A Gunshot Rings Out During Ciara’s Escape Attempt

On today’s full episode recap of Days of our Lives, Eli and Lani close in on Ivan, Susan sees Ciara stealing Rhodes’ keys to escape, and Brady reacts to learning that Kristen threatened Chloe.

In Chicago, Vivian’s nervous when someone shows up at her condo. She and the babies go into the next room and Ivan opens the door to Eli and Lani, both brandishing guns. They ask where Vivian and the kids are. He says they’re alive and well and inside but he can’t let them in. Ivan asks if the doctor spilled. They tell him to shut up and he says if they break in, their sweet children will be in trouble. Ivan lies that Vivian’s volatile and throws her under the bus, blaming her for the kidnapping. Lani tosses her ammo into the hall and Ivan lets her in. She finds a baby blanket and sniffs it, relieved. Ivan lets them into a room and locks them in. Ivan goes to find Vivian and lies about who was at the door. Vivian’s grateful to him for bringing them the twins. She didn’t realize how much this would mean to her.

In the hospital, Brady’s horrified that Kristen threatened Chloe’s life. Chloe knows that Kristen goes big and doesn’t think she can do anything from prison. When she leaves, Brady calls Victor and they discuss Philip’s issues with the mob.

In Statesville, Kristen stares at the photo of Brady and Chloe kissing. “It just burns my ass,” she says. She calls Brady and he reams her out for threatening Chloe. Kristen feels justified. She won’t let Chloe get away with letting him get hurt. Brady defends Chloe. He made a choice. “Right after she batted her baby blues and flashed her cleavage at you?” Kristen is angry because he lied about being with Chloe when the shooting happened. Brady admits it. She already blew up seeing him kiss Chloe. He didn’t want a repeat of that. He knows she’s worrying and obsessing as it is and promises he’s not leaving her for Chloe. “Not now, not today, not ever.” Kristen worries he’ll get tired of waiting for her and fall for someone else. Brady tries to alleviate her insecurities. He worries about how many more years they’ll give her for what she did.

At Marlena’s townhouse, Ben is rocked when Susan has a premonition that Ciara’s alive.

From her cage, Ciara hits Rhodes over the head with a tray and tries to escape but the door is locked. She takes Rhodes’ keys from him.

Back in Salem, Susan closes her eyes and yells, “There’s a bad man! No, Ciara, no!” Ben begs Susan to tell him what she’s seeing. Claire worries that what Susan’s seeing has happened already. “She is trapped in this glass box,” Susan tells “Benjamin.” She sees Rhodes with a gun but the premonition is gone. Ben pressures her to see more but Susan holds his hand and says there may be a way to connect with her. She tells him to use his love.

At the Kiriakis house, Philip writes a letter to Victor. Chloe appears to tell him Brady’s going to be okay. Philip’s thrilled but calls himself an idiot. His relationship with his dad is on its last legs. He says Vic’s in Philidelphia fixing his mistakes. Philip’s upset at how things went down when he thought he had it under control. Chloe tells him that Kristen is blaming her for Brady’s shooting, not him. Philip feels terrible. He’s glad she always sticks by him. She calls them friends and he asks if that’s all they are to each other and kisses her. She pulls away after a while and asks what that was for. Philip has made mistakes with her and wants another chance. Chloe’s not looking for anything. Philip questions if she’s still into Brady. He knows Brady’s still got a thing for her. Chloe rolls her eyes at that. Philip says he’ll clean up his act and they can pick up things afterward.

Back in her cage, Ciara escapes and gets as far as the second door when Rhodes gets up and she hears the cock of a gun. Rhodes tells her she’s not going anywhere and she stops. He says it’s been nice getting to know her but he has no trouble pulling the trigger. Ciara doubts he will. “Vincent is not paying you to guard a corpse.” Rhodes doesn’t give a crap. The world thinks she’s dead already. Maybe he wants a career change. Ciara holds her hands up and walks back into the room.

Susan uses Ben’s love to feel Ciara and she sees Ciara and Rhodes struggle with the gun. The gun goes off and Susan screams.

Rhodes shoves Ciara into her room. Neither has been shot. He yells that nobody can hear her. She’s lost her reading privileges because she got the idea to fake poison herself in order to attempt the escape. He sneers that she hit him and made him bleed and the next time someone gets hurt it’s going to be her.

Back in Salem, Ben wants to learn if Ciara was shot. Susan is done and his intensity over his fear frightens her. Claire gets between them and tells Ben to stop. He apologizes. Susan needs to recharge. “Right now I’m just gonna go check on that scrumptious Brady Black. Word of advice, make sure you hide John’s neckties.”

Ciara cries as she opens a fortune cookie that reads, “Nothing is ever lost if you follow your heart.” She begs Ben not to give up on her.

Susan shows up at the hospital to see Brady. Brady tells Kristen she’s there and disconnects before Kristen gets a chance to say she loves him. She has an idea about Susan’s return to Salem…Meanwhile, Susan gets up on his bed and says she had to see “with my own two peepers” that he was okay. She reveals she had a premonition about it. Brady’s clearly uncomfortable as she starts touching his muscles. She reveals this won’t be the last visit they share.
