Days of our Lives recap for Thursday, December 29, 2022.
In today’s Days episode, it’s Gabi and Li’s wedding day and Chloe and Stefan have a romantic New Year’s Eve in Miami, while Wendy reaches a breaking point.
In the last Days recap, Eric and Brady put their plan into action to kidnap Rachel, and Nancy pressed Chloe about her love life before Chloe and Stefan went to Miami.
Stefan and Chloe arrive at their hotel in Miami, overheated from wearing winter clothes.
He tells her to take off her clothes. She clams up and looks worried. They haven’t even had dinner.
He grins. He wants to take her to dinner. That’s what he meant. For her to change.
At Rafe’s house, Gabi tells Wendy she has wedding jitters. Wendy makes some tea for Ari who has an upset tummy.
Gabi worries something’s going to go horribly wrong.
Wendy looks guilty. Gabi’s not sure she deserves to be happy.
Wendy disagrees and calls Li lucky. Gabi says Ari’s wired. She brings the tea to her. Johnny calls to ask what color Wendy’s tie is.
He’s trying to pick out a tie. Wendy talks about how nervous she and Gabi are. She thinks Gabi’s having doubts.
She says she’s having difficulty knowing she’s keeping a secret from the bride, just as Gabi walks up.
She confronts Wendy, who says it’s a secret from her brother about their wedding night.
Gabi laughs. “I can’t wait to see what it is.” Wendy says, “Neither can I.”
Gabs gifts her a beautiful bracelet she designed just for Wendy. The inscription reads, Hermanas. (Sisters).
Gabi liked her right away and lost her sister but now she has Wendy.
She hugs her and Wendy looks like she’s going to melt down. Gabi returns and says that Ari’s sick.
She’s vomiting. Wendy offers to stay with her or she could postpone the wedding.
At the townhouse, Brady calls Eric to tell him he has until midnight to get Rachel out of here.
He hopes they’re doing the right thing. Kristen appears in a dressing gown. She’s not going.
She saw Marlena and John drive off. Brady forgot to tell her that Eric’s babysitting. He’s great with kids.
She comments that he went to a lot of trouble to go with her tonight.
He wanted this to be his idea instead of being forced into it, he reminds her.
She purrs, “Are you sure that’s all it is?” She remembers he kissed a nun, thinking it was her.
Maybe he’s looking to their future.
At the DiMera mansion, Nicole fixes her hair in her room before EJ walks in. She’s sorry she’s late.
Her hair wasn’t cooperating. He thinks she will upstage the bride. She scoffs.
She wouldn’t want to be on Gabi’s bad side more. EJ offers her a lift.
She’s grateful but he has to talk her into it. She asks him to zip her up.
She looks like she’ll melt when he touches her skin. EJ heads downstairs and notes his son is in a tux, too.
They realize they’re both going to Li’s wedding. EJ hopes he’s not going to make a scene.
Johnny says no. EJ pokes fun at it. Nicole appears and Johnny’s surprised she’ll be there since Rafe is going.
They decide to go together.
At Salem Inn, as Li showers, he asks Rafe to get his phone when it rings. It’s Dr. Rolf.
Li appears and Rafe tells him it’s Rolf. Li fakes hating on Dr. Rolf, asking where he got this number from.
Rolf says, “You gave it to me.”
He has information for him. Li tells him not to call again and disconnects before telling Rafe that the scientist wants DiMera to fund his next lab.
Like he’d do that.
Rafe doesn’t blame him since he brought Stefan back from the dead, why would he help that guy?
Li lies that he’s not threatened by Stefan.
Rafe picks Jada up at the pub. He falls over himself telling her how great she looks and then apologizes, calling it inappropriate.
She thought it was nice and thinks he looks good too. He asks if she’s ready for a Salem wedding.
She jokes that she’s taken a course on it at the police academy.
They’re high drama and high risk, they agree. They take off.
Brady and Kristen arrive at the destination for the wedding. EJ and Nicole say hello and EJ grins at his sister.
