Days of our Lives recap for Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
In today’s Days episode, Rafe learns Nicole is living with EJ, Steve seeks help from Rafe and Jada, and Ava plots revenge with Charlie.
In the last Days recap, Gwen roped Leo into her scheme, and Sarah shared her suspicions with Justin, while Xander “saved” the day. Meanwhile, EJ and Nicole got closer as Eric and Sloan had sex.
Eric wakes Nicole up in her bed at the DiMera mansion.
He couldn’t stop thinking about her.
He doesn’t want to throw away what could be their last chance at happiness.
He wants her to forgive him and come home with him.
They say I love yous and kiss and then Nicole walks up alone.
Johnny arrives in a suit. He needs to get some of his grandma’s things before the memorial service.
She lets him in. She’s sorry about Susan, who was a sweetheart. Johnny apologizes for acting like a jerk when he learned she was staying there.
He likes Rafe and her and thought things between them would work out. Nicole realizes they are wrong for each other.
He’s a good person. “I am not and never will be.”
Johnny digs into Susan’s jewelry box and finds a gaudy cross with rhinestones and they chuckle.
They admire that Susan did things her way without a thought or care about what others thought of her.
Johnny says he’s grateful to Nicole for how much she cared for him and Sydney, regardless of what when her relationship with his dad was.
She calls the kids a delight. Johnny remembers her staying up with him night after night after his eye surgery.
She read Goodnight Moon so many times. She laughs.
He says he never believed his mother when she said unkind words against Nic. Nicole calls him sweet.
Downstairs in the living room, EJ talks to Roger on a call.
He can’t make the impromptu trip to Salem for the memorial because he already planned a pilgrimage to Graceland in Susan’s honor.
EJ understands. They both agree they hope Ava’s burning in hell for what she did. Rafe tries to dig into what happened.
Outside, Ava stalks EJ unseen.
Rafe turns up for EJ’s statement.
EJ tells him the briefest statement, calling it unpleasant to discuss.
Rafe needs more details.
EJ doesn’t get why. When Nicole appears in her dressing gown, Rafe asks what the hell she’s doing there.
EJ tells him she spent the night. Rafe’s rude and takes off.
Nicole goes off and Johnny appears to EJ. He took Susan’s cross to the church.
Neither can believe this is real.
Father Bernard asked if they wanted to arrange for a marker since there are no remains.
EJ likes the thought of a plaque in the crypt.
He jokes that they placed one for Uncle Jake and he rose from the dead.
Maybe they’ll get lucky again.
Johnny isn’t sure Grandma would want her plaque to be there. Because of what the devil did.
They agree it’s a no go and EJ tells Johnny to bring Wendy to the memorial if he likes so they can keep up the cover of them being involved.
Johnny says, “Oh. Right. Yeah. Thank you.”
EJ tells him not to talk about their little secret though. Johnny vows he’ll never tell.
They joke about the peanut butter and banana sandwiches at the memorial and EJ admits he doesn’t care about that but wants to honor her properly.
In her apartment, Sloan wakes Eric up with coffee in her bed.
It’s hot, she tells him but not nearly as hot as he was last night.
He groans as they kiss.
He’s thinking of something else and she asks if he’s having regrets.
He’s got a hangover. He wants breakfast but she doesn’t eat breakfast. That isn’t what he wants.
He kisses her and they make out.
After sex, they snuggle and he tells her his sister was wrong telling him that the worst mistake he could make was to get into bed with her.
They chuckle and kiss. After more sex, he tells her about being defrocked.
They make out and go for round three. After, she tells him his stamina was amazing. He must have a lot to make up for.
He says no, he had the idea of having a white picket fence and kids. He’s not ready to get into a relationship.
She doesn’t mean to sound Jaded but she’s never been the happily-ever-after type.
He says they’re on the same page.
They drink to wiled passionate sex without attachments.
He still has to pay his bill.
She offers to let him stay another night and he can pay it then but he needs to go back to the pub and face everyone.
She offers to be there for him if he needs her. He’s grateful. It’s been a while since he had a friend.
Later, he has made them eggs. They eat in bed and she wants more sex.
She thinks she has some cuffs around here somewhere. He thinks things are spicy enough. But next time.
She has a fantasy about a hot priest but he’s not down with that. He wants to take her in the shower. They race there.
Jada gets ready for work in her room above the Brady’s pub when Kate appears with tea.
She thinks Jada looks good. Jada’s feeling better physically and emotionally. Not that she’s happy Eric’s in jail.
Kate says he was released last night thanks to Sloan Peterson, his lawyer.
Jada’s shocked. She hasn’t heard from him. Kate thought he would have checked on here.
He owes her that much. Jada disagrees. She’s glad he’s s staying away.
They’re history. “He’s somebody else’s problem now.”

Downstairs at the pub, Steve saunters in and tells Roman that he left Kayla with Tripp in Seattle since he’s so broken up about losing his mother.
He and Steph will return there for Christmas. Roman’s glad he and Kayla just happened to be there in Seattle when Ava was killed.
“It wasn’t exactly luck,” Steve says. Kate and Jada appear.
Kate asks how Tripp is and Jada takes off to work so Steve gives her a lift since he has something to discuss with her.
A police matter.
They leave and Nicole strolls in looking for Jada.
Kate says she just left and probably doesn’t want to see her.
Nicole says she didn’t force Jada to get an abortion.
Roman says he and Kate were rooting for Nicole and Eric.
Nic asks how Jada is.
Kate says as well as to be expected. Nicole’s sorry. Roman asks if she heard from Eric.
Nic saw him last night with his new lawyer, Sloan.
He said he never wanted to see her again.
Roman is concerned since he didn’t come home last night.
Deck the Halls plays in the background as Nicole’s not sure where he is.
She takes off and doesn’t look happy.
In the DiMera crypt, Charlie meanders in and talks to Ava about her plan for Susan’s memorial which she calls direct.
“EJ’s going to die,” she says.
They recap what happened with her previous revenge.
He’s surprised killing EJ’s mom was not enough.
She gets out some luggage and shows him a bomb inside.
“It’s going to be a blast,” she says, chuckling at her pun.
At SPD, Steve tells Jada and Rafe that EJ DiMera kidnapped Tripp.
That bastard needs to pay for it. He explains what he knows and Rafe and Jada realize why EJ refuses to give him a statement.
It’s why EJ was so devastated at the crash site. They ask why he waited to tell them.
At first, he says Ava asked him not to and then they stayed with Tripp after Ava died.
This is off the record for now until they can make EJ pay for what he did.
If they can prove that EJ did everything from Salem, they’ll have jurisdiction. Rafe’s excited.
Steve goes and Rafe asks Jada how she is. She’s fine but tired of people asking that. She’s not a fragile doll.
Both talk about wanting to put their exes behind them.
She questions him and he tells her he saw Nicole at EJ’s place in a dressing gown. “What?” Jada asks. Rafe says she moved in. Jada’s sorry.
Rafe says nothing Nicole does surprises him but he’d like to wipe EJ’s smug look from his face.
Eric and Sloan come out of the shower in towels and kissing.
A knock comes to the door and Sloan hauls the door open to Nicole, who sees what’s going on and huffs out a sigh.
“Nicole Walker. What are you doing here?”
