have Tuesday’s GH recap where Laura lit the town tree, Brook Lynn was visited by Valentin and Anna and Finn discussed their love lives.
Marshall arrives at GH. Epiphany introduces herself. They talk about traditions of playing for the children at Christmas. The volunteers are on the fifth floor, she tells him. Since she’s singing, she heads there with him. Nearby, Curtis admires Portia’s beauty. She’s glad he’s in a good mood. It must help that he and Drew will work together to unravel the mystery of his dad. She reveals that Marshall appeared at her table when she was with Trina at Metro Court.
Curtis isn’t happy to hear about that. They talk about Trina forgiving her father but Curtis says that won’t happen with him and his father. They watch Epiphany walk by with Marshall. Epiphany introduces Stefan who plays clarinet to Marshall and Portia tells Curtis that the hospital does this yearly. He knows but he didn’t know his dad played the clarinet.
Marshall asks Epiphany to sing for the kids while he plays. She agrees to it finally, and sings Oh Christmas Tree, while he plays. Curtis takes off with Portia. Meanwhile, Deanna tells Brando and Sasha that he can take her home. Sasha agrees to go home with him but just for tonight. Meanwhile, Gladys goes to her car and stares at the baby seat. She removes it in anger and throws it into the trunk before slamming the door and shaking her head. Sasha and Brando get into the car and Gladys tells them they’ve a stop to make before home.
At the Quartermaine manse, Monica tells Drew she’s got some vodka for Christmas. She smiles and Drew tells her she doesn’t have to pretend she’s not hurting about missing Jason. Monica misses him so much but she’s grateful for the family. Brook Lynn and Chase arrive with Bailey. Drew says his favorite part of Christmas was helping Scout put the star on the tree. In the other room, Brook Lynn stares at Chase’s butt when he bends over. She flashes to seeing him naked in the steam room and gets flustered and takes off.
At Alexis’, family gathers for Christmas. The kids open gifts and Sam gives Scout a gift from Molly and TJ and removes the tambourine from her hands that’s annoying her. Scout opens an accordion. Everyone laughs and Sam asks what she was thinking. Alexis got bongos for her. Shaun and Alexis are glad to be home for Christmas this year. She’s glad not to be drunk and he’s happy he’s out of prison. The kids play music and Sam sends them into the kitchen for cookies. Alexis wonders if there will be a problem with Dante and Drew being around each other and Sam.
Kristina asks if it’ll be weird since she was with them both and Sam screws up her face and calls them immature. She assures it’s fine. Later, Shawn tells everyone that he’s the new publisher of The Invader. He’s the administrator of the non-profit that owns it, he admits. They tell him he’s bought a boat load of problems since it exposes people. He plans on using it as a platform to advocate for the grater good. Privately, the girls wonder if Alexis is okay with this since Shawn has something going on and she doesn’t yet. They hug their mom and tell her that her job is being their mother.
Later, Alexis tells the family she’s fine with them drinking around her. It’s the real world and she needs to get used to it. She ask that they celebrate Shawn and their Christmas. They drink to Shawn and he drinks to her, and says he would not be with her or TJ without her.

At home, Obrecht tells Nina this could be her last chance to be with her grandson at Christmas, knowing there’s a chance she could wind up in prison. Nina’s sure that Carly will never let her see Wiley again. Obrecht asks what changed. Nina thinks about Willow knowing her secret about loving Sonny. She can’t ask Willow for more favors. She has done enough for her.
Obrecht doesn’t see it that way and plans on giving Willow apiece of her mind. Nina stops her by grabbing her pone and Maxie becomes upset. Nina apologizes but she asks Liesl to let it go. Liesl flashes to telling Scott that Nina and Sonny fell in love. He arrives and tells them he was working on Nina’s preliminary hearing. Liesl shoves him outside, as she tells the women she needs time alone with him.
He wants to go home and play but she says that can wait. Someone knows Sonny and Nina were in love in Nixon Falls. She wants him to put Willow on the stand. He’s not sure she’ll tell the truth.
Inside, Maxie admits she’s rooting for Nina to get off. Maxie appreciates that she let Peter get away when he was in Nixon Falls. Maxie says he was threatening James. She had no choice.
At home, Carly plays with the kids. Michael opens a card from Nina. Carly’s unimpressed that there’s a gift, too. Carly and Joss hope Sasha and Brando are coming later for Christmas. Dante and Sonny talk by the door about last year’s Christmas. It wasn’t a good time for any of them, Sonny says.
Dante learned he secretly paid for his and Lulu’s house and wanted to thank him. The men embrace. Rocco and Dante leave. Sonny appears and tells the women that Sasha and Brando will be there. Willow and Joss tell him that Nina dropped off a gift for Wiley with the guard. Carly and Michael chat nearby about how happy they are to be together for Christmas and all heads turn as Brando, Gladys and Brando arrive.
Gladys takes off to get something from the car and Carly hugs Sasha, glad she’s there. Michael and Willow appear for hugs and Brando goes to Sonny, thankful for having him. “We’re all in this together,” he says. Sonny knows that Liam’s with his Uncle Mike. Brando is overcome with emotion. Back at the door, Willow’s sorry about Liam. Sasha knows that she understands. Willow promise she’ll be able to live with the pain.
Gladys returns with gifts and Sasha tanks her for opening her house. Gladys tells Sonny she hijacked them just like he asked her to. Brando’s grateful. Seeing all of their faces, he knows this is where they need to be. Sasha nods. Carly and Sonny tell her she’s part of the family. She smiles and cries as she embraces Carly. Joss takes Willow aside. She’s glad she’s a part of her family. She gives her a card, glad to have another sister. Willow’s happy. She’s never had a sister and now she knows what she’s been missing. They hug.
Brando is grateful to Sonny and Michael for understanding their loss. Sonny says there’s no limit on how many they can love and Michael thinks grief should be shared.
It can be alleviated in some small way. Brando thanks him and heads outside to think. Sasha follows with a blanket and hugs him. She knows it’s rough. He says it’s better with her there. He tells her they created Liam by accident and could have gone their separate ways. Now that he’s gone, Brando doesn’t want to lose her. He loves her with everything inside him. She smiles. Liam left them a legacy. He left them each other. She loves him too. They kiss. Inside, Willow flashes to Nina’s secret and she tells Michael she loves him. They kiss, while inside, everyone eats cake.
At the Q’s Drew talks about how great of a person Jason was to Danny. He invites Danny to a game and Rocco and Dante overhear as they walk in. Rocco snipes that Danny’s going with them. Dante tells the kid that they can all go together. They take their presents into the other room, where Chase asks Brook Lynn if he offended her somehow. She denies it. She claims she’s just in a bad mood.
Back by the door, Scout gives Drew a hot pink scarf that she picked out herself. He puts it on. He loves it. The kids go get cake and check out their presents. Later, Scout hugs her dad as Monica shows Jason on his motorbike to Danny. He can’t wait to ride it when he’s older.
Brook Lynn, Bailey and Chase walk by Obrect and Scotty kissing in the hall. Brook Lynn says, “Oh please. Not where innocent children will see.” They head inside and Maxie sees Bailey. She grins widely and holds the baby as everyone smiles. Nina flashes to kissing Sonny.
