In the Wednesday, June 23, 2021, full episode recap of Days of our Lives, Julie loves the donuts Allie and Chanel make, sanctioning their business, Roman and Abe discuss Paulina, and Paulina overshares. In case you missed out, on Tuesday’s Days of our Lives episode, Brady learned the truth about Nicole and Xander.
Roman sees Abe saunter into the pub and asks what’s got him so happy. Abe kissed Paulina. Roman says that’s good. “Now you’ve got to build on that.” Abe reveals that’s not all that happened. “We had a nightcap.” Roman asks, “A nightcap or a nightcap?” Abe admits, “The latter.” Roman tells him that a lesser man than him would ask for details. Abe’s not giving. He admits there were sparks between them from the beginning. He’s not sure what Lani would think. Roman doesn’t think it’s her business but Abe reminds her it’s Lani’s aunt and her mama’s sister. Roman asks for one detail about their night and Abe says, “Marabou.” (A Swedish chocolate.)
Paulina stops by Lani’s to see the babies. She fawns over the children and she calls Carver handsome. They agree he’ll be a heartbreaker and respectful. “Speaking of handsome Carvers, I slept with your father last night,” Paulina confesses. Lani asks why. “He’s a very handsome, powerful man.” Lani asks why she’s telling her. Auntie P doesn’t want to make her uncomfortable. Lani means the world to her. If she’s not okay with her being with her dad, she vows it’ll never happen again. Lani says her parents haven’t been together for ages and he’s been single for a while. “How long exactly,” Paulina asks. “Long enough.” Lani loves her dad and they’re both her favorite people so who is she to stand in the way. Paulina’s thrilled. They hug. Abe turns up and tries to tell her about Paulina but can’t get the words out. Paulina appears and says it’s okay. “I just told your daughter we made love.” Lani tells her dad she’s okay with it. She loves them both and if she makes him happy it’s good enough for her. Abe’s thankful. They flirt and Lani looks away. They make a dinner date and Paulina goes.

At Nicole’s, Allie and Chanel give Julie one of Alice’s donuts to sample that Allie made. Julie takes a few discerning bites and tells the girls they’re delicious, as good as Alice’s. The secret ingredient is love and thinks it’s obvious they’ve put a lot of love into them. Julie better go or she’ll eat the rest and lick the platter clean. “Thank you for keeping Alice Horton’s legacy alive,” Julie says, tearing up. She goes and Chanel tells her about baking a sweet potato pie together. They should add it to the menu. Chanel’s pumped about how real it’s starting to feel. Allie saw the banner at the square, “Sweet Bits coming soon!” They hold hands in their excitement. Tripp arrives and tastes the donuts. He gives them five stars and tells them they’re superb. He jokingly asks if there’s a job for him and Chanel tells him to spill it. He tells them about Dr. Snyder being nasty. He stumbled upon something he’s done and reported it to Kayla. He’s worried it’ll spiral out of control. The women put some brownies in and Chanel wants to dance off the carbs. She puts on tunes and they dance. Tripp does his white boy dance and they later give him a brownie. It’s the best he’s ever had!

Jack finds Steve and Kayla discussing Gwen and Dr. Snyder. Kayla covers that they’re wondering why he’d let her live with him. He wants to be with her. Steve gets it. Tripp made mistakes when he first got to town. Kay’s just worried Gwen might hurt Jack. Jack shares that Gwen feels bad about her behavior. He tells them she and Xander are starting to get along since he spoke to them. Kayla prods him about how Gwen’s doing. Jack says she seems fine, according to her doctor. “He says he wanted to make sure she took her meds.” Kayla is shocked and Steve covers. “We’re happy she’s feeling better.” He goes to video call Jennifer and the couple argues about what’s going on with Gwen.
At Alice’s, Gwen’s shocked that Snyder has a heart attack. She checks his pulse. “He’s dead.” Xander yells, “What? No, he can’t be. I let him go. You saw it happen!” Gwen does chest compressions to no avail as Xander stands watching in shock. They argue about what they’re going to do about it. Julie walks in and asks, “What the hell is that?” She sees Snyder on the sofa. She calls them out for turning it into a halfway house for low lives.” Julie tries to wake him up and he doesn’t budge, since he’s dead. Julie realizes “the degenerate” is passed out. Xander is happy with her assessment and he tells her that he got drunk during lunch. Julie yells to get him out of her house. She goes and Xander and Gwen argue about the drug mule story getting out. “You grab his arms, I’ll grab his legs,” Xander says. Gwen worries he’s done this before. Jack walks in and their eyes get as big as saucers. They hide the body on the floor and put a blanket across them and turn on cartoons. Jack’s happy to see them getting along. He thinks he’ll join them and Gwen barks out. “NO! You won’t!” They don’t think he’d be able to follow the story. Jack points out that it’s a cartoon. He asks for the letter opener and tells them to enjoy their show. “If this keeps up, I’m going to have a bloody heart attack,” Xander complains. They pick up the body.

Paulina wanders the square seeming to feel guilty about whatever it is she’s turning the place into.
