Friday, April 2, 2020: On today’s full episode recap of Days of our Lives, Sami and Rafe discuss Trask being out for blood, Ava makes a reveal to Nicole, and Allie and Tripp bond.
At home, John tells Marlena he was thinking of swinging by the Cop Shop. Marlena explains that Jan Spears is waking up from her coma. Belle got the call since she’s John’s lawyer and John tried to kill her. He sighs and gets wound up in his memory of wanting Jan to die. Marlena says he’s not to blame for what happened. The aneurysm made sure he was out of control. John admits that he still can’t recall what happened to Charlie when he went to his apartment the night he was killed. He isn’t sure he went into Charlie’s apartment that night. John came to inside the car and saw all of the text messages, which meant he had been there a while. “I haven’t been completely honest with you,” he says.
In the hospital, Shawn meets Belle to tell him Jan’s expected to wake up this morning. Shawn assures that she’ll be arrested and won’t be able to hurt them again. Dr. Snyder and Judith the nurse, appear in Jan’s room. She’s awake and asks where she is. Dr. Snyder appears and tells them Jan’s awake, lucid and her speech is fine. “That’s remarkable,” Belle says. Shawn goes to talk to her about police business. Belle wants to come. She wants to see her face when Shawn tells her she’s going down for this. They arrive at Jan’s room and Jan smiles. “What a surprise.” She thought she’d be on their honeymoon. “How was the wedding?” She asks for photos, saying she always knew they belonged together. Jan goes on about the wedding until they fill her in on her kidnapping Belle and forced Shawn to marry her. “I honestly don’t know what you’re talking about,” Jan says. Shawn says they’re not buying her act. Jan seems surprised. They fill her in on what she did and Jan doesn’t know what they’re talking about. She thinks about it and it all comes back to her so Shawn starts to arrest her. Jan says she remembers her father tried to strangle her. “So if I’m going down, so is daddy dearest.”
At home, Allie bounces Henry and talks on a call about her mother’s case. She knows Rafe won’t stop until he gets the truth.

Rafe finds Salmi in the interrogation room. Trask is holding Sami to her confession. Sami yells that she didn’t murder Charlie. Melinda doesn’t give a damn. “I hate when people can’t admit when they’re wrong.” Rafe scoffs at that since Sami’s one of them. Trask wants more evidence to convict her. Sami’s scared. “You should be.” Sami knows there are “a few instances” in which she lied and that Trask will crucify her for it. Rafe will prove Sami didn’t do it. Sami’s grateful. She does listen to him. He says, “No you don’t.” She insists she does. Just after the fact. Rafe turns to the autopsy and says the first bullet went into his heart and was the cause of death. The one she shot was lodged in the lung when he was deceased. Trask assumes she shot him twice. Rafe asks when she got into Salem. She says five in the morning. The coroner placed the time of death between midnight and three in the morning. Sami leaps out of her chair and into Rafe’s arms. “You did it! Thank you!” Sami wants out but he has to wait on Trask who might want to pay her back for “jerking her around.” Rafe wants her out of his station, and out of his hair. He leaves for a bit and returns and the charges were dropped. Still, she’s considering bringing other charges against Sami. This doesn’t stop Sami from jumping up and down with glee.
At Rafe’s, Ava learns that Tripp doesn’t believe Sami nor Allie killed Charlie. She guesses the real killer is still out there and flashes to wearing gloves as she entered Charlie’s unlocked apartment. Once she’s done, Tripp flashes to pounding on Charlie’s door. He is about to tell Ava something about that night when Nicole appears. Ava wants to finish their talk but Tripp takes off. Nicole brought cookies as an apology for accusing her of killing Tripp. Ava says she hasn’t been entirely honest. She reminisces about Charlie kidnapping her and says she wasn’t going to let him hurt Tripp. Nic asks if she hurt him. Ava recalls going into his apartment and holding Charlie in her arms as he said, “Mom.” He’d already been shot. “He was still alive,” she tells Nicole. Ava wanted to call an ambulance but Charlie said not to. He told her he loved her and asked her to tell him she loves him. “Charlie, of course, I love you.” Charlie died right after. “And then he was gone. My son was gone.” Ava cries and Nicole hugs her. Ava sobs that she left him alone and dead. Why didn’t she tell the police and Rafe? “Why pretend you didn’t know he was dead?” Ava has her reasons. She saw Tripp leaving when she arrived.

Tripp visits Allie at home. They talk about Sami’s case and then Allie admits Henry’s teething and won’t sleep no matter what she does. Tripp comforts her. They discuss Charlie’s death and how Tripp’s hurt by it. He doesn’t get it but Allie gets it. Charlie was his brother. Allie can’t imagine how Ava is feeling. Talk turns to Sami and Trask scares Allie. “She’s so rigid.” Allie is relying on Rafe to bring the killer to justice. Tripp looks glum. “Allie, there’s something I need to tell you…”
