Days of our Lives recap for Friday, December 9, 2022.
In today’s Days episode, Chad talks to Sonny about his feelings for Stephanie, and Alex and Stephanie get romantic.
In the last Days recap, Nicole and Eric ended it for good, Li was confronted by Stefan, Sister Mary Moira visited EJ, and Gabi asked Wendy to be her maid of honor.
At the Horton homestead, Gwen’s on a call with Emma about the Chanel case Leo arrives. “Matty!”
Leo has a scoop for her but first, she’ll have to hire him. He’s been spilling tea since he left the room.
He shows her gossip he’s written up.
She says they can’t publish this but he can write under a pen name.
She reads it. “Lady Whistleblower.”
He says he can’t work for Sonny because “Wilhelmina Wet Blanket” wouldn’t like it and neither would Victor.
Besides, Sonny’s married. She says that’s his type. Leo blushes.
She tickles him and he denies being into Sonny. They discuss how things are going with her and Xander and that Sarah Goody Two Shoes doesn’t know things that she does.
“Tell me what the Scotty Hottie did this time!” She doesn’t tell him and he asks her to be careful. He’s off to an AA meeting for free coffee and donuts.
Chad hugs Sonny in the square. He talks about it being his last day at Stephanie’s firm and that he’s interested in her but it’s too soon after Abby.
She’s moved on with Alex. Sonny suggests that he move on and give it a shot with Steph.
Chad looks at his ring. “I can’t.” He hopes the feelings will go away. Sonny offers to find him a job.
He’s been finding one for Leo Stark. Chad gasps. “Leo Stark?”
Sonny admits he finds Leo funny and he’s changed. He says he told Will but they’re not in a good place.
He’s not coming home for Christmas because of work, which comes first.
Chad says to find Will another job. Closer to home. Chad says to be careful with Will.
Stephanie lets Alex into her parents’ condo before their date.
He gives her a bouquet of flowers.
She wants to stay in rather than go out. She shows him a table set up in the living room with candles.
He seems really overcome by it. He pours wine and is surprised she cooked. They flirt.
He tells her he’s stepped down and has less to do at work now that Sonny’s back as CEO.
She thinks he seems to be a man on top.
He thinks she means sexually and admits he does.
She smiles into her white wine. Dinner’s almost ready.
She takes his wine from him and kisses him loudly. They start removing each other’s clothes.
Before they get to the bedroom, Paulina calls from jail. Later, Steph calls Chad. Paulina’s resigning to protect Abe’s job.
She asks him over to draft a statement. He’ll be right there. She kisses Alex bye.
Bonnie, Sarah and Maggie have a girls’ night at the pub but Bonnie’s glum.
Their attempt to cheer her up after her kidnapping isn’t working.
She thinks of Susan’s death and Maggie hopes they catch “that circus freak” and lock him up.
She realizes it’s time to put it all behind her.
he goes to get drinks and Sarah tells Maggie that she confronted Xander about Rednax (Xander spelled backwards) and found a website and a listing for the job he vacated.
Sarah feels bad for doubting him.
Later, Bonnie thinks she sees the Clown kidnapper and has a meltdown.
She grabs his tray and beats him with it.
Beer goes flying and Roman rolls around on the floor with cuts on his face.
Sarah and Maggie grab Bonnie who sobs and realizes it’s just Roman.
He jokes that she could have left a bad review on Yelp.
Her friends care for her while he cleans up.
Roman arrives and the women suggest she get therapy.
She just needs to drink.
She sees all three of them as the clown and looks more upset.
She dashes off with her coat.

At the no-tell-motel, Xander fails at an attempt to kill a cockroach and puts his shoe on, thinking he’s no person to judge a cockroach.
Justin arrives. He just spoke to Bonnie and Xandy’s in big trouble.
“Bonnie told me!” He starts yelling and Xander flashes to holding Bonnie hostage.
He knows about the debt collector. Xander says he no longer has a job because his boss asked him to do something he was uncomfortable with.
Justin’s proud. He wants to sue Rednax for wrongful termination.
Xander turns him down. Justin talks about them becoming friends.
Xander almost tells the truth and backs down.
Xander calls Gwen to tell her Justin wants him to sue Rednax for wrongful termination.
She laughs and he barks. She wants to help. She’ll create an employment contract.
He’ll bring hot chocolate and meet her at the park.
He leaves Sarah a note and she turns up thinking it’s cold for a run.
Chad arrives at the Johnson condo.
He sees that Steph had plans.
The food is ready so they decide to make this a working dinner.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Alex opens a pizza box.
Justin appears and the men drink beer and eat pizza.
Maggie appears and tells them their night was cut short.
He asks where Bonnie is.
Xander arrives in the park with cocoa and he’s freezing.
Meanwhile, Gwen gets some papers together and take off to meet him.
Bonnie turns up and sees Xander telling himself he will not let this disrupt his life.
She flashes back to the clown saying the same thing.
He spots her. “Bonnie!”
She says, “Xander.”
She knows he was the clown.
Xander looks beside himself realizing he’s caught.
Leo finds Sonny at the square and is invited to eat since Chad left so fast.
