General Hospital recap for Friday, July 22, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Spinelli makes a confession to Maxie, Selina offers Curtis her help, and Linc offers Chase a deal.
We also have Wednesday’s GH recap where Britt and Cody’s date was a bust, Linc was interested in Chase, and Sonny offered to take care of Felty.
Britt walks out of the stable and accuses Cody of using cliches to try and get her between the sheets. He laughs and says she’s way off. He was just trying to impress her.
The doctor declares this dead date and tells him he’s a waste of her time. When he calls her a nag, she dumps wine on his head and walks off.
After she’s gone, he talks to the horses and complains about being called a “counterfeit casanova,” even though it’s accurate.
On the Haunted Star, Linc gives Chase compliments, but he isn’t taking them. He suggests they were fated to start a joint venture. The rewards for being a star are great and Chase could be a star with the right management.
“Then it’s a good thing he has me,” Brook Lynn chimes in and insists any business talk has to go through her. Chase says they have nothing in running and acts like he’s not happy with their arrangement. Linc makes a pitch about why he would be a better match.
Once Linc is gone, they tell each other how well that worked.
Chase refuses to sign with him. “Never say never,” Linc says. Brook Lynn calls him a parasite. She and Linc make competing pitches. Linc suggests he give them thirty days to come up with package offers. Chase agrees. Brook Lynn smiles at him.
At their table, Spinelli admits to Maxie that there is no dirt on Austin… but he doesn’t think she has any future with him. She wonders why he is being so squirrely. She badgers him about this until he confesses that he’s behind Society Set-Ups.
Zelda is just a figurehead for the company. He doesn’t match the profiles himself but designed an algorithm to do it. He applied it to her and Austin and it came out badly. She wonders if he thinks people wouldn’t use the service if they knew he was behind it.
If she were single, she would trust him with her heart.
On deck, some dude tells Austin his time is up and he has to finish the job for his boss on his way back to Pautauk. His gambit in Port Charles has failed and it’s time for him to return to the fold. Britt walks by and squints at them.
Britt interrupts and asks if he’s seen Brad around. The dude walks off. Austin claims he doesn’t know him and was just lecturing him about smoking. She starts venting about men not being open and honest with her.
He tells her she’s beautiful and impressive. That just stresses some people out. If she doesn’t want to date anyone, she doesn’t need to. Britt tells him to tell her mother. He laughs and says she only needs to answer to herself.
Britt and Austin head inside and interrupt Maxie and Spinelli. Britt complains about her latest Society Set-Ups date. Spinelli begins defending it, but she doesn’t want to waste her time with it and plans to sue them out of business.
Maxie and Spinelli try to talk her out of this.

At home, Curtis and Marshall explain to Portia that the bartender has disappeared and left his stuff behind. Curtis has bribed the night clerk to let him in to search his apartment. Portia worries they won’t find anything, so Curtis hugs her.
Sniffling, she knows he’s doing all he can. Marshall tells her she’s just being a parent and the worrying will never stop. Curtis promises he will always protect Trina as though she were his own. He asks his father to stay and keep Portia company.
When Curtis walks out, he gets a text and doesn’t look thrilled.
Back inside, Portia starts pacing so Marshall assures her that his son must have been a great PI. If there’s anything to find, he will find it. They go over Trina’s case and everything she has going for her. She’s worried about the emotional toll it will take on her.
“Why wouldn’t she be?” he asks. He hasn’t sensed any struggling in Trina. They talk about her potentially burying her emotions. He says that if she collapses, they’ll put her back together. They hold hands.
He knows Curtis is worried that his schizophrenia could be passed down. She’s sure they would know by now if he was affected. Marshall is happy that he can now answer questions about himself and be seen.
They go back to worrying about Trina. Marshall is sure the nightmare could be over by tomorrow.
Curtis meets with Selina in the back of her car. He’s uncomfortable as she talks about his family. She says what is happening to them is terrible and makes it clear she wants to help.
She can point him in the direction of the bartender he’s looking for. She owns the bar he worked in. Curtis wonders what’s in this for her and tries turning her down. Selina reminds him he doesn’t have time to chase down leads.
In some dump, Esme tells the bartender that she has some financial issues tying up his money. He’s getting sick of waiting around. Plenty of people are looking for him and he could cut a deal. She knows this is a threat.
She apologizes for acting like a spoiled little rich girl and tells him she knows he graduated at the top of his class in law school. He fills her in on Marshall and Curtis questioning him. Esme says that whole family has it in for her.
He’s not convinced she’s innocent and doesn’t want to be part of her problems. Sitting down with him, she suggests they enjoy themselves while they are hiding out. Esme asks for a drink.
After they toast, they chat about her boyfriend splitting up with her. She takes her drink in one shot and declares she’s done with boys. They kiss and he asks her into his room. She wants a top up first.
As she runs off to get another drink, she wipes her mouth and smiles deviously. He returns and kisses her. She gets him to take another shot. It’s obvious that she used the Tramadol to drug him. He starts blinking and she tells him people constantly underestimate her.
After he collapses, Curtis starts banging on the door.