He thinks they look domestic together. Kristen felt hurt that he excluded her from his mother’s funeral but she dodged a bullet. Or a bomb. Nicole fake laughs and they go get drinks.
Brady thinks people get upset when you make jokes about their dead mother
. She takes a selfie for Rachel and forces Brady to smile.
Back in Miami, Chloe dresses and Stefan gets some wine ready to drink while she looks to see her mother hasn’t posted more embarrassing ice skating photos on social media.
She finds the photo of Kristen and Brady and isn’t happy.
She explains this to Stefan. They agree she should unfollow him.
Chloe’s sorry for always talking about Brady.
Stefan’s glad that he’s moved on and thinks leaving her for Gabi was stupid.
They have dinner and then for dessert, they start making out. Stefan asks if she’s sure. She’s sure so he unzips her dress while they kiss.
Back in Salem, Nicole needs another drink when she sees Jada and Rafe walk into the wedding venue.
EJ follows her. Jada doesn’t blame Nicole for what happened between her and Eric but she does think she’s a liar and manipulative.

Rafe comments that she’s with EJ. As a couple. Interesting, since she claims they’re just living in the same house.
Li arrives and can’t find Gabi. What if she got cold feet?
Nearby, Kristen wonders to Brady how Stefan and Chloe are enjoying Miami.
She calls it a milestone but assumes they’ve had sex. Brady calls her pathetic to rub salt in the wound. He says this doesn’t mean it’s permanent.
She shows him the post on Instagram and he says she forced that smile and it was supposed to be for Rachel, not social media.
“That’s the picture of a blackmailer and her victim.” She stops having fun and moves to leave. He asks her not to and apologizes.
Wendy arrives and Rafe asks if everything is okay.
She says they called Sonny to care for a sick Ari. Rafe goes and Wendy wonders if she should have told Gabi the truth when she had the chance.
Li returns and tells the crows they’re about to begin.
The wedding begins with the Justice of the Peace, Rafe, and Li walking to the middle of the room.
Wendy follows, not looking too thrilled. Li notices.
Gabi walks to her groom, a big smile in place.
The JOP starts the wedding. He does the part where he asks if anyone has an objection.
Gabi thought they took that part out. Wendy speaks up. Li startles.
Wendy tears up and Nicole looks at how tense EJ is and asks if he’s okay.
Wendy says she’s happy for her brother and Gabi and couldn’t ask for a better big sister.
Li says it’d have been more appropriate as a toast. Gabi calls it lovely and hands over her bouquet before asking Li not to be so hard on her. He’s sorry, calling it a force of habit.
He thanks his sister. She’s got tears streaming down her face at this point.
Li says his vows but when it’s time for Gabi to, she flashes to marrying Stefan and then says. “I do.” She laughs, uncomfortably.
Li slides the diamond band on her finger and she slides a gold and silver band on his.
They’re pronounced husband and wife and they kiss. Everyone shakes a little bell.
Rafe welcomes Li to his family with a toast and calls Gabi fierce.
Li is as well. He knows marriage is rough. EJ rubs Nicole’s back as she looks on, guiltily.
He finishes the toast and Li gets a call. He thought he turned off his phone. It’s a private caller. “Dr. Rolf again?”
Rolf asks. Gabi’s shocked they’re in touch.
Rolf leaves a message, stating that he just learned that CR17 can wear off with certain triggers.
He hopes it doesn’t happen in Gabriella’s case. Later, Rafe asks if Gabi hated his toast.
She drops her champagne glass, seeming confused. She flashes to Dr. Rolf and dropping his vials, then him revealing he brainwashed Stefan.
She tells everyone this and that Rolf made Stefan hate her.
EJ holds his head in his hand and Li grimaces. Gabi says Kristen told him to.
She wanted to break up Brady and Chloe.
Kristen admits she was there when Rolf woke up but lies that it wasn’t her idea.
Brady asks whose it was then!
Gabi thinks some more and realizes it was Li’s idea.
She confronts him.
