Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
In today’s Days recap, Brady grows suspicious of Sloan, Gabi questions Rafe about his feelings for Jada.
In the last Days recap, Jake told Kate, Marlena and Kayla they’re not dead, Roman saved Orpheus’ life in exchange for learning that a DiMera stole the orchid.
Wendy arrives at Li’s room at Salem Inn to see how he’s doing since Gabi refused to see him on Valentine’s Day.
Li tells her that Gabi’s Valentine’s celebration went awry when he called her Chloe. She heard.
She saw the stain on his shirt from the wine that Gabi threw at him.
Li smiles brightly but his sister thinks he’s setting himself up for heartbreak. He says she’s worth the risk. He asks how last night went.
She tells him about her fun night with Johnny watching Evil Dead 2 and the delicious dinner that Gabi and Stefan didn’t eat.
Li’s thrilled to tell her the DiMera stock shot down since he was fired. He smiles and she leaves.
At SPD, Gabi tells Rafe that Arianna’s moving to New Zealand with her daddies.
Rafe’s surprised she’s not fighting this. Gabi isn’t in love with the idea but she’ll be with her daddies.
She really wants this and Gabi says she’ll visit a lot. Talk turns to Rolf. Rafe still has no news for her.
She thought Melinda would put the screws to him. “She tried,” he says but it didn’t work.
He grins and asks how her Valentine’s Day was with Stefan. “I ended up flat on my back…” she says.
His face falls. “And not in a good way.” She blames Rafe who told her to remain positive.
“Because of your brilliant advice, I ran straight toward the football.” Rafe says, “Hmm, and landed flat on your back.” He smirks.
Gabi starts telling him they were getting hot and she was avoiding the elephant in the room until he called her by the elephant’s name. Then she went to see Li. “I didn’t have any plans,” she says.
Rafe explodes. Why would she go there? She says she was humiliated. Li wants her and nobody else. Rolf knows.
Look at the lengths he’s gone to. Rafe tells her not to go back to Li.
She just didn’t want to spend V-Day alone like him. He reveals he was with Jada. She wants details, calling it a date.
He shrugs her off and explains that it was just burgers between friends. Gabi’s happy for him. Jada’s better for him than “that skank Nicole.” Rafe says they’re just colleagues.
Brady arrives at Sloan’s place and Eric answers, half-naked. He thought his brother was the pizza boy.
Sloan appears and Brady reveals he needs her to get Rolf out of jail so he can make a statement about Li Shin being the person responsible for his crimes.
He tells them about Chloe leaving town.
He wants Rolf to finish the brainwashing so that Chloe will come back to him. Sloan refuses to help. It’s not in Rolf’s interest. She can’t base her strategy on his love life.
Plus, she won’t fall for one of Trask’s dirty tricks. Li texts Sloan who has to leave.
Once she’s gone, the men eat pizza and Brady wonders if there’s something they don’t know. Why would Sloan take Rolf’s case? Brady thinks the reason texted her.
The client that Sloan’s really working for. Eric calls it unethical. Brady snorts like Sloan’s been ethical before.
He goes snooping in her stuff. Eric doesn’t like it. Brady says he’s looking for evidence.
Brady finds a document. Rolf’s statement. Suddenly, Eric’s interest is piqued. Sloan’s working for Li and stopping Rolf from signing.
Brady wants his brother’s help to divide and conquer.
Nicole complains to herself about going into the office. She spots Johnny and asks how he is. He’s not great after three funerals.
He says DiMera stock dropped. Some sensitive information was leaked thanks to EJ. They wonder what the heck is going on with him.
Last night, he didn’t feel good. Johnny asks if he didn’t get enough sleep. He reddens and Nicole realizes he means sex. It’s awkward.
She says they were married and they’re getting close again. It’s all kinds of awkward and Johnny talks about how things are complicated with Wendy.
They discuss the notification that comes in from PR who has stated that the company DiMera is interested is just one of several.
They’re happy that EJ’s mistake was smoothed over.
At DiMera, Stefan asks EJ why he’d reveal they were going to buy this company before they locked it down.
They weren’t ready to go public for weeks. The reporter asked and before he knew it, he was telling her everything.
Stefan yells, flashing to drugging his brother’s coffee once again this morning.
EJ’s sorry and mortified. Stefan wants to focus on damage control.
EJ goes and Stefan mocks EJ’s British accent and talks about getting him out of the company when Jada pokes her head in.
They’re building a case about his assault. He can’t testify. He’s in love with Gabi.
She asks about Rolf. Stefan says the man is confused about his loyalties but he isn’t sure he’ll testify against him, either.
She asks him to consider it and leaves. He poisons EJ’s drink again and when EJ returns, tries to get him to drink.
EJ’s not up for it. He heads home and Stefan groans that he can’t convince the board to get rid of EJ if he won’t take the damned drug.
EJ returns home while Nicole and Johnny are pondering how EJ could make a mistake like this.
EJ tells them he’s not sure either. He’s glad to hear that PR smoothed things over.

He goes to his room and Nicole follows.
He doesn’t understand how this happened. “This isn’t me.” He’s distracted.
She wonders if it’s because he lost Susan but he wonders if it has to do with Stefan.
He feels guilty about what he did to his brother and today, when he learned of EJ’s screw-up, he was compassionate.
She tells him not to let it get to him. He’s good at raising DiMera stock. She talks about how wonderful “last night” was.
He calls her wonderful. Both are glad it happened. They start kissing.
Sloan arrives at Salem Inn to Li’s suite. “You rang?”
He’s in a good mood and tells her it’s imperative to continue to slow his divorce down.
He reports on his dinner with Gabi. She promises she’ll keep it up and ensure Rolf doesn’t sign the statement.
Jada interrupts Rafe and Gabi. Gabi takes off.
The cops talk about Li and Rolf and how Gabi’s backslid with Li a little. He’s worried about her.
Eric arrives to see Dr. Rolf.
Gabi goes to Li’s suite at Salem Inn to pick up her scarf.
He gifts her his shares in DiMera stock. It’s just one share but he wanted to show his love for her.
Wendy arrives at DiMera and Stefan’s office to install antiviral software on his computer.
He tells her that’s fine. He’s off to see Chloe. “What about Gabi?”
Stefan says she didn’t contact him. He takes off. Johnny appears with hot chocolate.
He steps on something and reaches for it. It’s the vial of drugs Stefan’s been using on EJ.
“What the heck is this?” Johnny says.
Sloan returns home and Eric’s out.
She helps herself to the pizza.
Stefan goes to meet Chloe but instead finds Brady has called him to the park. He’s not happy.
