General Hospital recap for Friday, July 1, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Brook Lynn turns to Sonny for help, Olivia wants to buy Carly’s half of the Metro Court, and Chase vents to his father and brother.
We also have Thursday’s GH recap where Britt agreed to help Spencer find Esme’s parents and an upset Sasha got a call from her dealer.
Scott meets with Ava on the patio with the quickie divorce settlement. He tells her she’s turned a tidy profit on a three year marriage. She claims it is just a gesture.
Nikolas joins them and says that their former marriage based on distrust will be a thing of the past and the only thing that will remain will be their love. Esme watches them from across the patio, flashing back to having sex with Nikolas.
She rushes over when she hears the word divorce. “But Mr. Cassadine, I thought you weren’t going to tell her!” she blurts. Nikolas explains they are still together. Ava asks what he wasn’t going to tell her.
Esme fumbles through an explanation and asks for a moment alone with him. She claims they need to discuss a surprise for Spencer.
When she lures him away, she asks if they can borrow his convertible. The truth is she pulled him away because she needs his help. Kevin has barred her from Spring Ridge and she’s hoping he can reinstate her internship.
He’s not sure he can help. Kevin is married to his mom and this could go badly. She assumes this is punishment for her sleeping with her boyfriend’s dad. He tells her they should have never been together but assures her she’s not being punished and promises to help her get her internship back.
Meanwhile, Ava prods Scott to get some dirt on Esme. He warns that she’s very crafty. They get back to bickering about the divorce. She’s on edge because of her concerns about Trina. And she can’t help feeling that this divorce is tempting fate.
Nikolas returns. He’s eager to sign the papers, even without his lawyer present. She tells him they don’t need to rush through this divorce. Scott is getting annoyed and needs to get to court. Ava refuses to sign the papers.
Spencer strolls into Kelly’s and tells Cam that he has found out who Esme’s biological mother is. Victor has found her. Spencer has to explain why this is relevant. He’s sure that it will be enough to prompt a confession they can use.
Cam isn’t thrilled that Victor has been pulled into this. His friend explains that her mom lives in Portugal now and they got a DNA sample and had it tested. He’s sure they can trade this information for the confession they need.
As he eats a muffin, he admits this is all made up. He only hopes Esme falls for it as easily as Cam did. “You’re an ass!” Cam says. Spencer needed to test his story.
He asks him get DNA samples from Joss and Carly so they can run a test and get a legitimate result to fake it.
Gregory is with Finn on the patio. They discuss Liz and Finn admits it’s hard to stay away. Chase joins them and explains that his suspension has been extended. There has been a civilian complaint against him since he punched Linc in the face.
His father wonders if that was worth getting kicked off the force. It’s taken Chase years to rebuild his career since what happened with Nelle. He insists that the things he’s done for Brook Lynn are nothing like what happened back then.
His father is impressed by how much he cares about her. They talk about how passionate Chase is and how he likes to stand up for the little guy. He’s suspended without pay and has to find a temporary job. Gregory encourages him to fight for the job he loves.
Trina joins Joss by the pool. They spot Carly and wonder what has her distracted. Olivia chases her down and tells her how sorry she is. She leads her away. The teens assume that was bad news.
They recall the bar fight and Trina explains that Curtis has taken over the investigation. She swears that she won’t let Esme get away with this and explains how Rory put her on notice last night.
For a minute she worried that Rory was into Esme. Joss is sure he’s way too into her for that to happen.
Over at the bar, Olivia tells Carly how badly she feels. She worries that Carly could lose her part in it and doesn’t want to lose the spirit they have invested in the place. “I’m buying your half of the hotel,” she decides.
When Carly learns she’d have to sort this out with Ned since she doesn’t have the liquidity, she shuts it down. She refuses to take any money from Ned after what he did to Michael. Olivia suggests she ask Sonny.

Maxie arrives at the Deception office where Lucy is manic on the phone. When she gets off the line, she tells Maxie that the on-air talent will be wearing their lipstick. They go live on TV in two hours and Sasha isn’t even there.
Maxie calls her and reminds her they are in a rush.
Before Sasha can leave Perks, the paparazzo shows up with some pills in exchange for backstage access. She doesn’t recognize the pills. He assures her they are great and she looks like she needs a boost.
Sasha joins Maxie and Lucy at Deception. They tells her the Home & Heart show host has altered the order of the presentation and hand her a stack on the changes. Lucy starts telling Sasha that she is the woman all their customers want to be.
They go on about it until she screams. She apologizes and claims she just needs a minute to deal with all the last minute changes. Her friends give her a pep talk. They have a group hug. Sasha says she’ll catch up with them downstairs and then pops some pills.
Brook Lynn meets with Sonny in the park. He assumes she wants something. She asks him to take care of Linc, who has been selling her songs as dog food jingles. The bigger problem is that Chase has gotten in trouble for attacking Linc.
She can’t let the cop lose his job and asks the mobster to have a “talk” with her old producer. He can’t do that. Word would get out he stepped in and it would make Chase look like a dirty cop.
Sonny is sure that Chase can get another job. A lot of cops go into security. When he tells her he can’t make Linc “sing like a canary,” she gets an idea and hugs him.
Brook Lynn hurries to the patio to find Chase. She catches him as soon as his brother and father are filing out.
Cam and Spencer arrive. Cam tells him to create a diversion while he grabs the samples. When he joins Trina and Joss, they notice he seems off. As Spencer heads off to create a distraction, he bumps into Esme.
