In the Friday, June 4, 2020, full episode recap of Days of our Lives, Julie and Xander get into it, Allie is propositioned by Chanel in an interesting way, and Gwen has a run-in with Snyder. In case you missed out, in Thursday’s episode, Belle and Claire reunited, and Chloe and Jan struggled with the gun.
Eli returns home and hugs Lani before telling her that Claire’s on her way home. She’s fine, except there are no leads on Chloe. They discuss the babies and how Jules is napping less during the day. Talk turns to Chanel and Lani admits they discussed his “considerable assets.” Lani was hard on her. Eli’s glad she set her straight. He hears about Chanel’s new venture and hopes it means she’ll move out soon. He wonders where to find someone to “appreciate my considerable assets.” Lani says if he plays his cards right it’ll be her. They smooch. She hates that she’s jealous. She never wants him to be attracted to another woman. Eli wouldn’t like it either. They’re glad they’re both jealous and insecure. They have sex on the sofa.
Xander lays on Alice’s sofa and eats powdered donuts. There are white bits all over his shirt. Julie wanders in and says, “You ate a dozen donuts?” She made them for Doug. She gets a crazed look in her eyes and tells him to get out. “You need to calm down. You’re already on your second heart.” He’ll go buy more. Julie rants that those were Alice’s donuts that Julie made with her own two hands. Xander doesn’t know who Alice is, which sets Julie off even more. He suggests she doesn’t leave food around his territory. Julie tells him he just ate 3500 calories. She says he’s gaining weight. Xander says that it’s not true, but Julie notices a potbelly. “You’re gonna hate being fat.” She punches him in the gut.
Gwen runs into Dr. Snyder at the hospital. They go to a room and he hands her another envelope of drugs to deliver. When she looks sullen, he reminds her of his blackmail. She stuffs the envelope in her purse and Tripp walks in to tell Snyder to sign something. Tripp introduces herself. “Our dads are brothers.” Gwen didn’t know. Tripp asks if she’s okay and Snyder tells Gwen to follow the instructions. He’d hate to see her backslide. She goes and Snyder asks if Tripp’s spying on him. Tripp’s confused. He’s not spying. He grabbed the chart at the nurses’ station and followed him.
Allie takes a call from Claire, to let her know that she’s been rescued. Allie disconnects and gets a text from Chanel wanting to hang out. Allie thinks about kissing her friend and says, “Sure.” Chanel stops by and tells her she’s opening a bakery in the Horton town square. With her mama back in town, she’s making it easier for business owners of colour to own. “The rent is subsidized for a year,” she says and it’ll give her time to save and gain a good reputation. Allie’s psyched for her friend. She used to make the best cookies and scones. Chanel wants the Horton family recipe to sell the doughnuts. Allie’s not sure she can get the recipe. Julie has it. Chanel knows that Julie won’t give it to her, since Julie and her mother never hit it off. Allie calls Julie over and introductions are made. Julie learns she wants to open a bakery and they would like to sell Alice’s doughnuts. Julie’s put off since she made doughnuts for Doug and Xander ate them. Chanel tells her she married Xander. When Julie hears that, she refuses to give her Alice’s recipe. Allie reminds her that the doughnuts were already in a scandal when JJ put weed into the doughnut batter. She tells her about how the Book Club members met, ate the weed doughnuts, and the women were all baked. Chanel laughs and asks who was there. Julie intervenes and decides that it’s fitting to provide the doughnuts to all of Salem. The women smile brightly. Once Julie’s gone, Chanel thinks her bakery will be a success. They dance around happily and share a moment.
At the airfield, Chloe and Jan struggle with the gun and Chloe’s shot in the arm. Philip grabs her and she falls into his arms as Jan looks on, shocked. Jan says she’s hated Chloe’s guts for 20 years and is ready to kill her. Philip grabs dirt and throws it in Jan’s eyes and then grabs her by the neck and chokes her out. Jan passes out and Philip calls Shawn.
Brady and Shawn discuss Chloe being missing. Brady’s clearly upset. Shawn gets Philip’s call and he and Brady take off to the hospital to meet them.
Gwen arrives home to Xander doing push-ups. She asks him to stop so she can watch television. She sits on his bed. “I don’t recall inviting you into my bed,” he says. They argue and she tells him to go work out in the middle of an intersection. He grabs her bag and tries to get her to leave and out drops the drugs. “Well well well, what do we have here?” He asks. Gwen looks positively green. She demands he give them to her and covers that they’re her pain killers.
Philip and Brady are with Chloe in her room at the hospital. Philip blames Brady for the shooting and then calls Eli and tells him that Chloe’s been found shot in the arm. She’ll be fine. He’s not sure about Jan. Elsewhere, Shawn finds Tripp and tells him who really killed his brother. Jan, not Belle. Shawn arrives and stops Brady and Philip from fighting over how Brady was so stupid that he didn’t even know that his girlfriend was disguising herself as Susan, living with him, and obsessing over him. Chloe tells Shawn she and Claire can give evidence that Jan admitted to murdering Charlie. Philip doesn’t like that she’s at the same hospital. Shawn goes to Snyder to ask for a guard outside of Jan’s room. Snyder doesn’t think so since Jan slipped into a coma. Back in Chloe’s room, Brady apologizes to Chloe. He says Philip’s right, that he’s responsible for this. Philip nods and gives them time alone. Brady says he dumped Kristen. He could never forgive her for what she did. Chloe nods. Brady will make it his life’s work to ensure she’s never around her or Rachel again. Chloe cries.
